My husband and I have been going to the New England Inn for getaways for more than 15 years. We won't stay anyplace else! We just got back from our latest experience. We stayed for 2 nights in the Beaver Log Cabin. It was nothing short of fantastic! Carol greeted us at the desk at check in and made us...

I had stayed here in the past in the Lodge building (adults only) and the room was enormous with a fireplace, hot tub, huge living room and separate bedroom. This time we stayed in the cottages with relatives, teens and the family dog. Each side of building had a living room with gas fireplace, furniture and two twins beds, separate...

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here in the lodge. We had a room with a fireplace and Jacuzzi. It could not have been more relaxing. The people at the Inn were so incredibly nice. When we arrived we were greeted by Cody (an adorable german shepherd) and the people at the desk. Everyone was smiling and welcoming. We...

We stayed on one of the coldest weekends in memory. The skiing at Bretton Woods was spectacular, and the accommodations at the New England Inn were equally good. The staff was very courteous and helpful and it helped make our stay memorable. We ate at the attached Tuckerman's Tavern and the food was very good and it was busy yet...

Incredibly friendly, polite, and accommodating staff -- they even sent out a detailed list of restaurants with holiday hours, since their restaurant wasn't going to be open. There's nothing we didn't love about staying here. It was peaceful, relaxing, quiet, cozy... Even the light breakfast and coffee was really nice. We wanted to have a romantic white Christmas in a...

We loved it so much - we brought the kids back to see it - we stayed in the gorgeous garden suite - love their continental breakfast and every dinner was superb at the adjacent Tuckerman's Tavern. Hope to return very soon!

We stayed in the family loft over New Year's weekend and had a great time. The room was just right for our family of three, plenty of space and you could easily sleep more people. We loved having a living room space and gas fireplace in our room. The location can't be beat and we could just walk across the...

Great inn with jacuzzi. We stayed in one of their log cabins, and it stayed warmer than the other ones I've stayed in even though it was winter, and we got more than 2 feet of snow. Like everyone said, Gary (and Liz) on the front desk were especially delightful to talk. Their social skills are what I hope to...

We had two delicious dinners here and can't wait until we are back in New Hampshire so we can enjoy some more. The host was very engaging and we got the opportunity to speak with him both evenings. We checked out their cabins and it is our intention to stay there next year.

Kate,

As I was reading all reviews and trying to objective for my next vacation, I came across your review for New England Inn. I haven't been there and cant respond about the service although I do read the reviews from Trip Advisor faithfully when planning a trip. They are very helpful when determining my lodging and dinner choices. It is important to me what people say in their objective professional reviews. Many of us use this website to help make good choices/decisions based on these comments as they should, it is a public forum to share activities and honest objective comments. I read your profile and realized your only comment/review or anything on Trip Advisor was this one negative review because you were unable to make a donation to use the pool because you had lost your job. I sympathize although feel this was not the forum for this. Clearly you did go there several times prior without issue, one bad day does not warrant this public comment and you would know this from customer service. I only post this because I am tired of having to weed through comments like this where it is more personal not objective. I am going to assume the property is nice as you were going to have your family stay there prior, that bit of information IS helpful. If good enough for family then pretty nice for me. I am sure there are others who feel the same, the reviews don't have to be glowing although they should be helpful, not personal for many of us who use the Trip Advisor website routinely as a privilege and don't abuse it.

Sorry for venting but I have spent hours looking for lodging and don't have time to read things which are not of value.
