My wife and I wanted to enjoy a Fall weekend in the Whites and when I booked lodging at the Village of Loon I was looking for #1 location and #2 they had availability for the weekend we wanted (Oct 9th & 10th) . After booking and telling my wife about the fun weekend we had in store, I read Reviews and was concerned. I read about other guests calling out dated and dirty rooms. My wife and I spoke and decide to brace ourselves for whatever we found when we arrived. What we found was the exact opposite of the negative reviews. Check-in was a breeze and Faith at the front desks was very pleasant. Our room (Building 6 -room 125) was very clean and recently renovated. We had a nice view of the tennis courts and the mountains which looked great from our balcony. All of the furniture was newer and the bed was comfortable. The flooring was new and the carpets were clean. I've stayed in 5 Star hotels with less comfortable beds. The kitchenette was completely stocked with everything we needed and overall was very happy with the room. Keep in mind, this was NOT is $500 a night hotel but I felt a great value for what I paid ($392 for 2 nights). Yes housekeeping does leave all of your linens in a large bag for you. We didn't making the bed at all since I knew it was clean when I got in it. The location can't be beat, we walked across the street over to Loon for the Octoberfest and had a blast. The buildings have multiple floors and no elevators so you can get a ground level room and avoid the stairs but might have to deal with noise from guests above. We didn't have a problem, but be warned. If you are looking for a 5 Star resort experience, plan ahead, plan on paying a lot more and book a 5 Star. If you want a great location, look into the Village of Loon.

Surprised to find that after a long drive that we had to carry our linen/towels to the room, and make our own beds. The pandemic was cited as the reason, but this was not an issue for the resort we stayed at in neighboring Vermont the week before. On top of this, the 10 AM checkout time is an hour earlier than the Vermont resort, even though there is less service. Also had to schlep our baggage up and down the stairs to the 3rd floor; there is no elevator. Unit was decent, but not exciting.

Needs upgraded desperately - peeling paint, acoustic ceilings peeling, patio needs a do over. Looked like a homeless camp in the basement areas, ceiling fan dripping with dirt. Old electric vents need to be removed - horrible in appearance.

Beds not made upon arrival because they told us they were short of staff, kitchen not stocked. Called twice requesting items like soap and paper towels to no avail and finally had to go and purchase them. Inside and outside of unit very dirty. Purchased Lysol ourselves and cleaned unit. Took pictures and forwarded to RCI. Staff not customer friendly at all. If I could give it a zero I would.

The unit was clean, spacious, and convenient, Everyone talked about how comfortable the beds were. The view of the mountain from the balcony and loft windows was beautiful. We have stayed their twice and will again next year. It is in the perfect place to stay on Thursday night before the opening Friday of the New Hampshire Scots Festival.
