Arrived for two nights, hotel is fun and staff are service oriented. If you want cleaning you need to request 24 hours in advance. We used the hotel retro bikes for morning rides. Breakfast was tasty. Service is a bit slow. Lounge is noisy. Hotel area has many cute stores and restaurants

This is a turn key Destination, High end stylish Hotel, Luxury Spa and fitness center, High end The Shore Restaurant and bar, Executive lounge with morning breakfast and evening canapés, Huge Bocci gaming area, many other activity games, bar and pub grub. The moment I walked I felt like family. The front desk staff, were super friendly and helpful. The Bell Captain was much more than luggage helpful, great area tour guide and local expert. I even met the Director of operations and GM of the hotel who paid attention to every detail of my stay. I Love this place so much I moved permanently!

What a pleasant surprise in Downtown Reno for our stay April 1st - 3rd. The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel and Spa was so much more than I had hoped for, and I will be returning for sure. The appearance of the hotel was great, but the high level customer service and detail to the positive visitor experience was simply outstanding. And they have Bocce ball too boot....awesome! It wasn't just one person either, it started with the immediate greeting at the door, to the spa staff that were in the lobby offering free massages, all the way to the front desk staff. The entire environment shined with excellence. I want to recognize one person who really helped make our stay so special. Ben at the front desk was always there to answer my questions, and accommodate our needs with a smile. As a Marriott rewards member, I asked if it was possible to get a comp upgrade for our room, and he took such great care of us. What an amazing room!! It wasn't just him providing the room for us, but his above and beyond effort to make sure we were satisfied and happy with our stay made a huge difference with our entire hotel experience. It's people like Ben that truly represent a brand and inspire customers to want to come back and enjoy another stay. I really appreciated him and the entire Renaissance staff's hospitality! Thank you for this great experience, and I look forward to the next.

I've stayed at this Marriott Renaissance hotel a number of times for business. Always had a clean room with a comfortable bed. The bar is always fun and lively, sometimes with live music. I usually eat at their Shore restaurant, and it's always very tasty!

Beautiful hotel. Renovated (except for elevator). Reserved a king suite ($400). Arrived and room was not available (we were early). Clerk (blond female) offered us a king corner instead. "It's the same square footage, near the elevator." My wife asked if the elevator noise is a problem. "No, because the bathroom blocks that noise." The problem is they have the loudest elevator I've heard, and I am a business traveler. The elevator makes a noise every 20 seconds that sounds like a cross between a grinder and a motorboat. All night. No sleep. No other room available. The noise is unacceptable, but the clerk knew and duped us into paying $400 for no sleep. We complained the next morning and got the room we had reserved, but the clerk was not surprised by our noise complaint. DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM NEAR THE ELEVATOR. And no. No apology. No sympathy. No discount.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. It is unfortunate you feel tricked into taking an alternate room upon your early arrival. It was never anyone's intention to assign you an inferior room. The noise has been remedied.

I traveled for business and stayed here for 4 nights. Very accommodating front desk team. I had the riverview room 724, nice view but I think Mountainview is so much better with the snow capped mountains in the distance. Food is tasty at the Shore. Lounge has different menu everyday. Will definitely stay here again. House keeping is good.

Thank you for your kind remarks. As much as guests request to have a view on the river, we do also hear from those that stay on the mountain side of the hotel and are pleasantly surprised. Next time ask us for directions and you can catch a beautiful glimpse of Lake Tahoe after taking a 25-minute drive.

The Renaissance Hotel in downtown Reno was well worth the price. It is very close to all the casinos and at the same time it is very quite and well-maintained. Do not be intimidated by the year it was built, since it was recently renovated and has all the modern amenities, including the USB ports. The Shore restaurant is acclaimed for the quality of food, and they have breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. We had breakfast and it was very good. Thank you, Christy!
But, what caused me to write this review even before I checked out was the personnel. Emily at Reception Desk checked us in early, and made sure that we were well taken care of with every request that me made. Emily, you are the BEST! Also, Austin helped with some of our questions. The River view from the 8th floor is spectacular! The room is great and the hotel was a safe haven comparing to the hotels with casinos, noise and smoke. If you like quite luxury, you will not regret it - stay at Renaissance Hotel Reno Downtown!

This contemporary hotel has a thoughtful, fresh, and interesting decor. The staff is friendly, the River view (with the recent rains) was pleasant, and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurant, however, was unexpectedly good. At one lunch and one breakfast I ordered 8-minute eggs, and both days they were done perfectly (neither runny nor hard), I appreciated the luncheon salad with kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and cranberries, which I supplemented with sliced avocado. My wife ordered a cheeseburger (“one of the best I’ve had”). From the dinner menu, small plates are available, and we ordered grilled octopus (fresh, and very well prepared), Greek style meat balls in tomato sauce, grilled lamb, and a beet salad with goat cheese. All excellent. Highly recommend!

Greetings from Reno and The Renaissance - I am so pleased to read your comments. The amount of rain we received put us on the national news - I agree, it was quite pleasant! We take pride in operating our "hotel restaurant" as a 'surprise and delight' amenity to our guests and attract locals alike. I can't wait to ask our Chef about how to precisely prepare an 8-minute egg. Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to write this. Your generous comments have already been shared. Please, come again - thank you.

Here for just one night. No shower head! I’m not sure if that’s for all rooms. The shower door doesn’t seal well and water gets all over the place. They only give u one washcloth. I know I could have called and gotten more, but you’d think they’d have two in a room. Refrigerator doesn’t stay cold. AC works but push the drapes up so u can have the air go into the room not behind the drapes. The wifi sucks. Pros the bed and pillows were good. Front desk was nice. The room was clean.

Hello, and thank you for the detailed account of your experience. If you feel comfortable by replying to this with your room number, it would be helpful, or, please write me directly at vsavini@renaissancereno.com . A room without a showerhead seems impossible. We definitely would like to get into this particular room to do a dep dive on our standards. Of course, we do this with all of our rooms, but would appreciate the chance to get on top of all of this. I thank you very much for your time.

I stayed here for 8 nights for work. Overall, would recommend to Reno visitors since I hate smoking hotels and this hotel is non smoking. A few good, a few bad: Pros: great front desk service, good central location, beautiful lobby, very straightforward self parking policy. Cons (and these are major ones): poor WiFi signal (stayed in two rooms, more on that later and it was truly awful in both). IF you need to do real work, I would say the WiFi is not up to snuff. Had to change rooms from floor 4 because with the smoky conditions outside and the pool doors being unsealed, it was very easy for smoke to seep into the room. Last quirk is a minor one, but I’m not a fan of rooms with noisy, bulky clunky AC wall units, which I was honestly surprised this hotel had, instead of a more seamless central AC.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at The Renaissance Reno. In regards to the Wi-Fi, we hear you. We are in the process of a major upgrade that should be complete soon. In addition, our HVAC units are also in a phased project that will eventually replace all units to the newest models on the market. As you noticed, the building requires units in each room rather than a centralized system. We are on it. Again, we thank you so much for choosing The Renaissance, and notes such as yours keep us continually improving. Safe travels.
