The Palazzo at The Venetian earns praise for its spacious and clean suites, along with a selection of amenities, though some guests feel certain services fall short. Its elegant atmosphere and decor contribute to a luxurious experience, though elements of datedness have been noted. The hotel's location is generally appreciated for its convenience, but cleanliness and service garner mixed reviews, with exceptional staff offset by occasional housekeeping inconsistencies. Despite the spacious rooms, criticisms of hidden fees cast a shadow over the value of the stay for some travelers.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Palazzo in May 2022. With a child in tow, we were looking to stay at a more quiet, less rowdy hotel while still being on prime location on the strip in a well-appointed property (shopping, dining, etc.). The Palazzo delivered on this and much more. The Palazzo and Venetian are connected both physically and through ownership and management. Per their website, the Venetian is described as "The Bustling Epicenter" and the Palazzo as "Luxury Beyond Measure." This review aims to address a number of recurring issues discussed in other reviews as well as offer up other tips:

1. The View and Noise: There are some of reviews that describe being assigned a room on a low floor, with no view other than of walls or machinery and on a related issue, being subjected to the very loud music from the swimming pool area. Having read this we decided to pay the additional premium for a room with "Strip View", which we felt would more or less guarantee a higher floor although I do use the term "guarantee" rather lightly. We didn’t want to try the “$20 bill trick” because that’s even less of a guarantee. Also, don't count on your IHG or any other hotel/airline/etc membership statuses getting you any upgrades. Too many reviewers on here saying that their "XYZ Elite Status, etc." meant nothing and I believe it. At the end of the day, from the hotel's perspective there's a big difference between paying for something vs. giving something away based on any perceived status you might have. With that said, we ended up on the 41st floor with a room facing the Mirage, Treasure Island, and if you look hard enough, Caesar’s Palace. Our room was room #41-718 to be exact and I've included a photo of the building layout plan that is posted on the room door so you can what our view looked like from that part of the building. With the pool immediately 41 floors below us, we were STILL able to hear the music from the pool, though faintly. In other words, you could hear it if standing at the window but not if you were in the bathroom. So I can’t imagine how loud the music must be on say, floors 1 through 10, or even 20. After seeing the view and hearing the music we were very glad to have spent the extra money on the room upgrade (and as a result, re-prioritizing our other trip expenses). I will add though, that the sound insulation between rooms seems very good. On one occasion when returning to our room, we saw that our neighbor’s room door was open and there was loud music playing. However, once we got into our room and shut our door we couldn’t hear the music.

2. Checking In: I read about long lines and poor service at check in. We managed to avoid this by checking in online. A day or two prior to our check in time/date we were sent text message offering for us to check in online. You click the link in the message to download a hotel key app. You conform your identity by taking a picture of your driver license and also taking a selfie picture. A few hours before your arrival we recieved an email with our room number. Once you get to the hotel you simply use the app to go through security before the room elevators, go to your floor/room and use the app to unlock the door. It was incredibly smooth and easy. From start to finish we did not need to visit the front desk or speak with anyone to check in or check out. I read some reviews pointing out the rudeness or indifference of front desk staff. By checking in online via your phone or computer you completely avoid this. Checking out was just easy. All done on the phone app.

3. Parking Garage: We drove into Vegas and I was concerned about the 7’ height clearance of the garage. We have a Yakima cargo box attached to the top of our 2018 Honda CR-V and we had no problem fitting under the 7’ height clearance, though it did look like it was very tight fit. There were plenty of spaces in the garage though, as you can expect, spots closest to the elevators were usually taken. Because the garage is free and open to the public you can come and go as you please.

4. From Garage to Room: Park closer to the entrance marked “CASINO”. There you will take the elevator to either the Casino level or Canal Shops level. Regradless of which level you get off on, you will then need to switch to the room elevators to get to your room. There is a security check just before the room elevators where you either have your room card key scanned or your phone with app opened. If you check in as we did (described in No. 2 above) your trip from the car to your room will be very short and you will not need to go to the front desk (which would require you make your way across the casino floor with luggage in tow). As you can see, much of your movement will be vertical by way of elevators, rather than across large spaces. If you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with children and have strollers and other gear with you, this trip from the car to your room should be relatively easy IF you do not need to check in at the front desk.

5. The Room: In our case, the room looked every bit as spacious and elegant as the hotel photos. We did not find any major cleanliness or maintenance issues. The controls for the window shades, however, are every bit as difficult and confusing to operate as other reviewers have noted. There is also no other way to manually open them. TV remote control response is very slow too. Just remember, both the Palazzo and Venetian are all suites so the rooms are the same size. Your upgrades would be for certain views. There is a mini refrigerator but everything in it is attached to a sensor so that if you move it you will be charge its cost regardless of whether you actually use it or put it back or not. Same for the snack tray. One thing we noticed was that every day, along with the typical housekeeping carts/staff, we also saw maintenance carts/staff along with them, complete with paints, etc., I’m assuming to repair any damages to rooms. This may explain why the room was in such good condition. The included bathrobes were surprisingly high quality. We also declined housekeeping service all three nights of our stay.

6. Room Service: We ordered room service one of the nights. Good service over the phone with placing the order. They gave me an estimated delivery time of 45 minutes but it ended up being less than half of that. Since some in our party were sleeping, I asked them not to set up the food for us on the table but to just leave the cart in the foyer area and we can tend to it ourselves. Staff were very professional. Food arrived warm/fresh. However, they could speed up the collection of dirty plates/carts. We noticed that many carts/trays left out in the halls often took up to half a day or more to be collected.

7. The Property: One of the reasons we chose the Venetian/Palazzo property is because of the size and aesthetics of its shopping center and common areas. We found the recreation of Venice, Italy to be quite fun (though that may not be everyone’s tastes) and it does offer a creative diversion from the typical malls and casinos of Vegas. We had some of our meals at the Italian restaurants on the square and found them to be very good. However, be advised though that exiting the property out to the streets and turning left down the strip (towards Harrah's, Paris, etc.) you will encounter some very seedy street life, day or night.

In summary, if you plan to be in your room a lot or are a very light sleeper, or require any special accomodations, etc., do 1.) spend the extra for a better room and avoid the bad views and loud music 2.) book directly with Palazzo/Venetian (on phone or via website) 3.) use the keyless/contactless check-in procedure and avoid long trips to and long waits at the front desk 4.) brace yourselves for high prices (it's Vegas afterall) 5.) Study the photos and reviews here and know what you are getting and not getting in advance (i.e. no coffee maker in room, no free water, mini-fridge can't be used to store your own things, daily resort fees, etc.) 6.) Be ready to be flexible because your reservation comes with a ton of fine print, usually to the benefit of the hotel.

I have visited Las Vegas many times and have participated in several loyalty programs through the years. Grazie at the Venetian is the best. They always have room comps, with beautiful rooms that are a suite. no parking fees, easy to use points for resort comps and never a hassle. We do not get the Resort amenities, but can sign up for wifi at a charge far less that the Resort Amenities Fee. The self parking elevator comes right out at the entrance to the room elevators - which we love as older folks lugging our own bags. If you visit Las Vegas several times, you will want to sigh up for the Grazie Loyalty program!

I had such a fabulous visit to this hotel. For reference, I was going to stay at the Flamingo but decided on this property instead.

COVID related: Hotel was exceptionally clean. Each room had a bag with masks, sanitizer, sanitizer wipes, and gloves. They had checkpoints set up to check temperatures without stopping/interfering with moving about the hotel. Staff was very quick to clean any machines, escalator rails, front desk, etc. Face masks are required and you will be reminded of this if you are not following the guidelines. This property is doing it right!

Room: I was in a luxury king suite. Extremely large room facing the mountains which is exactly what I wanted (hello sunrise). Bathroom featured a large bathtub, separate shower, TV, 2 sinks, separate toilet area, and makeup area. Room had the most comfortable king bed and TV! Separate living area had a couch, table with chairs, TV, and in room mini bar (pricey! but expected). You will not be disappointed with this room! The A/C worked amazingly well!

Hotel: Easy to find the elevators and rooms as everything is marked to assist you. You do have to scan your room key to enter the elevators which made me feel safe as I was traveling alone. Great location on the strip with easy access to many different areas of interest. Contactless checkout at the podiums.

STAFF: Literally the best part of my stay. Every staff member I encountered epitomized what hotel staff should be from front desk, housekeeping, and valet. Always willing to assist. Engaged. Friendly.

This may become my hotel of choice in Vegas.

We stayed 2 nights at Encore / Wynn which we got cheap thru Snaptravel but could not afford a third night at a full price so booked Palazzo thru Hotwire. Encore / Wynn are ahead of all other hotels from COVID safety prospective. I was hoping to see same at Palazzo, I was wrong.

While Palazzo has tons of hand sanitizer stations, body heat measuring machines at the main entries, even hand wash stands on the casino floor, they failed with guest rooms elevator access.

Elevators are really old and slow hence create a bottleneck. People are asked to ride in groups of four. Form three lines - one people coming down, two - people coming up for power and upper flours. Those three lines of people are jammed tight thru the tiny space, forget any distancing.

The number of people is well above any safety limits.

Dear Elena_SF779, Thank you for your recent stay and taking the time to share your experience with us. I am disappointed to learn of your unpleasant experience. The health and safety of our Team Members, our guests, and our community is our top priority. Guests and Team Members are required to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from others while standing in queues, using elevators or moving around the resort. Signs are placed in elevator lobbies to remind guests of the suggested limit of four guests per elevator. Primary elevator lobbies are staffed during peak hours to provide assistance and additional sanitization, such as wiping of buttons. Please know I have shared your experience with our leadership teams and we are committed to preventing this from happening in the future. Your continued patronage is very important to us, and we hope you will give us the opportunity to restore your confidence very soon. Kind Regards, Eunice Guest Relations

There is no such thing as hospitality at this hotel. We felt like second class citizens. Check in was a disaster, they never let us know that our room was ready. We sat around waiting for that notification for hours. No apology either. Had booked in advance and made reasonable requests to be in a location close to other couples we were traveling with and for a early check in for $75. Neither request was honored. Had multiple problems with the room keys and we were met with rudeness from the all staff at the front desk. There are too many other options for a nice stay in Las Vegas. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere they will appreciate the business.

Extremely spacious suites, very clean, well decorated with separate living/sleeping areas. Non smoking room was truly smoke free, and the connected canal shops and restaurants were a smoke free experience as well. Free parking in the garage made it easy to leave the car and walk, as Palazzo is centrally located on the strip. Friendly staff at check in. Pool looked great, but cold outside so we didn't use it.

With all the concern about the coronavirus in today's news I thought twice about traveling to such a heavily visited location such as Las Vegas. Having said that and having stayed at The Palazzo before I was very confident that the facility would be doing everything possible to ensure their guests would be as safe and comfortable as possible. Upon arrival we were impressed with the efforts that were being made to keep the hotel and casino ready for all visitors and guests. We plan on returning within the next month- most definitely and will most likely bring family with us. We love this place.

As mentioned, our room was not checked and were missing toiletries. The worst part was when we were getting ready to sleep and our daughter was setting up the pullout bed we found dirt/debris that looks like yellow rice pellet and insects between the sheets. We were grossed out and shocked how moth like looking insect got in...and goes to show it was no inspected or cleaned POST COVID. We immediately called the FD and was given a cold shoulder stating to either move rooms or change the sheets. This was after 12am, and we were exhausted...we are not about to move in our pajama's and drag our belongings. WE opted for new sheets but we were not comfortable having our daughter sleep near the sofa bed. It took 30-45 mins of wait until HK Team changed the sheets and in spanish (thinking we didn't understand, we are of asian decent) that "they were embarrassed and sorry that this room was not up to standard). We so disappointed with choosing to stay in this property, we chose Palazzo as they seemed to have the best COVID protocol as stated in their website, but we were fooled. We had someone call us to follow mid afternoon the next day and offered an insulting 1 day free resort fee. Our experience was ruined and this was a time off that we needed away from being essential workers.

This was my third time staying at Palazzo this stay I left me feeling some kind of way.
The good the hotel is nice clean spacious rooms.
lots of restaurants Pricey.
This visit I just felt it was all about money 45 dollar plus taxes resort fee which totals about 51 dollars per day they say to use the pool and gym etc. your charge this fee even if you do not use these amenities.

The checkin person ask several times did I want to upgrade my room for 50 to hundred dollars a night to be on a higher floor I must of said No Thank you 3 or more times.

My room came with a free contential Breakfasts
for two. To get the Bkfst you had to stand in a line and the server hands you a shopping bag with a box inside that looks like a kids lunchable. The box consisted of a one bite size bagel a boil egg two mini slices of bread peanut butter packet and handful of grapes. Just not what you expect from a luxury hotel with 4 stars.
Don’t order tea via room service it will cost you
14 dollars for a pot of hot water and a packet of tea
also there a delivery fee to order room service.

Just felt like the Palazzo has become all about fees.

Lovely looking hotel with large rooms, but a few issues are evident.

1) upon arrival at around 15.15 was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a room with strip view for $50 per night, I politely declined and was then told my room was not ready. After a 15 hour, multiple flight trip from Scotland, this was the last thing my wife and I wanted to hear. Nothing offered in way of apology

2j Informed of resort fees $51 per night, apparently covers car parking, internet, wi-if, pools and gym. Didn’t need parking, no car, wi-fi available anyway for anyone entering building, most pools shut. No negotiation on resort fees. Booked holiday with British Airways which did mention resort fees but then stated all taxes and fees are included in price

3) room was spacious but smelled. My wife and I have broke out in skin rashes into 2nd day of stay which got worse as stay went on. Linen changed once during 6 night stay on last night when we came to room at 21:00 to pack and housekeeping were in our room.

4) on leaving day we waited for 90 minutes for airport shuttle from 14:45 until 16:15. It didn’t show up despite it supposed to be every 30 minutes. Ended up getting a taxi.

5) was never once asked how my stay was or shown any customer service during my stay. Checked in, occupied room for 6 days, checked out. Even upon checking out I wasn’t asked how my stay was, if I needed a taxi to airport, nothing.

Visit to Vegas was fantastic but someone needs to do something about these “resort fees”. I for one will be voting with my wallet and avoiding hotels that charge them to keep advertised room rates lower.

Nothing special and wasn’t made to feel welcome. Can’t prove skin problems were related to hotel but is a massive coincidence that two healthy adults sharing same bed, at the same time, had problems.

The Venetian and Palazzo are connected and there is a large shopping center with a canal that connects them. Overall, the Palazzo is a bit "classier" and more mature feeling (its also more expensive). We stayed there thinking it would be less rowdy. We had our 3.5 year old with us and it was fine. There isn't much in the way of actual children activities but we still enjoyed our stay there.

I brought my water bottle. They also give you bottled water if you reserve a pool chair. I do not know about coolers. I brought a bag with my sunscreen, hat, phone, water bottle, and book.
