Visited while staying at the hotel for a last minute getaway… popped in for a cocktail before reservations elsewhere and stayed for the most amazing buffalo brussel sprouts!! Great Aperol spritz, ambiance and service. Made our quick kid-free night even better!!!

Some ‘Inns’ in small school towns can feel a bit dated but I found the Exeter Inn to have a healthy combination of old school charm and modern comforts. Room was a good size and had everything you need to relax or do a bit of work and the bar/restaurant area was a good place to grab a bite or a drink to end the day. Staff was also incredibly nice and helpful/responsive to a few requests I had.

Did not live up to expectations and could have been so much better. Arrived to find the bathroom had not been cleaned. Got a room change and nether room looked like the photos - small, dark, basic furnishings. Breakfast was continental and very limited choice - all was in disposable packaging and self-service - not what you expect from this standard of hotel. Ate in the restaurant one night, but also very disappointing in terms of food quality and service.

Was here for 2 nights to drop off my child at school, this Inn is practically on campus. Lots of parking, simple but comfortable rooms, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is muffin, yogurt, fruit, simple but nice and quick to start off morning. Restaurant was not open during the nights I was there but staff had helpfully called around and made a handout with all the local restaurants that would be open for the holiday weekend with hours.

Got there Sunday. Found that the restaurant (which is very good) and bar are closed on Sundays and Mondays. We stayed multiple days. Housekeeping did not do any maintenance in the room. They used to place cookies on your desk and candy on your pillow, every night. That is no longer done. It did add a nice touch. You will pay a premium price to stay at this hotel, but it is starting to get a bit run down. Front desk take a credit card upon arrival, for "incidentals". Well, when the receipt was slipped under the door on departure day, there was a $10 "facility fee" , per day, on the bill. Woman at front desk could not accurately describe exactly what a "facility fee" was. I think they are having trouble making a profit nowadays. Not my fault.

The room and the settings were fine, although the Covid restrictions here were stricter than any other accommodations on our trip, perhaps due to staffing[?]: a sorry breakfast offering of yogurt and fruit and some generic muffins, and a tired or depleted coffee service: when the hotel is full...really?! Mostly I think they could up their game with a better breakfast/coffee/beverage service... They seem to have good service in the evening.

This is a quint place, with a unique feel. Do not expect all shiney new. But it is clean, happy with a local feel, and the beds are amazing. Our room was small but nice. The only decorating complaint would be the patchy wall paper. But I know that the school had to house kids there during Covid, so I get it. The bar/restuarnt looks nice, though we were out to our friends at night and did not try it, maybe next time. Nice patio area. We liked the local but euorpean feel, and will be back!

We stayed here while visiting our son at Phillips Exeter. You can't beat the proximity. It was a gorgeous inn. The room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean. We appreciated being able to enjoy the bar at night and the continental breakfast was very nice. Fresh baked muffins, deviled egg dip and plenty of other options. Check in staff was friendly and we will be back again!

love the Exeter Inn! We've stayed several times. It is a lovely historic property walking distance from the main street area in historic Exeter. Staff was extremely hospitable, rooms are clean and elegant, yet simple. The complimentary continental breakfast was a terrific addition. Everything you need for a stay.
