Highly enjoyed my stay at the Golden Nugget. Eventhough it is away from the main strip of Vegas, it is close to some good shopping malls and the 'original vegas'. It has a wonderful pool with an aquarium in the middle filled with fish and sharks and a slide that goes straight through it. Will keep the kids busy for hours.

We stayed here in a Spa Suite which was massive! The hotel is right on Fremont Street which was great as it was our first time visiting Downtown. Our Suite was massive with a large lounge area, bar, steam room and spa, I think this room was value for money due to the size. It over looked the pool and overall was a lot bigger than what we expected, I would return to this hotel to stay in a spa suite again in the future.

Somehow I expected more from this hotel as it is a fixture in the old part of Las Vegas. My sister and I thought they would have a coffee machine in the room only to find out you had to go down to the Lobby at Starbucks and wait in the huge line up. Not so great in the mornings, especially when you wake up to face this hassle. We did appreciate that the room was kept clean and that 2 bottles of water were supplied each day. I do agree that the fish tank in the pool was very small for the sharks.

We stayed here for four nights, in a room on the 12th floor of Carson tower. The room itself was perfectly fine - a bit dated, but the shower, toiletries and bathroom were nice. There were fresh towels, bed made each day, and we didn't have any problems with noise from the lobby or outside. We slept well and I enjoyed the room for what it was, though as many others have said, for the price you pay (with extra "resort fee" on top), amenities are basic. No fridge, no coffee/tea facility, basic TV with many channels not seeming to work, housekeeping knocking on your door...it's not a luxury experience. The hotel is located in a good place - easy to step out and explore Fremont street, and it was simple enough to locate the Uber/rideshare pick-up location in order to visit the Strip and, later, return to the airport. There are lots of good bar and restaurant options on and around Fremont street, and we liked the atmosphere. The lobby and downstairs areas of the hotel were always busy and smelled like cigarettes wherever you went. The casino drinks are expensive so we avoided it, and didn't eat or drink in the hotel as there are many more preferable options in the nearby area. Overall, we were happy enough with the hotel room, and had good experiences with all of the staff that we spoke to. Checking in and out was easy, and we were able to store our luggage after checking out so that we could enjoy our final day in the city. Next time we will probably stay somewhere on the Strip that is more modern and provides more for the price and fees piled on top of what we'd already paid in advance.

Casino and restaurants as good as anyone's downtown (enjoyed the Grotto and Chart House immensely), but the room, not so much. Rusted out hold in the bath tub. Complained but go no meaningful response. Room service left dirty towels on the floor and did not replace hand towels. Found a raisin on the carpet when we returned to our room on the third day...the problem? We do not eat raisins and had not food or snacks with raisins in the them. Do not ask for much but cleanliness is a must.
