Of course we had read all the wonderful reviews , so we thought our expectations would be too high. However this charming B&B is just as described....lovely hosts, idyllic setting, and delicious breakfasts. Sally and Dick are well suited to their roles, and made us feel very welcome in their comfortable, charming home. Their humour and after-breakfast advice set us... More

We wanted to getaway for just one night and were sorry when we left we did not stay longer. For a couple of city folks from Bristol, Connecticut, who were use to the normal big chain accommodations, we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. From the time we arrived, the Inn keepers Dick and Sally, oh and of course... More

My wife and I have had the pleasure of spending a weekend with Dick and Sally at the Carter Notch Inn with several friends in April of 2008 and 2009. The Carter Notch Inn is an elegant bed and breakfast tucked into the foothills of Mt. Washington ( 15 minute drive from Tuckerman's Ravine). Our friends, my wife, and I... More

We have stayed at the Carter Notch Inn no less than 10 times over the past 12 years. Needless to say, we have been very happy guests. Since Dick & Sally took over as the Innkeepers, they have made a great B&B even better. Their warm & gracious hospitality makes us feel like old friends. The inn is in top... More

My wife and I stayed at this amazing B&B for 3 nights in July and, as it's been said before, everything was PERFECT!! Whilst the stunning location, spotless and homely accomodation, great breakfasts and peace and quiet offered here are all very nice, what really made the difference for us (and what has prompted me to write my first and... We have stayed at the Carter Notch Inn each of our yearly trips to Jackson since 2004. It's a small inn, very intimate and homey. The Inn-keepers, Dick and Sally, are warm and welcoming and run a top-notch operation. We love the rooms; they have wine, beer, soft drinks and water available to guests 24 hours, there are cookies and... More

Also beware friends are not welcome to even be in the house (a groom who traditionally just needed somewhere else to get ready for his big day) it seems even though we were all extremely respectful. And a snide remark about not having partaken in our 2nd breakfast there (the happy couple were taking us out to eat the next... More

We are proud of our reputation for providing quality, comfortable accommodation where guests can relax and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. To this end, the Carter Notch Inn and its facilities are exclusively for the use of registered guests (something we did explain to this couple upon their arrival) We were surprised however when a stranger knocked on our door... Our British hosts Sally and Dick made us feel most welcome, they made us feel very relaxed and were helpful through out. Substantial American breakfasts were freshly prepared by our hosts and we couldn't have asked for more. The house is a really interesting old house with lots of charm and character. Each room is different and is set in... More

We spent a lovely night at the Carter Notch Inn this past weekend. The innkeepers greeted us warmly at 9:00pm on a chilly rainy night. They showed us around the beautifully renovated building and then whisked us into a very comfortable nicely appointed room on the 3rd floor. If we had stayed another day we would have surely taken advantage... More
