Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the Carriage House for six nights this July. It was wonderful! The Carriage House is a small house up the hill from the main hotel; it has its own parking area, full kitchen, and small balcony in addition to the bench on the front porch. Paul is an attentive host who really cares about the property and the comfort of his guests. We were able to walk to all the main attractions and restaurants in VC. Breakfast is in the bar of the hotel, which is a short walk through the well-maintained garden of the hotel. The choices for breakfast were very nice, with a variety of different items each day, including fresh fruit. The Carriage House is on a very quiet residential street, so sleeping was not a problem. I highly recommend the Tahoe House Hotel!

Late review because... life lol. We stayed at this beautiful hotel for one night on 9/8. This hotel is run kind of like a B & B. Small with very personal attention. The attention to detail is amazing! Right down to the real "old timey" keys used to open the bedroom doors :) We were greeted by the owner Paul who checked us in seated in his office (another appreciated personal touch). We had a balcony room overlooking main st, the room was large, clean and beautiful (again so much attention to detail in the furnishings giving you the feel of being back in time. Speaking of that, there is no air conditioning in this hotel so be prepared for that if you're staying in the summer. There are several fans available ). Paul was very informative about local history, the history of his hotel (and really seemed to love talking about it), gave dining suggestions, attraction suggestions, we even got a complimentary cocktail (served by, you guessed it, Paul himself) in the beautiful bar/dining room. The next morning there was a continental breakfast (pastries, coffee, orange juice, cereal, etc). Paul was again present for breakfast, he saw us struggling to find alternate routes on our fold out paper map (yes we are that old lol) for our drive to Vancouver WA trying to avoid all of the fires in Northern California, he was kind enough to take the time to suggest possible routes and even things to see along the way! On top of this amazing hotel, Virginia City is just a fun little town to visit. We will definitely be back to stay at Tahoe House again in the near future! Thank you Paul for being such a kind host!

Just wanted to add another 5 star review to the already long list. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Paul and Brianna recently during a visit to Virginia City and they invited us back for a stay.
We made the reservation on line (very easy).....and on the morning of our arrival received a very nice personal welcoming text. Upon our arrival, Paul welcomed us in as if we were old friends. He escorted us to our room and showed us the layout. We booked the Bonanza Room which had a balcony overlooking the main street. The room was a classic 1800's western style room, with all the modern amenities.....and tons of charm! The bed was super comfortable, the room extremely clean and very accommodating. Now keep in mind, this is not your local Marriott or Best Western, but a very modern twist to a 19th century hotel. All the furniture and fixtures are of the time period throughout the entire property.
Another nice feature to this property is it's location. It is in the middle of town with easy access to the Main Street (C Street). You can visit all the Virginia City attractions on foot from this location.
Included in the price is a welcome drink at the on site lobby bar, as well as a very well stocked continental breakfast the following morning.
There's not much else we can add except to validate all the other 5 star reviews listed below.
Paul and Brianna....thank you again for the hospitality and we look forward to our already booked reservation in December!

As soon as I found out my dear friend was getting married at the Pipers Opera house I immediately called Paul, the owner to book a room.
I have several paranormal friends who stay here and it’s been on my To Do list to stay a couple of nights! One is never long enough. I booked the Bonanza Room, it’s the second largest with a balcony over looking Main Street! It has a very nice outdoor sitting area with chairs, coffee table size and a full size umbrella.
The room is spotless with super nice amenities such as homemade soap and a cute little ribbon around the TP. The room has a small TV which my husband loves. The Continental Breakfast is very nice with pastries from a very well known bakery called Paul Schat’s with fresh fruit, orange juice, toast (raisin, English muffins, and sorted bread).
The hotel has a beautiful backyard with gorgeous green grass and super nice lawn chairs with tables too. The lobby area where the bar is has a nice big balcony to sit at while enjoying your breakfast!
If you’re into paranormal like me. You will definitely find some activity going on all good energy. The spirits like to let me know they’re there. The screws came out of my stool while having the most amazing welcome drink! Paul’s wife Bri makes spectator drinks with fresh ingredients. You’ll want to try another one. Also, the orange juice lid popped off unexpectedly. It’s never happened before, but always a first for everything.
They don’t have any rooms with double beds, but they have pop up air beds for the extra guest or kids. The location is walking distance to everything especially two super good restaurants Del Rio Mexican and Cider Factory (Parmesan crusted chicken with the lemon Chadannay sauce to die for!!!) I wish they had an ice machine, but you can go ask Bri for a cup of ice. I would encourage you to book this hotel!! You will love it!!!

My husband and I were splendidly surprised at how beautiful The Tahoe House is. We love that it is centrally located on the Virginia Boardwalk strip, easy to get to shops and restaurants. Paul from the very beginning of us booking a room, was so polite and helpful! It was a special trip for us being our Anniversary. Paul had a complimentary bottle of champagne with a handwritten note congratulating us on our Anniversary. He even had white rose petals on our bed, when we arrived. The whole experience was so beautiful. The Tahoe House was over the top when we noticed hand baked goods and fruit, expresso, coffee, orange juice etc. We will definitely will be booking a room many times in the near future. THANK YOU Tahoe House!!!! I wish there were 100 Stars for you! Thank you Paul and Brie!

First time back to Virginia City in over 50 years,I was very small. By accident we ended up at Tahoe House Hotel and are so thrilled we did! The hotel is smack in the middle of everything. Step out its door onto the boardwalk and go in any direction and explore history, shops, bars, restaurants, tours and more.
The hotel is 15 wonderful rooms plus a private cottage in back. It also has a full bar and you can sit on its balcony and enjoy your breakfast or afternoon drink while watching everything below happening. Some of the rooms have own balcony looking at the action below but we had a wonderful little room in back by its backyard garden area. Step out back and get some quiet time in the patio grass area and even got to have a smoke in back while enjoying our cocktails.
Paul, the owner, watches every little detail and has your needs and time there his priority!
Architecture is wonderful with high ceilings and in room baths and fans as well as tv! Lots of artifacts and architectural detail adds to the ambiance. I can't imagine staying anywhere else!! One couple we met had left their hotel that was highly rated everywhere but very disappointed with its location. They stayed here and like us couldn't believe what a difference and wonderful surprise!
I highly recommend staying here and you will regret if you dont!

Highly recommend this historical hotel! The perfect place to stay for the Virginia City experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, beds comfy, balcony perfect for enjoying the evening’s cool breeze or breakfast in the morning. With direct access down the stairs to the main business/entertainment street you’re walking distance to everything. Add the hospitality of the gracious hosts and it’s an all around wonderful experience. We will definitely return!

This is our second time staying here. Clean, comfortable rooms. Splurge for the cottage/carriage house if you can - such a charming little place. The little touches of the complimentary welcome craft cocktail, the local soaps in the bathroom, fluffy towels, and soft white linens make the stay even better.

The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated with many of authentic, thoughtful details. Everything is fresh and clean. Paul and Bree, the owners, have a knack for hospitality and everything speaks of their personal touch. From the craft cocktails at the lobby bar (open to the public but not crowded or busy) to the breakfast offerings in their spacious lobby, this hotel is the perfect place to gather with friends. The staff are so accommodating and kind. The outside is thoughtfully arranged with patio furnishings and a peaceful bubbling fountain so that guests can enjoy the mountain air. This is truly a special place.

The Tahoe House Hotel exceeded out expectations in every way. The service was impeccable! The owners and staff went out of their way to anticipate our needs and accommodate our requests. The breakfast was punctual and plentiful with a wide variety of choices and the afternoon refreshments were a hit with the kids. The hotel is spacious, squeaky clean and picturesque. The rooms are charming with high ceilings, comfortable beds, and boutique toiletries. Their impressive attention to detail was a consistent theme throughout our stay. We enjoyed coffee in the private garden and craft cocktails on the balcony overlooking the main drag. We're looking forward to visiting again!

parking Is scarce on a busy weekend... they do have 2 dedicated spots for the hotel in the back of the property... need to drive the rd behind tahoe house to find them otherwise it's just street parking and again I suggest the rd behind the hotel ... hope this helps
