My son and his young family booked a stay for 3 nights at this motel while visiting us in June. When they arrived they were informed that there would be no housekeeping during their stay. When they checked into the room, they found crusty, dried deposits on the blanket at the foot of the bed, used tissues behind the bedside tables, and hair in the tub and on the bathroom walls. Needless to say, they were grossed out and complained at the front desk. The desk clerk was not helpful at all. In the end, all they received was a $169.25 credit on a $760.55 bill for 3 nights! Stay away from here.
Front desk person would get a 5, hotel gets 1. Room was dirty, No handles on drawers, room stunk of cigarettes, the bed skirts had burn holes on them, some lights didn’t work. No breakfast and front desk closes at 10 pm. Beds were hard and uncomfortable.
Every Year I stay at the Coos Inn and this year was no exception. Checking went smoothly but I was surprised all the furniture in the hallways and lobby. They are in the process of changing out all of the furniture in all of the rooms. In my spacious room the bed was new (very comfortable) and the entertainment center had a min-fridge and a microwave. I had no chair for the first 2 days but no bigee. The continental breakfast was closed because of COVID, which sucked. The heat worked as did the fridge (didn't use the microwave. I'll be back
My wife and I have bin going to the coos for years it used to be very good now we have trouble with pricing they say last room at this price so you jump in it and get .when you get to the hotel the place is empty I ask the clerk if the price includes discounts she says o yes it does I ask her show me she can't we ask what time is the coffee on in the morning she tells me use the coffee in the room ,did you ever drink that coffee it sucks, the heat didn't work the thermostat was broke I don't know if we'll be back
My family and I booked a 2 nights stay at the rate of $104 and $194 (Thur&Fri night). Due to the close proximity to local attractions (Santa's Village), competitive rates and "FREE continental breakfast," I decided to add a 3rd night to our stay. The rate for the 3rd night was nearly $300!! (When I inquired about the huge rate increase from Friday to Saturday night I was told it was due to high demand). With free breakfast, I was willing to pay the higher rate. I called ahead to inquire about room amenities due to our food allergies (looking for a mini fridge & microwave). Was told ALL rooms have a fridge, and if our room did not have a microwave, there would be one in the lobby for guest use. CHECK-IN- upon check in we learned that there was NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. This was FALSLEY advertised as It had not been offered in over 18 months due to COVID- 19. This was not mentioned when I booked directly with the hotel. No price adjustment was offered. The room was your standard hotel room- sitting area, 2 queen beds and bathroom. CLEANLINESS- My son immediately noticed that one of the beds in our room had corn chips on the bed and in between the mattress and box spring. We reported to the front desk agent who promptly moved us to a different room across the hall. The room appeared clean by had a very strong vinegar/pickle SMELL to it. The fridge was open, unplugged and pulled out from the wall, so I assumed there was a spill and the fridge just got cleaned. We plugged it in and unpacked our groceries. The next morning I went to get milk from the refrigerator and it was warm. MAINTENANCE ISSUES- Refrigerator- the fridge was unplugged and propped up on wood. This leaves me to believe staff must have been aware the refrigerator was not in working order prior to check in. Some if our special (expensive!!!) allergy-safe food spoiled. We were told it would swapped with a working one "later in the day " We were given the option to store our food in the lobby (No, Thanks!!) Sink & Tub Although they appeared clean, neither the sink nor tub drained properly. Completely clogged and in ankle deep water at the end of a 5 minute shower. Reported to front desk- not addressed during our stay. SAFETY ISSUE- My biggest concern of our stay was that my 6 year old opened the end table and said "mommy, what are all these pills?!" In the drawer were 3 prescription DRUG bottles. These medications included a potent Anti seizure/anticonvulsant drug, and 2 anxiety meds classified as CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES. One bottle had no cover and the pills were poured out in the end table...... I wish I was joking. Thank GOD my child was old enough not to ingest them. This oversight could have been catastrophic. The front desk staff were apologetic but were unable to do anything but offer us $10/off. Upon check out, I asked if the Manger was available. I was told she was just upstairs. When the clerk called she refused to talk to me in person and only spoke to me on the phone. As a person with years of experience working in the hotel/ resort/hospitality, I wanted to make sure I addressed my concerns to her directly. The manager was not very apologetic and only made excuses for her poorly run facility. She even blamed the website manager for the false advertisement (after 18 months- I am not the first to call them out in this error. This oversight becomes deliberate). After our brief conversation, she asked to speak with the front desk agent again. The agent told me all she could do was give a $10 discount. I understand that the Inn may have been short on housekeepers. However, at $600+ for one weekend, I would expect a clean safe hotel stay. Even if it's 20 minutes further from Santas Village, stay at the comfort inn and suites. They have a pool, arcade, breakfast and the rates were equal or cheaper than what I paid at this POORLY run hotel.…
We paid a pretty expensive rate because we were there during the annual PorcFest. Every other hotel on our trip had brought back their breakfast bars but this one still was using the Covid excuse to shortchange their guests. There was nothing served at all. They also didn't do any maid service - they offered to empty your trash can if you put it in the hall but one time, no one bothered to empty it. The room did have a table and separate sink area, microwave and decent sized refrigerator. It's also in a great location, right next to a very nice grocery and near restaurants and the Farmer's Market. If we had paid less than half of what they charged for a peak weekend, we would have maybe felt like we received a decent value. But to pay a crazy high rate and not get breakfast or maid service was disappointing. The other irritating thing: they don't even have a bathroom on the premises for guests' use outside their room. The only one was marked "employees only." We will think long and hard before coming back if it's during PorcFest. But if we could get the room for under $70 - AND receive the breakfast bar, we might think it was worth it.…
Basic room - very spacious. We had a king bed with comfortable pillows and mattress. Staff was friendly. Convenient Main Street location to walk to shops and restaurants. Room was clean with a refrigerator and microwave. Reasonable rate during foliage season. Located between a gas station and a shopping plaza, but with large trees on both sides, it was private and quiet for the location.
Started out poorly, waited at desk to sign in. Finally a lady came out and said "Are you waiting ". You are supposed to ring the bell. We said there is no bell....she looked and took it out from under the counter....She gave us our room cards and said down the hallway, we asked what room, and got a stare and then she told us. Room was large, bathroom tiny. Room probably needs to be updated. Stains on couch and on carpet. Check out went smoothly and this lady was polite and nice to talk to.
Another year, another return to the Coos Motor Inn for the Christmas holidays. I found the Inn in good shape. Clean, and all the room equipment worked! The staff, as usual, were friendly and helpful. I didn't avail myself of breakfast service but for those who have not been there, the Inn serves breakfast. I will definitely stay here again next year
Friendly staff were very helpful. Both for in house needs and also for suggestions for local places to eat. Room was as expected and the only issue we had was with some of the bedding. While it was obviously cleaned, the blanket and top sheet were stained and I requested replacement. This was promptly done with apologies to us for the problem. The breakfast is basic but has what you need to get going in the morning. Value was good given the peak foliage season visit. Rooms were very quiet and unlike some hotels, we did not hear any neighbors during the night or in the morning when you might hear the showers running. Overall a good place to use a as a base for a vist to the area.
