Enjoyed the visit and the opportunity to spend time with family before the grandkids had to start school. The check in was seamless, parking was a dream, we even got a chance to use the pool and don't forget the numerous slots, that were kind to us, this time.

Really nice place for the price. Friendly people. Beware that you don't have a fridge in your room. That's an extra 30$/day. Too expensive. If you plan to walk the Strip, remember you are at one hand of it. You need good shoes for hard surface. Somethong soft

The room is very clean, comfortable, and very inexpensive. No frills but in Vegas I only need a clean comfy bed. THe location is ideal. You have a tram that can take you to 2 hotels and everything else is walking distance.

The rooms are extremely old and it shows! Outlets do not work or plugs just fall out! The staff were friendly and we had a good time through the casino, I just would not recommend staying in a room at the Excalibur!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Excalibur and on 2 of those occasions the website was down and the ability to check-in was, stand in a long line (90 minutes) to get your keys. When your trying to get to a concert or a sporting event I suggest you leave lots of time to check-in.

I want to be fair to this hotel, so I'll give some context. We stayed here before as a couple, many years ago and found it to be pretty decent. This was the 5th stop on a family trip around the USA and so we offered the teens the choice between staying here and having their own rooms or sharing a room in the Paris. They chose to stay here and have their own rooms. I was well aware of the mixed reviews but this hotel is cheap as chips and of course you get what you pay for. I knew it was gong to be dated and not have as many amenities as other hotels and we were ok with that. The reasons for the low score are as follows: Smell - the casino smells strongly of smoke. Fair enough. But the bedrooms smell of it too. Even though we were on the non- smoking floor(s). They smelt like stale cigarette smoke that had been sprayed with Febreeze. Cleaning - The rooms were clean on a superficial level but not deep clean. They were grotty. Wallpaper in a bathroom and in particular on the wall behind the toilet is not a good idea. Ever. Room allocation - I booked and paid for our rooms in May for travel in August. I specifically asked that they were interconnecting or at least on the same floor, as we were travelling with teens. When we checked in we were told this was not possible. The hotel has over 4,000 rooms so I don't understand why this couldn't be facilitated, it was the main reason I booked so far in advance. I explained that one of our teens had additional needs and couldn't reasonably be located far away from us. I was told that if we downgraded our rooms this would be possible, I agreed but was then told it still wasn't possible after all. Long story short, one parent had to share a room with one teen, three floors apart from the closest family member. Rip Off - Not so much as a bottle of water in the room. The hotel had advertised daily rates for the buffet to include breakfast lunch and dinner. Turns out the buffet closes at 3pm and the daily rates aren't available anyway/. There is a food court in the hotel but shop around, Pizza Hut and Popeye Chicken were the best value. One stall tried to charge us $8 for a bottle of water. There is a souvenir shop which stocks drinks, crisps, bars etc. but there is no price on anything. Staff were friendly, courteous and responsive. It's the only good thing I have to say about this place. In summary, our expectations were quite low but this hotel failed to deliver on them.
