Avi Resort & Casino is met with mixed feedback regarding its offerings. While the hotel's amenities, such as the beach, pool, and arcade, are often praised, the service has received inconsistent reviews, with reports of both friendliness and rudeness. Cleanliness is generally approved of in communal areas, but guests have called out the need for improved maintenance in the rooms. Opinions on value diverge; some find the pricing fair, yet others feel the cost is not reflective of their experience.

I recently stayed at Avi. I stay several times a year. I know that Covid has changed things but the handling of Covid is a direct result of management. At Avi it isn’t being handled well. We were disappointed when pulling in that Valet was closed. But more disappointed when you couldn’t even pull into the Valet area to unload your car! Why? It’s the only shaded spot. Plus the surrounding area had signs to not unload in that area! Why! No bellman service, and you can’t unload near the Hotel! We tried and tried and couldn’t get a luggage cart. We finally had to ask for a manager. Waited outside for 30 minutes for one to be brought out. Avi clearly needs to order more carts!! When I complained to the clerk at check-in about the lack of bellman, she rudely stated that her and the other clerks hope the bellman don’t come back!!! Then she stated she had to hear it all. I pointed out to her that she would be the person checking in guests would vent to as she is our only contact person, hoping she would relay concerns to management. We finally made it to our room. The room was made up but no toilet paper and no wash cloths. Getting wash cloths seemed to be a problem during our whole stay. Do we need to order wash cloths? We later while at the pool saw a man wheel a luggage cart with ice chests, beach umbrella, etc out to the river!! How many employees did he pass to do this and not be stopped him!? The cart sat out there the remainder of the day, meanwhile guest are struggling to check in. I hope you can hire the people you need but in any case, order what you need and let YOUR guests check in, in the covered area!!! It was a 120 that day!!

My husband and I came here from Mississippi and love this clean casino. They do the best job in the hard life of covid19. The only casino to actually seem to care about people. They take your temperature at door and make sure you know how to properly wear your mask for the safety of everyone, not under your nose!
I enjoy the Mojave roast inside for specialty coffees. Jumbo muffins are fresh also, but best part is both employees I’ve dealt with (Jayden- July 29 & Catherine on August 17 ) are just wonderful gals, so fun to stop and chat with them.
This last time we had to change rooms since room 1115 did not seem to catch the WiFi at all. Lily at front desk ( another fantastic person ) helped us right away change rooms as we need the WiFi for business. Of course I did tell her I sure I will be paying for her paycheck...we laughed. I went back 2 days later and told her she got a huge raise, it’s nice to cheer them up ( if they need it ) even though we can’t see smiles anymore.
Only bummer part is the thrifty ice cream in this hot summer is only open on weekends.
We’ve never had a problem here that has not been taken care of immediately, wonderful service , thank you.

Would give them 5 stars except for this visit the dining experience was not the best. Went for New Years Eve and they seemed to be under staffed in the Feathers Lounge. Seating of course took forever because of the time, but once seated it took forever for the-food to arrive and when it did some of the food was cool. Wait staff was doing the best they could. Other than the food issue the evening was very fun and exciting. They did a great job of organizing a "NO COVER CHARGE" New Years Eve event. Casino was very clean and the staff very friendly and polite, Would go back again for sure.

I went to celebrate my birthday thinking I was going to have fun like the other occasions I had stayed at this resort, and I did not... I had a miserable birthday. Sorry, but I had to let you know about how I felt. There was strong marijuana smell in my room that I requested to be moved to another room. When I put the claim a staff member told me "we cannot do anything because now it's legal" I told them yes it is but that is the reason I requested a non smoking room to avoid it. The staff shouldn't have be annoyed because of this request. But it seemed they were. The room they moved me to was a mountain view room and the one I requested was a river view one (I've requested a refund, and still waiting for it). My two kids stayed at the South Beach tower and I was moved to the North tower, a long distance walk for me to take care of them. I was thinking on going for spring break but now I have second thoughts! This time is a NO-NO for the AVI...

The reopening of the AVI resort far exceeded my expectations in every way. They temperature scan at entrance and have face masks and hand santizer with sanitizer stations set up throughout. There are distancing measures and plexiglass partitions for the machines and yet you don't feel penned in at all. And there are still alot of and great variety of machines Staff are sanitizing machines and surfaces constantly and everyone is wearing their mask. They Covid tested with results prior to working and are continuing to retest for safety of their guests. They are maintaining occupency rules to a tee. All this change without missing a beat in their service. Staff are freindly, helpful and cheerful. I feel safe and valued as their customer every time I walk in the door. WAY TO DO IT RIGHT and set the bar for others to follow AVI!

The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time and stayed safe as well. Had a great time like always when I stay here. I actually really like that this casino closes for a few hours every day for disinfecting of the casino floor. I've been to at least a dozen other casinos in the last month and this was the only one going this far to keep its patrons safe as possible. It will be my first choice from now on!

I have been going to the AVI for 24 years with my family and I really missed it. We went back in July and I am impressed with their cleanliness and how it is evident that they are making sure we are all safe. I love that you must wear masks and that the slots machines have a plastic division. The rooms are remolded and feel brand new! The front desk/registration staff are amazing and in particular Rosie!

I have been going to Avi Hotel for years. It has always been my favorite on the River. I have overlooked many inconveniences through the Pandemic. But it’s time to stop blaming the pandemic. No bellman to speak of. No available luggage carts. If you want one of the two you have to wait forever. They removed the seating in the lobby due to the Pandemic and never replaced them. If you are waiting to be picked up or waiting for a cart you must stand. I was in a suite with a pull out bed. When calling for linen (which should have already been on the bed) the maid was rude and told me to make the bed myself. Obviously over worked but she could have been nice. When we went to the front desk to get wristbands for the pool the man at the desk absolutely refused to give us any. Said we should have saved the other ones. We weren’t told this but he adamantly refused. We had to go to the manager. The manager was ineffective. Just stood there, gave us the bands without apologizing. The water is still brown and has been for years. Should have been addressed a long time ago. At the least they should have waters in your room and give them free at the restaurant. It is undrinkable. There is no phone reception in the hotel. When with a large group of people this is inconvenient and I believe dangerous. I wrote personally to the Hotel and they didn’t even bother to reply. Something is seriously wrong at this Hotel.

The resort was a great family get away. The pool was the best part of our stay! Thankfully we had good weather the whole time. To break it down:

Pool: Perfect for just about anyone! You get that tropical feeling, it is only 4 feet deep at max, there are two waterfalls, a hot tub, and a kiddie pool. The bathrooms were immaculate! Pool towels available at the pool as well. No lifeguard.

Beach: The beach was beautiful, but since the river was too cold, we didn’t spend much time there. I couldn’t believe how clear the river was.

Casino: It was on the smaller side, which to me is perfect! I’ve been in the big casinos and it never fails that I get turned around and then lost. You could smell the smoke, but you couldn’t see it.

Food Court: Great choices.

Movie Theater: N/A, but the popcorn smelled delicious.

Kids Quest and Arcade: N/A

Buffet: We had the brunch and it was very good. Good prices.

Feathers: Great breakfast food.

Coffee Shop: Good coffee-always busy! They carry Krispy Kreme donuts, but are usually sold out by 830.

Front Desk Staff: Awesome!

Staff I talked to were very polite.

There is a gas station on site, but we didn’t go in.

We will definitely be back!!

Priced right and super friendly frontline staff at check in.
The smoking inside the casino keeps the non smokers out and help maintain expenditures for use elsewhere.
The buffet was ok but not a bell ringer. The salad side of it is missing 10 plus normally found items at most other buffets in same pricing.
Definitely will stay here again but with no gambling due to the smoke.
Oh and I heard no dogs allowed. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
