Poor lighting in rooms lights would not adjust to read. AC would not cool room was noisy and ran 24/7. Around desk rude 90% of the time would be ignored when waiting to ask a question, yet they pick up the phone instead Elevator's have a mind of there own had many rides up and down several floors going past the floor requested
What a great hotel. Our room was spacious a d bed was so comfortable. We stayed on the club level(money well spent). The continental breakfast concierge was outstanding Shaine is really welcoming and I wanted for nothing. She was attentive , friendy and made my experience with this hotel 10 stars. But to be honest each and every staff member was just so friendly and accommodating. Valet was great and brought our car several times and even got our charger out of the car. Really nice. This is my forever reno hotel. Thank you to all the staff that made our trip so enjoyable.
We found the hotel to be very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and a spacious room featuring a lounge chair and long desktop surface. The staff was courteous and responded to our request for a microwave in the room. It is apparently one of a few hotels that doesn't have a casino and we appreciated that. Our conference group utilized the very large rooms for talks and dinner. The only thing I found odd was that you couldn't access the stairs to go to your rooms (stairs are for emergency only) so the elevators were very crowded when our large group ended events.
My husband and I stayed here for a conference. This is a non-smoking hotel, but our room smelled like smoke. The staff offered to move us to a different room (after we had unpacked) but we opted to stay. Our room was well outfitted and roomy, but the bathtub was dirty and the handle to turn on the water is one of those that takes a magician to work. Those kind should be outlawed. We opted to pass on housekeeping until the third day, put out the "Please clean" sign and discovered no one came by. Not sure what we needed to do to get the room cleaned. The small fridge is nice, but the freezer needed defrosting and froze most of our food. Checking in was easy, but unloading our gear was a pain. The garage is half a block away so you have to unload at the curb, if you can find a cart, and check in to get your parking pass. After you take your stuff to your room, come back to your vehicle and park it. I needed a shower after all that! In addition, there are only emergency stairs so you're forced to take the elevator and there were long waits. We got an email asking us to review our stay, but when we opened it it was a marketing tool asking us what drinks we liked, when our anniversary was, and other personal questions that had nothing to do with our stay. I guess they aren't really interested. This is a hotel that caters to active climbers (one floor is a climbing gym), so maybe if you fit that category you'd want to stay here, but not us.…
Checked in on September 4th by 2 rude women at the desk. We never get a slipper we asked for. The bell staffs were on their phone and care to help the guests. However, the location is convenient. Encountered with some cleaning ladies. They are way more friendly and professional than other staff in this hotel. Never come back this hotel.
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel three times in the past 5 years and have always had a wonderful stay. Although some of the other reviews may be right about the rooms being a little “stayed,” they are always immaculate, more spacious than average, and comfortable. The parking garage is not the most convenient since it is a few blocks away, but we always make it work. The folks at reception have always been friendly and professional. Meals at the restaurant have been delicious and in generous portions. We were very sad to see that the restaurant no longer allows for outdoor dining unless it’s a “special event”. It’s fun to run into other guests’ dogs. I might normally give this hotel only a four star review but feel want to add the extra star to counteract so many bad reviews which I don’t quite understand. We would be happy to come back!…
The rooms were extremely hot with horrible air conditioning and were dirty. We had a towel in the bathroom that was torn and dirty and the customer service Was horrible until they had realized that we were staying in one of the sweets! Do not waste your time or money on this hotel as it is a one star hotel that charges five star prices!!!
Restaurant is superb, large portions and very nice staff Front desk staff is ok, a few acted like it was a five-star hotel in Paris. I also overheard them gossiping about other guests. The A/C in the room is placed horribly. It literally blows right into our face and it was dusty. So, we slept hot and then turned on the A/C in the morning.
After spending 600.00 for 2 night and having a room that was 79 deg. is the worst. Many people said the same thing. They try to patch it together, but the last night there we had to go by a fan just to sleep that night. I sent an email to the hotel, but no response back. I felt they really don't care.
We have visited Reno before and Whitney Peak is always our go to hotel. I reached out to Matina last minute in hopes of adding the celebration package to our reservation for a birthday, and she quickly responded and took care of the rest. I highly recommend these fun and creative room packages! Additionally, Ashley was amazing in the lounge area. She creates a fun atmosphere, offers wonderful recommendations, and takes the time to connect with the guests. Overall great experience thanks to Matina, Ashley, and the concierge team!
