HWH is an exemplary well-run B&B. The proprietor, Sandra, is diligent and attentive and has clearly put a huge effort over many years restoring and modernizing the house. I stayed in "Lila's Room" which I found to be spacious and comfortable. The bathroom layout was just slightly unusual, with the sink in the room instead of the bathroom, and a little odd layout for the toilet. But it was clean, modern, and spacious for a B&B. I remember one review complained that a street-facing room was too noisy. My room faced the street and I found it to be VERY quiet with just some faint road noise, and I am generally a light sleeper. I had one of the best sleeps of my adult life here, almost 11 hours, partly because I was pretty exhausted when I arrived here. The house itself was very quiet when I stayed, as the other guests were quiet and respectful. I really appreciated how everything at the house was neat, organized, and arranged for guest convenience. A fridge of sodas, a basket of snacks, a PC and printer available in the living room, extra masks if you need them. Wonderful breakfast in the morning with good COVID precautions. Stayed here for a weekend in October 2020. Thank you Sandra, I really had a lovely time here. You have done a remarkable job with the place.

We enjoyed nearly a week in the sewing room. The bathroom had lovely stained glass windows and the room was beautifully furnished and comfortable. There was always lots of coffee available (as early as we needed it) in the morning and a warm, filling breakfast was prepared for us each morning. The breakfast fueled us to get out into nature and hike in the area, explore the cute little towns around Lake Winne nearby and feel as though we had a good start to the day. On 2 separate nights we were back in the town of Bristol for dinner and enjoyed both meals at the local restaurants. Parking is easy in a private lot behind the house. On those evenings we were home early we would kick up our feet with a book (or roku on the television provided in the room) and sip on a soft drink (provided by the hostess in a fridge outside the room) to unwind before bed. We really enjoyed how calming and welcoming the house felt whenever we were there. This was our first time away from home since COVID pandemic. Our hostess ran an exceptionally clean property, was meticulous about wearing mask around the property, and made us feel very secure about staying there and interacting with her and the other guests. The biggest negative was having to say goodbye after our final breakfast!

The service was outstanding!! My husband is a very picky eater and the hostess went out of her way to ensure he ate well, including cooking him a specialized breakfast every morning. She was kind and made us feel at home. It would be a joy to stay there again!!

We took our 34 yr old daughter and my 84 year old mother for a weekend getaway. What an unexpected surprise! The attention to detail in the decor made it a a real historic experience while not being over the top. Very tastefully maintained and we really felt like we were in the lap of luxury. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms updated. We rented three rooms (Guest Room, Lillas Room and Weaver Room) and were extremely happy and slept soundly. And the breakfasts were high cuisine! Sandra has done what most B&B owners only dream about doing. The full experience! Thank you Sandra for engaging with us as well. We really felt like special guests. We went apple picking at Cardigan Mountain Orchard (15 minute drive) and loved browsing at Twin Designs gift shop downtown, a 4 minute walk from the B&B. We are definitely planning a return visit, perhaps to rent out the entire home for a family reunion!
