In the middle of Durham but feels totally out of the way in a great way. The reception was friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, super comfy, and stylish. The tavern where we got a late drink was also cozy & barn-wood tasteful without being to cute-- a perfect place for a light meal and/or a drink. I understand... More

Room was very clean and full of charm. Bed was comfortable - the only issue we had was our air conditioner didn't cool the room down enough for us. My mom's room next door was a good 5-10 degrees cooler. Other than that, very comfortable. Grounds are beautiful and breakfast was awesome !! Staff couldn't be nicer. Very homey and... More

We've stayed twice as part of our relocation to the area. Room 3 is over the reception area in the main house. Room 9 is in the bottom of the carriage house, and is one of their dog-friendly rooms. Both rooms are good sized, with sitting area & fireplace. Room 9 has a jet tub, Room 3 just has a... More

Finding an accessible B&B is always quite the challenge. The rooms were super with plenty of space for my wheel chair to move about. Great breakfasts and the dinners were above and beyond! Super friendly staff and the outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy a drink or dine.

My initial thought upon reserving a two night, mid-week stay at the Three Chimney Inn was how quaint and antique it must be expecting creaky wide pine floors, old plumbing and maybe a good dose of history during our stay. Imagine my surprise when we were warmly greeted and ensconced in a room with the best a/c, modern amenities and... More

I decided at the last minute to escape for one night. I reached Louise on the phone and she booked me a room (even though the inn was almost full for a wedding). I arrived and was given a warm welcome by Autumn and brought right to my room in the carriage house. What a beautiful surprise! A spacious room... More

This review is for the the lodging only, not the restaurant. The room was spacious and decorated for the time period. We stayed in room 9 in the carriage house, lower level. The room had a king size bed, TV, desk, dresser and a couple of chairs. Lighting was all lamps and low level. Would have liked a little more... More

This is our second visit definitely one of best ever places we have stayed. Rooms unique and 1649 old building used as bar and restaurant were top notch. Do not skip their breakfast. From check in thru departure this place was a joy. Easy walk to downtown and university.

We had a great stay in the Carriage House. Highly recommended. The food was just excellent. The potato encrusted Haddock was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will come again for a stay in the future.

Cannot say enough about how really wonderful this lovely inn is. From the minute we arrived we felt the extra attention to detail that the innkeepers apply to everything. After a couple of emails they were able to upgrade us by honoring a request for a larger room and put us into a newly redone room. It was beautifully updated.... More
