Stayed here ten straight years and will continue to do so so to its location, big clean rooms. Downside risk to a once incredible place? Spa no on get there and the small place to eat off the lobby is always closed. Used to have porters as well to help with luggage
We have stayed at the Platinum Hotel several times over the past few years, but none compared to the horific experience this time. From a total fiasco attempting to check in, being told our room was ready when it wasn't, being told we were being upgraded when we weren't and then being told the room would be ready in an hour which took 2 1/2 hours, things got off to a poor start. The website of Platinum offers fully equiped kitchens, which they are as long as you are good with 3 glasses, 4 plates, 4 cups etc. Any additional items such as a cutting board, etc have to be requested individually. One about the 4th day of our 8 day stay, the only toilet in the suite plugged and backed up, overflowing onto the floor. When I attempted to call the desk, it took three tries to get anyone to answer, although in their defence it was 5:30 am (couldn't expect there to be staff on at that time). After attempting to explain to an inexperience (or couldn't care less clerk) I was told that my tone and language were offensive to him. Perhaps if I didn't have to explain three times was actually flowing across the bathroom floor and heading for the kitchen, it may not have been so offensive. The most frustrating part of the entire experience is when someone did show up about 15 minutes later, I was “handed a plunger” to fix a toilet myself. Fortunately this is something that I am capable of doing, but I must ask, what would have happened of it was someone who couldn’t, such as my wife? With no regular housekeeping, again we were inconvenienced by fending for ourselves in taking care of the situation to the extent of having to wash the towels etc. that we were forced to use to clean up the mess from this. I have reached out to management twice by email and had no reply to date. It is now close to three months since our stay so I am sure that I won't here now. Just hope the the Platinum Hotel & Spa doesn't expect any return business of referals.…
We’ve come to stay at the Platinum 13 years,,in a row! We’ve tried many of the major Strip hotels over the last 30, but when we stayed at Platinum, we’ve booked our Las Vegas summertime week, and never considered any of the others! The location( a 5 minute walk to the Strip, timed) very well maintained pool, the welcoming staff from check in to check out, the full kitchens and laundry in rooms, great views at night of the strip, and quiet Mountain View rooms( we’ve stayed in all their room levels, from Solitaire, to Princess, and Marquise suites), with great wifi service, and large TVs. As we like the non smoking, non gaming policy, it satisfies us every time we return. When we first started coming to Las Vegas, we used to come for gaming and dining choices,,,now, we come for the many eating choices, all very accessible from Platinum. Ellis Island is just next door, has great casual choices, Del Frisco’s is close by with other higher end dining, and I could go on,,but we always recommend Platinum Hotel to all our friends and family, and those who have never stayed in Las Vegas before. We’re sold on it😍😃😃…
They took 2 deposits which I had to file a BBB complaint to get refunded and they cancelled my reservation less than 2 weeks before my trip without a reason. It was finally refunded but you don't cancel someone's room for a busy holiday weekend.
My son's hotel room at the Platinum was burglarized by an employee or someone else with the help of an employee the weekend of his 30th birthday and his first time in Vegas. They told my son and I there was nothing that they could do because of all the doors in the hotel, his was the only room that wasn't closed properly. Mind you, in front of the manager and the seurity personnel, we closed the the door several different ways and the door latched every time. Only by slowly guiding the door to close quietly with a foot, did the door not latch. The room doors are incredibly heavy so that when the door is opened, it closes and latches automatically. A few hours before the theft occurred, one of the employees complimented my son on his shoes and coincidentally, his clothing was taken. Ny son's girlfriend, heard someone in the room later on that evening The manager Brittany, was the most non-helpful manager I've ever seen. The treatment that my son and I received and are continuing to receive is completely unacceptable for a property such as this. I still have not received a call back from the gm, mark Fenton and the LV police seem to be just as incompetent and just as han the hotel employees. We will NEVER use this hotel EVER again.…
Really more like a Condo One bedroom apartment. Staff was very nice, all rooms had terrace. Huge apartment, full kitchen, stainless appliances. Clean and confortable. It is 2 long blocks from the strip, whether that’s good or bad for you. Vegas seems a little seedy everywhere, so don’t know what to say. Free indoor parking lot was a plus. Pool was nice. No real restaurant inside, but the Tuscan next door, which I would try next time for a stay, was beautiful, clean, Marilyn car great breakfast. I think the hotel rates are crazy cheap, but didn’t see the rooms. Nice pool, and small casino, bar. Both places seem great
I stayed here because it was the host hotel for the Revel Canyon Mt. Charleston Marathon that I ran on 4/2/22. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The service was excellent and we received a free bottle of wine upon arrival (that I couldn't drink pre-race). It had a full kitchen with a separate living area. The bed was comfortable enough and it had a soaker tub with a separate shower. The bathroom counters were large enough to hold all of my toiletries. We had a problem with the AC (it was user error) and after calling the front desk, a service man was at our door within 5 minutes. This is a non-gaming, no frills hotel and it's close to the strip and convenience stores within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again over most of the strip hotels. It could use a little updating, but had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.…
Located just a quick two blocks off the strip, the Platinum is a perfect place to for both short and long term stays in Las Vegas. The check in process was painless and with a very friendly front desk staff. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch as well. The room was a one bedroom, with a large living room, full kitchen and a very nice bathroom. The in-suite laundry was a great bonus and well used. The wifi worked great and the workspace provided a great space to get some daily work done. Used the kitchen a few times during my stay, the provided full set of cookware made making meals easy and the dishwasher made for a easy clean up. The balcony offered a amazing strip view as well as a place to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a cocktail after a long day. I did venture to the Tuscany Suites & Casinos as well as the Ellis Island Casino which are located next door for some take out during my stay. There was also a 7-11 and mini market located steps away from the front door. It was nice staying at a non gaming property but still being within a 10 minute walk from the strip. Highly recommend this hotel.…
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! Having a reservation is pointless!!!!! I was coming in from San Diego this Saturday 2/19 to stay until Monday 2/21. I booked on line and even called after i got my confirmation # only because i never got an email confirmation. I spoke to someone at the front desk and they confirmed everything went thru fine. They said i wouldn't get an email till about 30 min or so.... So we get there to check in on Saturday at 6:20pm (check in is after 4:00pm) tired from driving 4 and a half hours only to find out our reservation had been cancelled WHAT!!!!!!!! And to top it off they were completely booked and no rooms available! They said it was due to my card being declined, what a bunch of BS!!!!! I said how about a call or anything???!!!! There reply was we don't call anybody, OMG i thought this was unacceptable and asked to speak with a manager and she was the manager!!! Great, so I knew i was going to get no where! I called my credit card company and they had no history of a decline nor anyone trying to run a charge!! So my wife and kids were in a scramble Saturday night trying to find somewhere to stay!!! Don't let this happen to you. Not even a so called reservation is any good at this place!!!!…
Two blocks from the strip..Near a couple convenience stores and a Starbucks. Although not necessarily "cheap", good value for the price. Huge bathrooms with large tub. Pull out couch has short memory foam mattress so fairly stiff but better than spring pullout. Very quiet during our stay and front desk was helpful.
