A great vintage hotel. If you are looking for frills this is not the place for you. The rooms are small but are authentic to the early 1900s when the hotel was built. We stayed on the 5th floor which is the haunted floor but found no ghosts. Make sure you use the original elevator--in use for over 100 years.

Really very good overall. I will be picky though. For me it is over-renovated, too perfect. The 'test' for me is that rooms have electronic key access rather than proper keys. I was surprised to be refused check-in until 3pm and had to wait another 20mins for the room to be ready. Still, a wonderful hotel

Though we have stayed in Tonopah before, this was our first visit to the Mizpah. The stories of The Lady in Red were intriguing but we didn't experience any paranormal activity.... Our second floor room was small but very comfortable; the bed was just right and the bedding and towels were great. It would have been nice to have a... More

We stopped here for a night on our way to Lake Tahoe after flying into Las Vegas. What a pleasant surprise! This 1907 hotel was fully restored in 2011. The period furnishings, cleanliness, history, great restaurant, and ghost stories :) all endeared us to this place! We visited the interesting Tonopah gold and silver mine located behind the hotel which... More

Mizpah is a special experience. The new owners have really succeeded to restore the early 1900's grandeur and finesse to the hotel. The place breathes history. After the front door you step a 100 years back in time when entering the huge beautifully decorated lobby and bar hall ..... Unfortunately the quality of services didn't match the magic of the... No housekeeping done second day, when reported this to front desk they bought towels to the room, while we were at dinner, but no one bothered to make bed, or take dirty towels. Told us when checked out would give us 12.00 off bill, but when credit card came, no credit was given, we were charged full amount. Bed was... More

Thank you so much for your comments. While Housekeeping is one of the strongest aspects of the Mizpah, we obviously failed to take care of you properly. Equally as disappointing to me is the lack of follow up when you brought this to our attention. Please accept our deepest apologies. Housekeeping typically does a spectacular job and we'll be sure... The rooms are great and I was surprised at how modernized the place was. The Mizpah was built in 1907 but it has top of the line air conditioning, bathtub, toilet and even the windows are newer double planed. They even have magnetic entrance keys. They did a wonderful job of keeping the old world charm while giving the guest... More

What a great place to stop over for a long drive from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe! It was a step back in time and the rooms depicted the era of 1907. We decided to eat at their restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was delicious. I had the chicken fried chicken. I thought I had stepped back in... More

On our recent road trip in August 2016 we stopped in for lunch and want to say it was fantastic, Very clean, friendly service, and the food was great. Also a very wide menu. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone passing through. Great location right in the middle of town. Great historical pictures and document to look at on... More
