We stayed in The Ash Street In for a couple of nights and found Rob and Margit fantastic hosts and always offering their local knowledge if needed but not imposing. The Inn has plenty of off street parking, a lovely snug/sitting room to sit in and catch up (this was beautifully decorated for Christmas). The Inn is spotless and Rob and Margit had some lovely touches around the place with some nibbles, a good selection of teas and coffees and also thought of some touches in the bathroom. Robs breakfasts were very tasty. If you want a great place to stay in Manchester this is the place to stay. Thanks Rob and Margit for letting us stay.
We were in Manchester for a wedding and stayed at the Ash Street Inn. Margit and Rob are wonderful hosts. Our room was beautiful and included so many special touches, too many to mention here (you'll need to visit to experience for yourself) but I have to mention the sheets and blankets (so very comfortable!!) Breakfast in the morning included fresh made bread and was our best meal of the week (after spending time in Boston and Newburyport MA.) The Inn is also conveniently within a short walk to the Currier Museum. If I every visit Manchester again someday so I can 'hopefully' visit the Inn again.
We enjoyed staying in this wonderful old house on our leaf-peeping adventure. The building is beautiful inside and out. It is nicely located for going out for dinner. The breakfast was wonderful. Most any amenity you can imagine is provided. The room was cozy and comfortable. The owners are expert at running this bed and breakfast!
The Ash Street Inn was a charming B&B operated by Margaret & Chef Rob. Miss Margaret was a perfect Hostess/Inn Keeper. We arrived after dark, very tired and hungry. Margaret greeted us with a smile, showed us around the house, offered snacks and drinks for later and helped us pick a local restaurant. Chef Rob makes a mean pumpkin pancake! Very good breakfast that was made to order (my husband was very happy with that). The room was cozy, included a fireplace and the bathroom was large. We only stayed one night so I’m not very familiar with the area but it was close to a very good restuarant “Cotton”.
We stayed in the Inn that had a package for the Currier Museum and Frank Lloyd Wright House. The couple who run the B&B are wonderful - the room we stayed in was not only attractive and comfortable - but it had everything you could every want . I would definitely go back.
Lovely B&B - beautifully appointed. Carefully thoughtful touches with nice bath room products, snacks, coffee tea at all times. Breakfast options were plentiful and delicious - made to order. Gave us free tickets to the great art museum within walking distance where we saw 5 newly acquired Gees Bend quilts on display among other things. Worth the time to visit. Would always stay here if in the area in the future.
Lovely, charming inn with original stained glass windows and period detailing on the door knobs. welcoming owners Rob and Margit, fantastic breakfast and a quiet neighborhood in downtown Manchester. We are looking forward to returning and do the package with the Currier Museum. Really appreciated their knowledge and attention to detail with my food allergy.
My wife and I found the Ash Street Inn when we were trying to book tours of the nearby Zimmerman and Kalil Frank Lloyd Wright homes. The innkeepers seem to have developed a unique partnership with Manchester's Currier Museum of Art, the local manager and owner of these Frank Lloyd Wright (FLW) homes. Ash Street Inn offers a room booking option that includes FLW tour and museum admission tickets at a great discount. The tour starts at the Currier Museum of Art, just one block away, so everything is super convenient and enjoyable! The FLW homes are among his few (only?) homes on the East Coast open for tours, so I highly recommend the tours. More about the Ash Street Inn! The husband/wife innkeepers (Margit and Rob) are real pros and they leave nothing to chance. The husband is a trained chef and tele-com exec, and Margit is a PhD biologist (as I recall), so you will have no trouble finding interesting things to talk about if you strike up a conversation with this lovely and personable couple. The included breakfast was delicious, and they have a welcoming snack bar set up for the occasional cup of coffee or fresh baked cookies. The home is charming and immaculately maintained. They seem to host a lot of weddings as well as a good number of regular guests as well. Some old negative reviews from 8-10 years ago seem to be from when the previous owner was still running the place. You will find nothing but stellar reviews from anyone who has visited since then. I would definitely return.…
The place does not have anything amiss. Even if you try to find it. Location close to the Currier museum and downtown, friendly, respectful, and informative owners, cleanness, great tasty breakfast, cookies, coffee, even bathrobes offered for a night. Very nice. Free tickets to the Currier museum was an unexpected benefit, as well as helpful information about local attractions
We booked the entire Ash Street Inn for our youngest daughter’s wedding weekend at the end of May. It was perfect for the entire family, including Bride and Grandmother of the Bride! This late 1800’s Victorian home has been restored with décor and furnishings suited to the time when the it was built. Owners and Innkeepers, Rob and Margit Wezwick are wonderful hosts, readily available to ensure that your stay is pleasant. The bedrooms are spacious while at the same time cozy. During our stay, family members were able to relax in the comfortable living room and dining room while the girls took over the second floor to get ready for the big event. Breakfasts, including eggs, omelets, and fritatas, bacon and sausage, french toast and pancakes, made to everyone’s order, were delicious! (We tried them all!) Sweet treats, including homemade cookies and freshly prepared fruit kabobs and mini-cheesecakes (prepared for the wedding day), were special treats! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this lovely Inn and highly recommend it!…
