My husband and I stayed here 2 nights to go leaf peeping in White Mountains NP. The family that has owned this place for decades are super friendly and helpful.(we left a pillow from home with extremely sentimental pillow case and they are mailing to us) Great recommendations for restaurants in area. Our cabin was very clean and cozy. Everything we needed in kitchen-full frig, coffee pot and wine opener! We loved having a fire in the room and he was pleased with the tv. I adored walking around the property-the pictures are from the area around our cabin. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to New Hampshire. Note: my 6’4” husband was challenged in the small bathroom but he said it was worth the happiness this adorable cottage gave me!
Excellent stop. Great little cottage that was fun, and kind of made you think you were in a fairy tale. My wife and I bought a log for the fire place and enjoyed listening to the crackle. Very cozy, great bed, good wifi, just a top notch classy place that you can not go wrong. Wished I owned this group of cottages. Very unique and fun experience.
Rented one of the cabins with a friend for a weekend. It was immaculate. While interior is nothing fancy but it’s all you need for a cozy getaway. Beautiful working fireplace, small kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave, coffee pot, utensil), two full size beds, small table. Only problem is no room for second car.
I had stumbled across the Hearthside Cottages when researching places to stay on our recent New England Road Trip. I was smitted at first sight, and promply booked cabin#17 for two nights. This made an excellent base as we were going on two nearby railroads; the Conway Secnic Railway and the Mount Washington Cog Railroad. These rustic cabins exceeded my expectations in comfort, cleaniness and I loved having a fire in my fireplace both evenings.
If you are a traveler who prefers the unusual and unique you must stay here. We each have our little house and we each, for a time live in the 1940s or 50s. Everything is very clean and the owners very .accomadating. unlike the 40s, 50s and 60s there are flat screen TV and internet.
This was such a nice alternative to staying at a hotel while visiting the White Mountains. It is located between two towns that both offer nice restaurants to eat at. It is owned and run by a very nice family who were very friendly and helpful. Our cottage had a kitchen area which was great as we could make a nice breakfast before starting our day out. The cottages are very conveniently located to the many attractions in the White Mountains including Franconia notch and Mount Washington.
We wanted to try a new location for our annual family trip to Storyland and Santa’s Village. The cottage (#6) was quaint and perfect for us. The kids slept on a trundle bed in the front room. The main bedroom had a great king bed. Kitchen and bathroom are tiny but add to the quaintness of the place. Great grounds - playground and picnic tables. Our cabin didn’t have a fireplace but stayed plenty warm even on a 30 degree night. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a wonderful stay in a small group of beautiful, rustic and unique cottages nestled in the mountains of New Hampshire. They are quite likely something your not going find anywhere else. The service was friendly and Steve provided excellent recommendations for places to eat in the area. Built in the 1920's and 1940's the cottages' charm take you back in time when things were simpler.
We arrived at hearthside and thought wow, this is different and we weren`t dissapointed. These cottages are different but that`s whats makes them quirky. Spent 2 nights here. Yes the shower is small but thats whats so nice about them. The owners where so helpful with advice on where to eat what to see and about the history of the cottages. The son spent time with us and nothing was to much trouble.
We were looking for somewhere for a nights stay and stumbled across this cosy motel. Lovely owners, happy to supply you with a hairdryer, coffee or whatever you might need or have forgotten. These are original individual units, dating from the 1940's and pretty much original. A very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and nice and quiet, what’s not to like. Well worth the very reasonable cost. We would happily stay again
