Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Tropicana Las Vegas - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel stands in a prime Strip location, yet it's clear from guest feedback that the hotel falls short of expectations. Its atmosphere and rooms are consistently called out for being outdated and underwhelming, with furnishings and decor that many travelers feel are in dire need of an update. While the rooms are generally found to be clean, lackluster housekeeping services are a common grievance. Amenities fail to impress, often described as inadequate and not reflective of the hotel's value. Guests have also voiced their frustrations with the inattentive service and hidden fees, which seem to overshadow the hotel's affordability.

2.5/5 Definitely run down, can tell they are letting go. Parking super far. Club tower super far. Also why didn’t they open their pool - even if only in day time and between Friday - Sunday during low season. The temperature was already 65-70 F when I was there on Feb 22-25, 2024. Also, the receptionist wasn’t great at describing where the parking was and his directions were confusing. I also didn’t see any bell hops at the north entrance. Room ventilation in bathroom was barely working and you could hear the elevator and noisy guests if staying in the rooms right next to the elevator bank. Sad that it couldn’t maintain their classic hospitality standards.

We wanted to get married and contacted the Wedding Chapel in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. The response from the staff was fast, with accurate information and listed the prices for the differ services they provide. There was not any pressure to upgrade, however they did give information on the various services. We selected the ceremony that suited us best. When we went to the Chapel for the ceremony I was surprised by the friendly demeanor of Allison and Christine. Allison performed a ceremony that was perfect for our needs. The Wedding Chapel at the Tropicana gets a five star review for meeting our needs and assisting us in having a wonderful and memorable wedding. Dale and Sue

Wow… I know this place is being closed down soon, but this does NOT excuse poor customer service and some downright hateful comments. If you are angry about losing your job, perhaps you should look into doing something else? Don’t take it out on the customers please.

We know they’re going to tear this place down, but it wasn’t what it used to be. Not even a facecloth in the room. It seems they’ve already shut the door mentally and just really don’t care anymore. The lady checking us in was just lovely and truly an asset to the Hilton name. We are disappointed as this was where we always tried to stay as parking a semi truck in Las Vegas is not an easy feat. Tropicana always catered to us.

We often stay at Hilton chain hotels. As many upper-level hotels, one gains an expectation of the quality of these places. Unfortunately, this Hilton Doubletree hotel did not live up to the Hilton standards. The rooms lacked a coffee maker, and had poor closet accommodations. All other Hilton-branded hotels in Las Vegas that we have stayed in (6 or 7) were of far better quality.

This is the first, and possibly the last time I've stayed here. I've always wanted to stay here, but it was always booked or the rates were a bit steep. But I see why. I loved it here. Yes, the decor in the room was a bit dated, but it was clean, and the bathroom was very spacious. There was tons of room for parking. Definitely stay here before it gets closed forever.

We stayed for four nights during busy NFR week and it was also part of a Hilton timeshare deal so this was a location we could choose. The room was clean, but tired and in need to work, but with the hotel being scheduled for demo, I don't think that is going to happen. We opted not to have room service because we are fairly tidy - so the only staff we interacted with were on the front desk and they were great. The location is super to access the monorail at the MGM and there were lots of restaurants nearby. If we return to Vegas, we would not choose this location, but glad we did before it is swallowed up by progress. Not sure why there was no coffee maker in the room, but overheard someone say you could request one from the concierge.

The place was was filthy. I informed the front desk and i was told that the best they could do for us was moved us to another room but we had to pay 100 more. We ended up moving to another room but it was not much of a difference. Front desk workers were very rude.

We ended up staying at this hotel after taking advantage of some promotions that initially looked very attractive. I had to spend half a day listening to some presentation trying to sell us a ridiculous, overpriced vacation package. But this was not the worst of it. I only later realized that this is one of the oldest big hotels on the Strip. And the rooms looked like they came from the mid-last century. I wouldn't mind having the hotel room some antique feel, but the smell on our floor and in the room was unbearable. And it is not only the smell - I suspect an underlying reason was that some mold/mildew was growing there. I am very sensitive to mold spores and developed a terrible allergy there. Even my family members without allergies complained of the smell. The whole floor also smelled like a smoking room, which I am not surprised if it was a smoking room for decades (I looked it up - the hotel was built in 1957). Our room was dark, with no ventilation, and felt very depressing - not worth staying in, even if it was free. We eventually escaped from Tropicana to some Holiday Inn nearby - everyone was very excited about it. Even my 7-year-old daughter asked me not to go back to Tropicana.
