The Wentworth Inn garners acclaim for its diverse amenities, including gourmet dining and private hot tubs. Exceptional service is a hallmark here, with guests frequently lauding the warm and professional staff. The hotel's quaint charm and stylish decor contribute to a cozy atmosphere, complemented by its scenic and well-situated location.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed again at the Wentworth after staying at another grand New Hampshire hotel. I have to say, our second day staying at the Mountain View Grand had us wishing we had booked the Wentworth again instead. The optional breakfast and dinner at the Wentworth is sooo worth it . The chef is good and even gave us a good morning message in icing on our breakfast plate on our last day! (see our Pic)
The M.V.G. hotel had great views and location like the Wentworth but lacked it's charm and warmth. M.V.G. had much more of a large company corporate feel. For one thing the eggs Benedict arrived cold and eggs were over cooked. The waitress acknowledged that and to their credit they took that item off the bill. The wait staff seemed really rushed... price of the common rooms at the Mountain View Grand would get you a premium room with steam baths or hot tub at the Wentworth.
I'm starting to sound like a commercial, but having now stayed at both Grand Hotels I feel my wife and I can confidently judge which Hotel gave you a nicer experience for the money. And that is what we are trying to pass on here for anyone else trying to weigh the differences in a stay at a premium NH hotel.

After traveling to New Hampshire a few times in the past, my boyfriend and I decided that this vacation we would seek out a few different places that we had never been before. Staying at an Inn about a 5 minute drive away we discovered The Wentworth and decided that it would be a good idea to make a reservation and have a nice dinner. To say that we were impressed would be an understatement! The host was very friendly and we got in almost immediately after we arrived and the waitress was incredible. I decided to have the scallops while my boyfriend decided on the special of the night, which was halibut. After eating our meals and ordering our dessert our waitress came over to deliver our desserts (which were incredible) and before setting them down on the table she stopped to tell us something. She told us that the couple that had previously been sitting a few tables away from us were staying at the Inn and to have our whole bill charged to their room but they wished to stay anonymous. Astonished and not being able to find the right words to say to express how thankful I was I teared up by the major paying it forward deed and my boyfriend was just as thankful! We ended up writing a thank you note that would be delivered to their room at the Inn because we wanted to express how much we appreciated it. Thank you for an amazing experience at The Wentworth (staff and the anonymous couple.) We definitely will be making another visit to The Wentworth!

The Wentworth certainly knows how to make your stay so extra special!! I really can’t say enough about the over and beyond service from the moment we arrived & throughout our three day stay! So nice to see smiling faces ready to accommodate upon checking in with the process done so efficiently. We felt so very comfortable with the safe measures in place throughout the hotel from arriving to the beautiful fall decor and welcoming porch surrounded by the picturesque foliage in Jackson
The beautiful room sparkling clean with views of the river and mountains
Just love the nice touch of the fragrant toiletries that are available in your room The shower gel is heaven!!!
Our dining experience five stars!! We started with cocktails in the bar area at a quaint table with fantastic drinks & service plenty of room to sit without feeling crowded by other patrons.
We had a beautiful table in the dining room which was spaced out perfectly for eating indoors Never feeling overcrowded even though it was a busy holiday weekend
Service was excellent!!
The new fall menu was just SUPERB! We sampled the short rib with sweet potatoes & a Kale salad that was one of the best meals we have experienced along with the specialty desserts it was just perfect!
The included breakfast is done to perfection with many selections to choose & the French toast with the amazing maple syrup delicious the bacon is beyond words
Our group was sad to leave & we are looking forward to coming back for another stress free beautiful stay at this
Outstanding hotel Very soon

For a first COVID-era vacation, my partner and I chose the Wentworth after reading the detailed safety protocols on the website. We were reassured upon arrival of that safety commitment, as one example of many others of the superb attention to detail by the owner/manager and staff. From the extensive landscaping to the cleanliness of the pool to elegance of signs and custom labels on hand sanitizer, through the restaurant waitstaff asking each morning about ketchup or hot sauce with eggs, it was an impressive operation. Just lovely as an experience for guests!
Ideally located too in the White Mountains - on a main road within walking distance to multiple restaurants but quiet. And about a 15 minute drive to a good base for hikes, the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. Don't miss the local Jackson Falls just up Carter Notch Road from the inn.
Finally, our reservation email mentioned a wedding would be taking place during our stay, which concerned us a little. But it turned out to be no problem. A tent apparently is set up all summer in the backyard for weddings, which helps keep them somewhat self-contained. Again, the manager and staff seemed fully on top of providing a great wedding but at no sacrifice to other guests. Kudos!

Though our stay was only one night, we enjoyed every bit of it. First off, Jackson, NH is a wonderful town; better yet, the Wentworth is there. Our room with two double beds had more than enough space: we were impressed by the extra side room and the large bathroom with both a clawfoot tub and an enclosed shower. Dinner and breakfast were great and everyone at the property was very kind and happy to help with anything. We enjoyed swimming in the pool both in the afternoon and morning (remember to ask the front desk for towels!) and we admired how well the grounds and buildings are maintained, an impressive feat for anything that size and of historic nature. Our stay was short this time, but with rooms at a reasonable price (with breakfast included), warm staff, and a beautiful property, we'll be sure to stay longer next time.

Our first getaway since the pandemic and we both agreed that we felt safe at the Wentworth. The protocols are clear and sensible and do not diminish from the experience. We saw cleaning (furniture, surfaces, etc.) going on all the time. We booked a suite with fireplace, three TV’s and an attached hot tub, private, yet open to the outdoors. We would definitely book that room again. The inn is spacious and elegant though not pretentious and staff are friendly and helpful. We ate two breakfasts and one dinner in the dining room. Food is excellent and carefully presented; even a side order of eggs must have been placed in a mold before serving. Our breakfast server, Jean, deserves a shout-out for stellar service, all the while having to seat new parties as well. Not so though at dinner where our server was slow, borderline neglectful (twice thanking us for our patience). Again the food was wonderful (a kale Caesar salad starter was special) but at this level of dining, service should be more attentive. Other than that the Wentworth is a 5-star inn. We has a wonderful stay and we expect to return.

Dear Eric: Thank you so much for choosing The Wentworth for your first getaway since the pandemic. These are scary times for many and I am very pleased to read that you felt safe at my hotel. I put a lot of thought into how to make the hotel safe, yet relaxed and welcoming at the same time so I am pleased that this was your experience. I will be sure to share your kind mention of Jean with her so that she may be recognized for her efforts. A wonderful lady and a warm and cheery presence at breakfast. I am sorry that you did not have the same experience with your service at dinner but happy that you enjoyed the food. Thank you again for your visit with us, for taking the time to share your experience with the readers of TripAdvisor and I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back. My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Wentworth Inn in August of 2020. We were familiar with the quaint town of Jackson, NH from some previous trips several years ago, but the reviews for the Wentworth Inn caught my eye because their website spelled out very detailed precautions being taken due to the pandemic. We booked one of the Thornycraft Parlor Suites with a lovely separate sitting room and our own private hot tub on an enclosed balcony (even the hot tub had a large flat screen television). The suite was beautiful, spacious and spotless.
We were able to book reservations at their outdoor restaurant in advance of arrival and were thrilled the breakfasts and dinners we enjoyed during our stay. Tables were appropriately distanced and service was impeccable. They accommodated my dietary requests easily upon request.
Overall we felt the owner and staff did an excellent job of maintaining a safe and memorable experience during these challenging times. We would certainly return to the Wentworth Inn in the future.

Thank you so much for choosing our hotel to celebrate your anniversary. Moments are so precious these days and I am so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and you also felt safe as well at my hotel. As you mention it is a very challenging time to be in business, we have had to reimagine the guest experience in ways I never thought I would have to. For me the safety of my guests has always been a priority but a welcoming atmosphere is equally as important. Thank you again and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back again. It was a cold weekend that brought us to Jackson and The Wentworth but we enjoyed our large king room, jacuzzi tub, and gas fireplace in the Arden Cottage. Our reservation included breakfast and dinner which we chose to have in our room due to COVID concerns with indoor dining. All of our dishes were excellent, even delivered as take-out rather than dine-in, but the imposed 18% gratuity seemed a bit excessive. Although we didn't have the opportunity to explore the amenities like we normally would, the lobby and grounds of the hotel are very nice although I agree with another reviewer that the rooms may need a refresh in the near future.

I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and your in-room dining, even in it's new format and that you felt safe and comfortable in my hotel. The added service charge is fairly standard in the industry and I am lucky to have a very loyal and hardworking staff with me here at the hotel. We've eaten here in the past & decided to spend a few days here. Due to my sister in law coming, we stayed in the condos instead of getting 2 rooms. It was very nice. It IS privately owned, so thee is some involvement with the inn. I do suggest the owner of this unit replace the mattress. We also feel the shower(though small)should have the water control handle replaced with a turn type handle to avoid the "bump" issue, which can turn the water really cold or really hot, depending on how you bump into it(which is an easy occurrence)We feel that seeing how nice the inn is maintained, we feel that for certain the rooms are as well maintained, too. The inn itself, was spotless. Not an easy task considering all the salt & sand that can be tracked in from outside, due to the snow & ice still prevalent in the area.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to be provided lodging at the Wentworth for a recent event we were working in the Mount Washington Valley. The room, in one of their "cottages", was well-furnished and beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and bright. The bed firmness was excellent. There was plenty of space to move around in the room. The bathroom, had a shower and a Jacuzzi (mountain bikers, hikers and skiers, take note). We wish we had time to make use of the pool and that our schedule had allowed us to eat more than one breakfast in the dining room. The breakfast buffet (menu also available) was excellent. The staff was exceptionally helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Regardless of where you want to go in the Mount Washington Valley, the location of the Wentworth is very central, but away from the congestion of North Conway. Finallly, knowing it's important to many travelers, the internet speed in our room was very good.

Dear Craig: Thank you for your recent visit with us and we were happy to be able to accommodate you and your wife for the event held in the area. I am happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for the recommendation on TripAdvisor. One of my big projects this year was doing a compete re vamp of the Wi Fi system at the hotel. It is challenging in a hotel like mine with cottages spread out over a large area but we got rid of all the repeaters and hard wired a new system in which guests like you who sometimes have to work while staying with us do appreciate. Thank you again and I hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you and your wife back again in the future. Sincerely Eleanor Koeppel Owner and General Manager

I would call the Inn in advance and ask them. They will answer all questions. Given that it is winter I don't know what their dining policy is.
Yes, Chef Gazda thickens his sauces and soups by reduction, not additives. We have many gluten free choices, including bread and pancakes - just be sure to let your server know.
Definitely some places to kayak. Whitewater just across the street but will be too steep, dangerous but there are some nice rivers in North Conway area where there's some whitewater but very nice. You could probably store the kayaks in the basement of the hotel. We brought bikes and were told we could store them in the basement. Didn't need to but nice to know yo ucould!
When you check in, they will ask you what time you would like to have dinner. You just tell them at that point, or say you'll call over later, from your room, when you decide.
