Stayed here with my Gf while we hiked the presidential range. The location is great and the rooms are very nice. Ms. Andrea the host is awesome. I have been all the world and this is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had! Definitely will be back!
My room was on first floor with 2 twin beds. I will say the photos make the rooms appear much larger than they are. My bathroom was very spacious. Thick fluffy towels. Comfortable bed linens. Of the 4 pillows in my room, 1 was just right. The mattress was quite firm (hard really). The furniture is not “antique” it is just old. Needs refinishing, etc. However the bath and bedroom were SUPER CLEAN. No dust or stray hair to be found. When checking in Andi will tell you what the main part of the next morning’s breakfast will be. Pancakes. Could choose choc chip, apple spice, banana, blueberry! Plus awesome fried potatoes, bacon or sausage (or both!) eggs, fresh fruit cup. I asked for milk and was given a good big glass not just a juice glass size. Fresh choc chip and peanut butter cookies. FOOD was STUPENDOUS! Linda and Andi SUPER FRIENDLY. Common rooms seemed comfortable. Sound carried through thin walls. I could hear fish aquarium bubbling all night. This horrible year of Coronavirus is first year of business for Linda and Andi. I assume when profits are more like expected they will do some updating of furnishings. Yes I would stay here again. If they get tired of running an inn, Andi could do a bakery !…
We had a great time all staying in the Granny Stalbird Suite! It was myself and my husband, our two kids, and my mom. As a side note, the current owners bought the inn last summer (2019) so any reviews prior to that might not be super helpful. Anyway, we were there for a trip to Santa's Village. Everything was very clean and breakfast was AMAZING. They will take your breakfast order the day before and can cook just about anything (omelettes, bacon, sausage, french toast, blueberry pancakes, oatmeal...) and it's all served with fresh fruit (when available) and coffee, tea, and juice as you desire. The grounds are pretty with high bush blueberries there for the picking at the entrance. There are a variety of rooms of all different layouts. The Granny Stalbird Suite had two bedrooms (one quite large with three twin beds and the other with a queen) with a bathroom in between and plenty of closet room. If you are tall I would not suggest staying in the Granny Stalbird Suite or another top floor room as the dormers are easy to bump your head on. We were fine but if my dad (who is 6'4") had been with us it would have been problematic. However, there are plenty of other room beautiful options on lower floors. After taking a tour when it was empty the day we were checking out and prior to new guests checking in we discovered there are several other rooms with queen or king beds with a room next door or just across the hall that has twin beds so there are a lot of options for families. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here.…
We booked two rooms at Jefferson Inn for 2 nights on 2 day hiking trip to New Hampshire. Inn strategically located right next to Mount Waumbek trailhead (just walk 4 minutes to trailhead) and 15 minutes by car away from popular Appalachia parking lot for trailheads to Mt Madison and Mt Adams. We were pleasantly surprised when checking in, the Inn was immaculately clean; our rooms had renovated bathrooms with modern fixtures, tiling, etc (versus century old fixtures found in many Inns). Beds and sheets very clean and comfortable. The owners recently purchased Inn one year ago, it is a family affair with Grandmother owner, daughter manager, and even grand-daughters doing gardening and chores. You can see they are pouring their hearts and sweat into making their Inn work (and in the context of Covid-19 really fighting uphill battle). PS- we felt perfectly safe relative to Covid-19 issues, wearing masks in common areas, but never at fear that air particles or germs were present. The best way to describe the Inn is as "basic but perfectly suitable". We would stay again for sure.…
Stayed one night with a friend to hike Mt. Starr King/Waumbek (practically next door). We got there late and left early, but the owners were lovely, our room was very clean, beds were super comfy, and the breakfast included with the room rate was outstanding. We arrived a little later than anticipated and the owner waited up for us, and offered fresh baked cookies on our arrival. She gave us a tour of the inn and took our breakfast order before leaving us for the night. They accommodated our early hiking time and served breakfast early - made to order deep dish omelettes, potatoes, fresh baked muffins and fruit. WAY better than the fast food breakfast we would have grabbed on the road had we stayed elsewhere. Would definitely recommend the inn.
