Well over 2/3 are seasonal rentals. Almost half are there year-round. Lots of destination trailers. Only 3 motorhomes including ours. Many have not been moved in years. Many do not even look like RV's any longer. We were there Saturday to Wednesday. The campground was mostly empty of people. Services are a minimum. They do not fill LP tanks but do have an exchange system (AmeriGas). Firewood and LP is supposed to be picked up at store. They were not that busy and we got it delivered but with lots of complaining. You also had to pay extra for WiFi and Cable. We only got cable. It had no premium stations. Also note there is no pool but a cold New England pond for swimming. We do not want either anyway. Please do not think this reflects on the campground and take it as humous anecdotes. There was a grumpy old man in a destination trailer that every time you walked down the road with dogs, he had to come out the first time and yell at you to keep the dogs off his site. After that he would stand in the window and glare at you sometime even step outside to glare. I suspect that was his only entertainment. I also am a grumpy old man but find more in life than that. We camped at Sandy Beach RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.…
First time camping here we went for a long weekend (3 nights)and we had a great time! Place was super clean and the staff was was very nice, and helpful answering any questions we had. Will definitely be back next year hopefully for a longer stay next time . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was impressed the minute we drove in and they did not disappoint. Owners and staff were friendly and helpful. They were observant and made recommendations to things they thought we might need or want. They provided fun activities for all ages. The sites were large and clean and the staff was always available to assist if needed. We had a great first stay and can't wait to book our next stay.
Tina went out of her way to assist us after hours with check-in and wood. The campground is clean and landscaped. The sites are spacious. The campground is close to town. Being off the beaten path, the campground is very quiet of traffic noise.
My family and I, plus about 9 other camping friends have been staying at Sandy Beach for the month of May since 2015. I am very disappointed to hear that corporate has more than doubled the rate for the month in 2023. It isn’t even in season and it will be sad that we won’t be able to start our camping season at Sandy Beach. Knowing that when we stay for the month, which has us there for more than 30 days; we have to pay for our own electricity. Now that the price has more than doubled, we and many others will not be spending our May at Sandy Beach. The company will be losing loyal customers and a guaranteed income for the month of May before many people have decided to take their camper out for the season.
Won’t go back. Seasonal site close to us ruined our outside enjoyment every nights. Swearing and obnoxious loud drunk campfire talk! Won’t go back and we’ll let our friends who camp /RV know to avoid Sandy Beach!
Overall a lovely spot, friendly staff and great location especially if you want the feeling of being in the middle of the forest with the trees, the wind and other campers around you all there for a fun relaxing time. The lake is lovely and the sound of the loons stirring. The site had everything I needed and was nicely maintained. I liked the place so much that I purchased a bunch of Sandy Beach memorabilia to commemorate my stay. I loved it.
Our 35 foot travel trailer was a bit hard to navigate through the trees but once we got the site set up it was nice to be able to see the trees out the beside you. There was ample space between sites that gave plenty or privacy. The camp ground itself was well away from the highway and was very peaceful.
We had a wonderful stay here in mid September for a family gathering, renting two cabins and one RV site. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach on the pond is very nice, although it was too chilly to swim at the time. The campground is nice and quiet during the night and early morning. The early Halloween celebration was such fun!
Loved this trip site was big and comfy. People where very nice. Everything was good!!! Would go back and loved the Halloween weekend. We handed out candy and got to see all the great costumes. The dance and dj was fun too.
