Thank you again for another great stay! We were in Loggers this year and everything was so clean and pretty! As always, the grounds were immaculate and peaceful. The cabin was clean and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The view of the stars from the deck are just breathtaking.

In desperate need of a relaxing getaway, we reserved the workshop cabin for a few nights. It was exactly what we needed. The kitchen is small but equipped with everything we needed to cook nightly dinners. They really thought of everything... even the corkscrew! The beds were cozy and the quilts were lightweight but warm. We did bring some extra throws for lounging in the sitting areas. It helped in some of the corners that weren't as warm as the rest of the cabin. The bathroom has a good size shower (cabin showers are usually tiny) and the water pressure was great. The back porch swing was great for watching the kids play in the snow. The staff was also wonderful. We had an issue with our car right before checkout and contacted the office about our inability to leave on time. They were extremely understanding and accommodating. Overall this was an excellent stay.

This was our third trip in as many years and, again, we had a wonderful time! The cabin was immaculate. The WiFi was strong, the TV worked, and the area was breathtaking. This year, bc it was so warm, we were able to use the grill, which was spotless. Communication was clear. While I’m sad we didn’t get to visit and chat this year, I’m grateful for the enormity of the work you all do to keep us all safe during a pandemic.
Thank you for all that you do ❤️

We have been here in the past and had a great experience. We came back this year and had a terrible experience with the new owners. When we came in I went to the bathroom and it smelled like pee. Hand soap was extra diluted with water. The refrigerator is very old and had no lights. The bed sheets smell like sweat. She is very disrespectful to the clients. She looks for every little thing to put extra charges on your stay. The best thing about this stay was going back home. I do not recommend this place to anyone. We will NEVER come back here!

Yes, please be advised we strictly enforce our policies and extra charges will incur to ensure our respectful guests can have an enjoyable and memorable stay. We love to welcome courteous people who are RESPECTFUL and HONEST. The person writing this review was not even a registered guest. We speculate this person might be one of the many unreported and undisclosed people that was sneaked in by a registered guest or perhaps a relative of theirs that did not even stay here. We have a zero tolerance for anyone who does not abide by our Guest Policies and Cabin Rules. The REGISTERED guest signed and agreed to our terms and conditions. This person is upset their friend was charged for rules which they agreed to follow when making their reservation. We only interacted with the REGISTERED guest, there was no interaction with anyone else. The only disrespect was from the REGISTERED guest, his lies and deceit caused the miserable stay for his undisclosed and unreported people. The REGISTERED guest admitted he did not disclose bringing additional individuals in the wee hours of the evening. When I spoke to the REGISTERED guest in the morning he apologized for his disrespect and understood the reason for the first unreported guest charge. Later in the day he made the foolish choice to parade the large number of unreported people in front of us. His arrogance and treachery to flaunt his deception caused an additional fee which AGAIN he agreed to when signing the policies. These two extra charges were ones that the REGISTERED guest was aware when he signed and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions of our Guest Policies and Cabin Rules. Enforcing our Guest Policies and Cabin Rules does not in any way, shape or form make us disrespectful, but it is the people who don't abide by the legal contract they sign and agree to that are the disrespectful individuals. These people left the place smelling of sweat and urine. Another of their undisclosed and unregistered individuals wrote me several e-mails and even said " we should have left (curse word) turds everywhere around the cabin." Would love to share the many e-mails with the abundance of profanities sprinkled with numerous lies, threats, and false allegations from this other unreported individual, but it is just unnecessary. These are NOT the type of people anyone would want to stay in their home. We deeply regret allowing them to stay and creating such a horrible experience for our respectful guests. These people are the reason our Guests Policies and Cabin Rules have become so long. These people will never be welcomed back. So happy when people leave these types of reviews because we have a zero tolerance for anyone who does not abide by the Guest Policies and Cabin Rules which they sign and agree. The recent uptick in the negative reviews is from the many disrespectful guests that are coming here. We are starting to get rid of these types of people to attract the respectful guests that want to create special memories and have an enjoyable stay!

We really loved the outdoor set-up and the grounds. And it was very pet friendly. Inside was a different story: You are asked to bring your own pillows, for comfort, and I'm glad we did. The bedding was worn, the kitchen wasn't very clean, and the table/countertops were sticky. The management gives you dozens of requirements ahead of time, yet they are unavailable to help. They do warn you that they have very limited hours by phone (no hours in person) and that they don't sanitize between guests. There was so little light that we moved a lamp into the bedroom, but we needed to unplug something. It turned out to be the refrigerator (we didn't know that the fridge plug would be in the bedroom.) This caused problems. It took at least 2 hours for them to respond to the malfunctioning fridge. I called, I knocked on the office door, and there was movement, but no response. There was a window fan that couldn't be used on the floor, but there were no outlets near enough to the window to plug it in, and no extension cords. Many small things made this experience less than optimal, but it was a lovely location!

You are provided clear and concise guidelines and instructions on how things work in the cabins and our processes so you can have an enjoyable stay while renting one of our rental homes. You were told that the office would not be open to the public and were informed of our limited office hours. The office responded during the limited office hours to your "problem," which was your fault. You made the decision to unplug a cord that said "Fridge". You unplugged the refrigerator and the refrigerator started defrosting and leaking. You acted on your own accord and unplugged a labelled cord. You were the cause of the malfunction. If you want an individual sitting at a desk telling you in person not to unplug a cord labelled fridge, maybe you should stay at a five-star resort and not in a rustic log cabin home. The movement you saw when you came down to the closed office was a fan blowing the curtain. We were in and out of the office, so no one was in the office to hear your incessant calls. As soon as we were back in the office and got your multitude of voicemails we called you back, told you the issue you caused, and brought you down towels to clean up the mess you made. Know for sure that the bedding is worn! We certainly do not provide brand new bedding for each guest. Our bedding is clean and by no means a 600-thread count, so if you expected Egyptian spun cotton sheets, you should have brought them from home. With expectations like that is no wonder you are a disappointment. The table/countertops may have been sticky because we started using a more potent antibacterial and disinfectant cleaning spray. We will investigate that issue further, thanks for letting us know. You have another great point, from now on we will ask our guests to bring their own bedding for their comfort as well. We try to have our rentals be self-contained homes where all you need to bring are groceries, clothes, and toiletries, but we will be making many changes going forward.

I made a 5 night reservation for myself, my 2 year old daughter and Mom. It was really my only vacation in 2020 and I was beyond excited to unwind and leave the stress behind.
We rented the cabin called The Rocks ($225/night + $150 returnable deposit).
I am the easiest going person but it was impossible not to get upset.
On our 3rd day, I got a call from the management and I thought "oh, how nice, they want to know how our stay is so far". In fact, it was to inform me that I need to remove the tent I left in front of the cabin, in the yard, for my toddler to play. It left such a bitter taste in my mouth to be honest, as I live in a condo and wasn't expecting to encounter such strict rules. But I removed it without any comment.
After check out, I received the attached email, in which I was informed that I was charged $25 from the deposit because I forgot to return a table to its original location and because they found broken coaster.
I loved the cabin and really was looking forward to a new booking but all this has made me not want to ever go back.
The management is the issue here.
I've waited a long time to put the money together, I really wanted to offer my family a great memory after a long and very stressful year.
I am so dissapointed by how this was handled.

Your issue has nothing to do with poor management, but your inability to follow the guest policies and cabin rules which you signed and agreed. Management enforces our cabin rules and guest policies, which is normal business operating procedure, so unsure why us enforcing our rules and policies you sign and agree to would be construed as poor management. We do not allow tents or canopies to be pitched anywhere on our property. This information was provided in the cabin rules and guest policies which you signed and agreed on 9/12/2020 at 9:41 am. Would have thought the over 8 pages of cabin rules and guest policies would be a clear indication of the strict rules we have in place for guests to ensure all our guests have an enjoyable and memorable stay. You signed and agreed to these rules, but don't think you read what you signed, which left you surprised and with a bitter taste in your mouth. We have the same rules for all our guests. We are so transparent with our policies and send multiple communications prior to any guest arriving; on 9/18/2020 you again received the cabin rules and guest policies. Your decision to use social media as a forum to complain that you shouldn't be accountable for damaging our property just shows the blatant disregard you have for the law and the contract you signed, which leaves us with a bitter taste in our mouth. Your use of social media to voice your issue of being charged for the disrespect you have of someone else's property and belongings while being a guest staying in someone's home is very disappointing for us. You damaged our property and were charged $25 for the cost to replace the item, don't know how that is handling a situation poorly. You handled the situation poorly, by not being accountable and calling us to let us know you damaged an item in a home you were renting. The icing on the cake was you trying to conceal your carelessness by pushing the damaged item in a corner. You should have been charged another $100 for some other violations, but we felt sorry for you and we were trying to be nice.

We recently visited Jocelyn’s for the 3rd time. This time we brought our young nieces and nephew, as well as our adult daughter, and visited Santas Village. We stayed in the Christmas cabin. Upon arrival, the cabin was neat and clean. The children were in awe of the cabin and the decorations, and our little nephew couldn’t believe there was a little wooden bed just his size! We all had a great time and made some amazing memories the children will carry with them for years to come. We hope to make this an annual end of summer tradition.
We were charged a fee after check out, due to neglecting to remove trash and some food items. A couple of the littles got sick as we were packing up (too much junk at Santas Village!) and things got hectic. We understood the extra charges as the rules clearly stated that all trash and food items needed to be removed at checkout or we would be charged.
We had previously stayed in Hikers and the Moose Camper and had a great time on both of those visits as well. On our first visit we purchased a hiking stick for our little girl, which the owners wood burned/engraved with her name and unicorn. She still has it! We hope we will be welcomed back even though we didn’t clean as thoroughly as we should have on our last visit.
We highly recommend Josselyns!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are so happy that you were able to bring more family members to share in your good times. We appreciate you reminding us of the precious memory you and your daughter gave to us. The sheer joy on your daughter's face when she held her unicorn engraved walking stick...priceless! Can still see your daughter’s face and her beautiful smile which is forever etched in my mind. What was more amazing is that we had someone on staff who was able to draw a unicorn; although she did pretty nice seal and skull drawings as well. We are grateful for the time you took to share the three years of positive experiences you have had with us, especially after this stay when you were charged a fee. Nobody likes to be charged extra fees, but you were accountable, respectful, gracious, and understanding of our rules and for that we truly appreciate you and your family. We cannot wait to welcome you and your family back a 4th time!

Stayed at Joslyn‘s cabins snowmobiling with my kids. Place was glare ice my son who has Down syndrome fell down twice my daughter who is 14 fell down also can’t believe they wouldn’t even put sand or salt out. Not a very clean place either. Did not bring the garbage out because I was so worried about the ice and getting my kids into the vehicle without getting hurt any further. Joslyn‘s cabins turned around and charge me $100 because I did not bring the garbage out. I left them a message about the hundred dollars they said they should have charged me more and that they hope I choke. not a place I would suggest anybody to go to. Refrigerator didn’t work the carbon monoxide detector kept going off not a pleasant stay at all.

Yes, of course you were not happy, we enforced our policies and you were charged because you did not abide by the terms of the agreement in which you signed. Our policies clearly lay out all charges that could incur if you do not abide by our terms so there are no surprises. It is easy to post a bad review, not recommend a property, and suddenly have issues that were never reported while staying when someone does not want to be accountable for their disrespect for someone else’s property and the policies and rules that are in place. Never during your stay did you notify us of any issues you were having in the cabin. Only after you were charged did you start finding faults with the cabin, property upkeep, and start making threats to our business. You clearly did not read anything you signed, emails sent, or book left in the cabin on how things operate. The book states not to use the fireplace as a primary heat source, which you did. If you use the fireplace for a prolonged period of time a window needs to be cracked open because the carbon monoxide detector will go off. We absolutely plow and sand, so your statement is inaccurate. My contractors were actually sanding the property when you were checking out. We also have buckets of sand for guests to use at all the cabins. We are happy that you will not be coming back. We continue to work hard to get rid of all the disrespectful people we do not want to have stay here. We want our respectful guests to have a memorable stay! Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your review lets people know the type of people that will not be welcomed here. It is only through any review, either good, or bad that we can continue to keep the better caliber of guests we have!

This was our fourth visit to Josselyn’s. Another wonderful time. We stayed in Hiker’s this time and it was so cozy and clean! The cabin is so well laid out, all five of us had more than enough room.
We are always so appreciative of the enormous effort they make to maintain the cabins and grounds, making every space beautiful.
Thank you so much again for a wonderful stay! We can’t wait to come back!

We returned to Josselyns for our 4th trip in 2 years! This is the perfect place no matter the season. Secluded, clean, close to snowmobile trails for winter fun. We stayed in Rainbow north while friends stayed in Rainbow South for this getaway. Great hill for the kids to go sledding 200 ft from front door. It worked out perfectly!! Owners were on site and seen walking her pets she stopped to say Hi and chat for a bit. With today’s day in age the kids were able to hop in WiFi for some remote learning! Cabins have every thing you need to make a nice home cooked meal!! We’ll be back real soon (maybe again this season).
