We arrived quite late in the evening, entering the hotel about 9pm was a little overwhelming with people everywhere. Check in was fairly quick, there is a resort fee which I did not notice when booking with BA but it is stated on the hotel voucher. We were upgraded to the Royal Tower, our room was simple (I am not sure what we would of ended up with should we had not been upgraded) however it did what we needed it to do. It was fairly spacious with two large king sized beds, the bathroom was a good size although needed a little TLC but everything worked. We were on the 14th floor so the lift service was very prompt. We visited the pool a couple of times, as you can imagine there are so many people visiting its 1000 degrees so the sunbeds do go very quickly. Both times we went late afternoon and struggled to find a chair let alone a sunbed. I guess this is to be expected in such a busy place. We used the concierge to help us book our return transport to the airport, he was quite rude and kept interrupting when we were trying to ask questions. The transfer service itself was very good. Overall, our stay was good for 4 nights. I would absolutely go back to Las Vegas but I think I would pay a bit more and stay either at the Paris/Bellagio/Ceasers Palace hotels.

I want to praise Guest Relations. I was planning a different kind of Las Vegas trip...focused on sightseeing with my kids, staying in a castle, pool time, and watching the Tournament of Kings show to bring to life our homeschooling medieval/knights lessons. I know the hotel is older, and reviews were mixed, but their email (GuestRelations@excalibur.com) was all over their responses to other TripAdvisor reviews so I reached out to answer some concerns I had (rumors of pools being closed, etc). They were always more than generous and treated me like VIP. Originally I made my reservation for four nights in the Royal Tower because I wanted to treat myself to a nicer, newer, upgraded room. After some back and forth questions and answers with Guest Relations they advised me to stick with the Resort Tower for the location near the pool so I would not have to walk my family through the casino from the Royal Tower to get to the pool. They said the rooms in the Royal Tower have slight renovations, but it is not a huge difference. They changed my reservation for me to the Resort Tower and refunded me the extra $10/night I had paid for the upgrade. Sadly, in the end I had to cancel my reservation because of some family circumstances but whenever I get the chance to re-do this trip I will definitely look at Excalibur! Thank you for answering all my emails to get this trip just right!

Great place to stay on the strip if you are bringing a family. Conveniently located, decent prices and kid friendly. IF you are a Bee Gees fan, you need to check out THE AUSTRALIAN BEE GEES show. These three Aussies do an excellent job in a tribute show to the Bee Gees. Be sure to check GROUPON before purchasing tickets. Cheers

I had to stump up $198 of resort fees during my stay at The Excalibur hotel. This fee was not transparent when I booked the hotel via BA and it certainly is not transparent on the Excalibur website. I asked the staff at the Excalibur what the fee was for and they informed me it was required to ”enjoy the facilities of the hotel” Mainly, the internet and the fitness centre. This is a complete rip off because those kinds of facilities are often standard in any resort. Hotels have no absolute right to charge these fees. I asked staff for a breakdown of the fees and what I'm actually paying for but that's not forthcoming right now. When I asked for a refund and was denied by numerous staff members I was even told that some resorts even charge more! I should not have to pay this fee for services that I do not use or that are standard in a resort. This is a dishonest and deceptive business practice and I would like a full refund of those fees. I actually felt obliged to use the internet and gym, so I can make use of the ”resort fee” The gym was always packed because it was so small and the internet was slow at times. This hotel was the cheapest for a solo traveller on the strip and now I know why. I didn't like the hotel because it was dark and dingy. I wish I'd paid the extra couple of hundred bucks and stayed at the Luxor. I would have happily paid the ”resort fee” if I was staying there. I spoke to the day time manager Sheila on the 2nd of July 2019 at 10 am. She reiterated that I won't get any money back from them because ”everyone has to pay” although I have been doing research on the internet and this fee is not compulsory. Sheila informed me that BA booked the hotel through Bonotel Executive Travel and they would have been transparent regarding those fees. That's all well and good but I don't believe that BA was transparent with those fees and it is not clear on the Excalibur website either. When I asked Sheila for an email address for Excalibur, so I can write an official complaint my request was denied.
