Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, believe their website reviews. This place is what you'd expect to see in the slums of Calcutta. They put us in a room barely bigger than a walk-in closet with the dirtiest bathroom you can imagine. Worse still, the entrance to the room had a bucket full of cigarette butts apparently from the sports bar that was exactly 5 steps away. WTF?? Adding joy to the vision was the smell, a mixture of bleach and stale tobacco. We put our luggage down, turned and walked through Lincoln center until we found lodging elsewhere. I gave back the keys within minutes of checking in and now in a dispute about paying them for putting us into a filthy, stinking shi*-hole. Better to sleep in your car than this rat.
When I read the reviews before I booked,it sounded fine but that is not what we found at all. For starters I needed to do some laundry. The washer was filthy as was the rest of the laundry room. Our room had a quilt and sheets and pillows that felt very worn out and didn’t appear to have been washed or cleaned between guests. The bathroom is very outdated with large wet spots on the ceiling and unclean places around the tub. In these times, a clean room is so important and this room didn’t impress me as clean or cared for. Save yourself and stay somewhere else.
Fantastic stay at this hotel. Convenient location. Attached to a great bar and restaurant, reasonably priced and delicious food. Has a pool that is mostly always empty. I was worried about previous reviews complaining about the hard beds, but we found them to be totally fine. My husband who has really bad sciatica said that the bed gives his back great support. Overall clean room. The carpets in the outside hallway and stairs are just old. I guess they keep carpeting down to prevent anyone from slipping if it rains. Carpets inside the room are old too but not bad. Bathroom and towels were spotless and very clean. Great shower water pressure. Didn't hear any cars on the road or neighbors due to the A/C in the room. Across the street from more restaurants and shops A 5-minute drive to more shops and other restaurants and fast food (Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, etc).. 10- to 15-minute drive to the White Mountains. Great antiques (Arnold's) close by as well as a huge Christmas store (Christmas Loft) 5 minutes away. Couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend this hotel. Great price too for everything you need.…
My husband booked us a quick getaway and we stayed at The Kancamagus Lodge. It’s a cute place, friendly front desk staff, and very clean despite it being pretty dated, but the beds were so bad! I’m not one to complain about stuff but my husband and I had the most terrible 2 nights sleep, it felt like we were sleeping on the hard ground. And the pillows were just as bad, so hard! I tossed and turned all night and woke up with a back ache. We almost left after one night because we were dreading trying to sleep there again. Sorry to say we won’t be back for this reason.
While the front office/owner was incredibly nice, it literally sounds like the cars on the Kanc are driving through your room. The rooms are right on the road and there is no soundproofing at all. We were up all night. It snowed so plows were out all night. Also the beds are terribly hard and uncomfortable. You can't beat the location as it is so close to Loon but disappointing.
