We are in VC for a few days, visiting some Locations that have paranormal activity, as my husband is really into it. We are staying here at the Virginia City Inn for the first time, and we love it. Staff is great, rooms are clean and spacious. Grounds are well landscaped, and we can drive to town in less than 1 minute. Rooms have coffee pots, refrigerators, and microwaves. No utensils or plates so get em at the market at the TV park in town, or stop somewhere before coming up the mountain. We brought snacks and drinks, and its working out great! We will definitely stay here again!

The owners are super nice. We got in before they had the rooms cleaned so they rushed to get the one we rented, The Civil War Room, which is the handicapped accessible room, ready for us. Mom was very happy in there. She kept saying how clean everything was and how pretty. I slept on a cot which, once I got an extra comforter that I placed on top of the mattress, was just fine. The beds are made with military precision, even the cot which I don't know how they managed because I tried to save them some work by making it myself the next day and I just made a mess. Came back to find it made so spot on perfect it looked more like a drawing than a cot. It's got an awesome view out the back with little places to sit and even a tetherball if you feel like burning off some energy. We liked it so much we already booked it again for next year!

At the last minute we opted to visit Virginia City. We read some reviews of the Virginia City Inn and just knew it would be perfect for us and they did not disappoint. David helped with the booking and was pleasant and helpful. We were in luck for a Saturday night to get a King size room. The rooms are theme decorated, and # 3 was the Silver Screen Cowboy. Nice size room, comfortable bed, had a desk and small counter area just inside the room. The bathroom was adequate, smaller shower, however was OK and the water was nice and hot. No complaints there. The heater worked real good. You can park right in front of your room. The room has a window that faces the 100-mile distant view of the mountains. The motel sits just on the edge of town which you can see from the parking lot. You can either walk (about 1/4 mile) or drive. We saw 1 wild mustang walking the streets. We did drive to Silver City and Gold City where we saw 5 wild mustangs in the flat valley area. Book that motel, you will be glad you did.

This is a very well kept property with individually styled nicely decorated rooms. Its about a 15 minute walk to downtown but be aware that things close early in September (or later) so plan ahead if you want food - and take a coat as the temperature drops quickly at this altitude after sundown in early autumn. A few bars do stay open after 9 p.m. Near to the motel The Cider House turned out to be good for food but its not a big place so best to book ahead. At the back of the motel is a little garden with a swing seat which was pleasant to sit in and take in the view. The room with the Jacuzzi needs a little planning ahead to use to get enough hot water to cover the jets. Best to sell it as just a bath until it is resolved. This was a negative but there were a lot more positives about the place so I would stay here again as its a great base to explore the area from.

Nice place with owners who seem to have a lot of passion in what they are doing. Nice decorated rooms with everything you need for a few days stay in Virginia City. Well located just on the outskirts of the center of VC. For some reason it was very challenging to find a proper place for dinner when we were visiting because most places were closed. Possible that this is seasonal and that the selection is better during the period June-August (we were there in September). Be aware of varying size of e.g. fridge and freezer compartment between the individual rooms. If you have a lot of food with you, you should ask about this when checking in. The only negative aspect with he VC Inn is the WIFI which was completely useless. I took this up with the owner and he told me he had some IT-guys to look at it, but without much result. But if the socalled IT-experts can`t solve it you cant blame the owner for it either, he does the best he can. Other than that I can strongly recommend VC Inn and hope to visit again soon.
