Detailed Reviews
This is a charming Inn., reminding me of a retro motor court. The owner's have taken pride in how cute each room is with a Western theme. My room was clean and had a comfortable bed with three large pillows to choose from. The inside looks updated and fresh. It has a microwave, mini refrigerator/freezer. AC worked well. The grounds are nicely landscaped with flowers, shrubs and a giant peach tree. A picnic table is offered in the back overlooking the mountains and parts of Virginia City. In the late morning a wild horse came by to eat some grass in the nice back area of the hotel. Later, I spotted the herd of eight about two blocks from the Inn. By the way, the owners have opened another Inn they recently built just down the road.

As part of a long road trip, we recently spent one night at this cute little motel in Virginia City. The location is great as it is on main street just before the town. We were in the Wild Horse Room (#9) which had a king bed, table, two wooden chairs, microwave and refrigerator. It wasn't anything real fancy but very nicely decorated, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room has outside entry, and there is a nice backyard area with a beautiful view. The customer service is great. There is no breakfast served, but a restaurant that does serve breakfast is close by. Just for information, when we were there all but two restaurants (only one is dog friendly) close by 4:00 p.m. The highlight of my stay was seeing many wild horses around town. We had a fun experience, and I would definitely recommend the Virginia City Inn when visiting the area.

I stayed there two nights in May, 2024, it's only 1/2 mile from main street in Virginia City. All the rooms were themed and I chose CIVIL WAR. Beautiful, clean and very comfortable room at a good price. Extras that really impressed me were a couple big books on the Civil War and two caps (one for each army) and a small bugle hanging on the wall. I highly recommend Virginia City Inn. Try to arrive in daytime, it's a lot easier to get into the room. - Harry A.

The original stay was booked for the Virginia City Inn...however, when we got there, we requested a different room. The owner was the one who checked us in and provided a different room at the Silver Mountain Retreat. We couldn't have been happier. The place was absolutely beautiful. A full apartment suite with 2 bedrooms, a very well done bathroom, living room and a full size kitchen. We had a wonderful 3 night stay and plan on going back soon!

We stayed in the Inn's largest suite, the Cowboy's Hideaway, for four nights. It was great to have a lot of room to spread out. While we didn't plan to really cook, we used the kitchen more than we'd anticipated, as we had leftovers from several restaurant meals. It's just on the edge of town and has a peaceful back yard overlooking a valley, and a view that goes on for miles. The suite has its own little porch in front, too. The owners are warm and helpful people, and made us feel very welcome.

This is a clean establishment which is a big plus. There were, however, some flaws that might leave you second guessing if this is the right place for you or your family. We had one room plus one of the apartments for our stay. Cleanliness, 5 out of 5 stars for both rooms. The apartment though had a few issues. The fold out couch bed along with the pullout murphy bed that was in a cabinet contraption were both broken. From a noise standpoint, because of the age of this motel, the walls were very thin and we were subjected to noise from both rooms. Between our regular room, #13 on the other side of the property, we were subjected on both sides to obnoxious and lewd drunks who came and went until well after 2:30 in the morning. They say the rule of this motel is that they observe quiet time after 10 PM, but realistically, this is a pretty hard rule to enforce. A no frills place such as no kleenex in both, or a closet in the regular room. All in all, ok if you hit it on a good night, but could be a problem if you don't.

This is a perfect place to stay in Virginia City. It’s only a 3 minute walk to the center of town. We stayed in the two bedroom unit and it was clean, large and updated. It was great to have the kitchen since we were there for the car show and restaurants were busy. It had very cool decor and the back deck looked out to a beautiful view with the most amazing sunsets. I will absolutely stay here again. The entire property was clean and there was good parking onsite and on the street.

We loved staying here. The Inn was clean and updated and our room was perfect. We had the Civil War room and the room had everything we needed. We loved the back grassy area and even got to see wild horses outside our window one morning! The Inn Keepers were very nice and always helpful. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again next trip!

I didn't realize that they provided room service everyday. Left to go to breakfast, came back, and the cleaning person had gone through my suitcase and travel bag. I don't blame the owners, but we stayed there three more days, and this cleaning person was still working there.

This was our first time staying here, and it was great! Clean room, comfy bed, wild horses in the yard, and close to town. The only bummer was paying extra for the dog every day. Lots of places only charge a one time fee. But we will definitely stay there again!!
