If you are staying in the Lake Winnipesaukee area consider having breakfast or dinner at the Kona Mansion Inn. The Inn is one of the grand old NH estates and very few people, even locals like ourselves, know that they serve breakfast. While there, view some of the photo albums, take a walk down to the lake, or play a...

I had not been there in 30 years and so I thought it would all be changed, but some places are timeless and this is one. If you are looking for a cookie cutter experience go to a chain hotel, but if you appreciate fine architecture and older homes, this is the place for you. Built by the same skilled...

We stayed at the Kona during our daughters wedding. The whole compound was rented for the wedding party and family. The wedding was held at the Castle in the Clouds and the convenience of staying at the Kona was near for everyone. Brian (our host) was awesome and so flexible with all aspects of our stay. He is a wonderful...

The entire place walked right out of 1970 with screens missing from numerous windows allowing a plethora of bugs to stay with us throughout the weekend. There was a family of ants living in the top floor bathroom and...

Okay, I stayed here for a couple days last summer. Oh my gawd...nasty! Definitely not "quaint"...just plain gross. I seriously get the chills just thinking about it, and we still joke about the place. The golf course and lake were not enough to make up for sleeping on a saggy matress that had to be 40 years old...dirty furniture (not...

I stayed with my wife at the Kona Mansion Inn during Bike Week at Laconia. We were originally going to stay in the cabins further down on the property, but we were attracted to the charm of the mansion. Accomodations were pleasant. It really is like staying as a guest in an old mansion. Rooms have small TV's, but with...
