Love staying here - employees are great and rooms are big and nice. Front desk people are helpful and friendly. Casino is nice and a very big sports book and racetrack venue. Best of all, a big poker room with a great staff.
My gal pal and I recently stayed at SouthPoint which is an awarded locals property located on the far south end of Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip). We had a brief stay at SP in the past, but this was our longest stay - 4 nights. Are you looking for a low-key casino vibe with a property that has it all? If so, then SouthPoint is definitely it! Upon check-in each registered room guest receives a FunBook which is great for dining deals. In the hotel we have had both the City/Mountain and pool room view, I would suggest the pool view. We were located on the 11th floor, and the elevators were quick and smooth. The hotel rooms are well appointed, extremely clean and well maintained. Also, in the room is a mini refrigerator, safe, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, and a Keurig machine with complimentary k-cups. For breakfast we ate at the Garden Buffet for $5.39 w/tax each with a player's card and the 50% off coupon from the funbook. Online reviews tend to be largely negative, often not stating any positives. Our visit to the Garden Buffet was on point, full spread breakfast options-bacon, sausage, hash, fruit, etc., an omelet station, and bottomless bloody mary's (which were just vodka and tomato juice, but hey, you can't beat the price!). The food options at SP are another on point feature of the property. The 24-hour Coronado Cafe has everything with an exceptional Chinese food menu and a Late Nite Specials menu from Midnight to 6 a.m. Craving Mexican food? Baja Miguels has it going on, however, it's only open Wednesday-Sunday. While at Baja Miguels, be sure to check out the Lunch Specials menu from 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., my friend and I each had an entree and margarita on the rocks for $10.78 w/tax each. We were craving crab legs and sadly due to the high market price of crab legs the Big Sur Oyster Bar was not serving the advertised crab leg special. A sign indicating such would have been appreciated at the host stand, but we had a lovely dinner nonetheless. We often parked ourselves at the many bars and played lots of bar top Keno. SP has numerous bars, with plenty of seating. And the cocktail service was on point! Our favorite was the 24/7 hour bar-Catalina Island Bar, and the 400 Bar which opens at 4 p.m. The casino vibe is that mostly of the 30+ age demographic and are respectful and courteous to all. Some hoots and hollers were heard on the casino floor which always add to the Vegas casino experience. There were a large number of Keno and Video Poker machines and the slots range from the old school 5-liners, to several of the hot new slots including Rakin' Bacon, Miss Kitty Wild Ride, Wonka Dreamers of Dreams, and Madonna. Also, the comps are easily accessible for those willing to reach out to a Casino Host at SP. During our visit in late November/early December there were sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70's, so we soaked in the resort's hot tub, which is spacious and private. It was nice to walk down to the pool area in my complimentary slippers provided in each room. The pool area was open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and we largely had the area to ourselves during the off season. Other great features at SP are the Bingo Hall, Bowling Alley, and kids Arcade located upstairs. Need to stretch your legs? Be sure to go outside of SP and walk the perimeter of the property. Given its location in a desired residential area you can feel safe and not be hassled by street beggars or tourist sales pitches. Also, there is a gas station just across the street as well as a McDonald's and Denny's if that strikes your fancy. SouthPoint definitely caters to a more mature clientele, however the resort, customer service, and locals casino odds are worth making the trip in my opinion. I love SP, and found my new favorite casino and look forward to returning again in February and discovering more of the property.…
We did not stay overnight there but visited two different times very nice friendly clean place next time we are in Vegas we will definitely will stay at southpoint.did the breakfast buffet and lunch buffet you couldn't ask for anything better
It was my first time here. The room was VERY spacious. LOVED it. Comfortable bed. Staff and dealers in casino very good and very friendly, especially pit boss, Lizette and dealer, Vanna. Movie theatre, bowling alley, swimming pool spa, good convention center, great gym. Good shows. Casino is way south of the rest of the strip but we never needed to leave. 12 wonderful restaurants. My only criticism is that the coffee shop was always freezing cold. Did they want us to get back to the casino quickly or what? Service in room excellent. Any issues were fixed right away.
I almost go to south point casino on a regular basis. it’s normally a movie and eat at the restaurants and have a beer and gamble. the crowds are normally pretty laid back and I don’t see anyone being hostile or anything like that. I have always enjoyed my visits over to the south point casino. I bowl on Tuesday nights and it gets pretty busy. south point casino gets pretty beat up by some of the reviews I read and I always say there’s 2 sides of the story. this is my go to place for the events at the arena, performances at the showroom, movies on Friday nights and bowling of course. another shout out to the waitresses who always do an excellent job. this place deserves a lot more credit than people give it. thanks for making my experiences worth awhile.
I am formally filing a complaint in regards to an incident that took place at your roulette tables on Wednesday night 6/15/2022. When asked if I could participate in a bet on a roulette table, I was told “no” by the dealer and patrons without any explanation as to why and patrons on the table rudely added snark remarks directed towards me in a discriminatory way. The pit boss and patrons condoned these actions and I felt I was targeted due to my race and age. I will also be filing this complaint with the better business bureau. Very discriminatory and “old boys” vibe. Visitors stay away!!!
It started off arriving at the airport. I scheduled the hotel shuttle 8:30 am and the shuttle wasn't there. I called and they told me they didn't have a reservation and I had to wait for the 9:45 am shuttle. After getting an Uber and arriving at the hotel, the front desk staff were rude to me when I asked to check in early. During my stay I enjoyed the fitness room and pool. Both were very nice. The restaurants were very nice once you got in. The wait for every location was very long most times of the day. My scheduled changed and I had to leave a day early and I wasn't able to book the shuttle the same day Not sure why that would make a difference. Needless to say I will be choosing other locations next time I visit Vegas in Sept.
We have visited South Point several times as locals and have had may a fun stay-cation there. This last visit was also mostly very good. We really appreciate that there is so much to do at the South Point - massive casino, eleven restaurants on site, movies, bowling, a really nice spa, and we enjoy the pool area, too. Michael Gaughn, the owner deserves a lot of credit for the South Point being the first Las Vegas casino to be fully functional after all the Covid pandemic restrictions. We ate our first Vegas buffet in over three years during this visit, and it was a good solid B grade. The one beef we had with the property was that both the sink and tub in our hotel room were partially clogged, even after two separate maintenance visits. It's obvious the plumbing in the hotel needs some serious work. Overall, we still had an enjoyable visit, and particularly liked our time spent at the pool - very relaxing!…
Everything was awesome from the room to the food!!! Went there to see the Righteous Bros Show which was amazing to see. Last time we seen them was in 1995 at the MGM Grand. The food was amazing as well. The shopping and casino was great. Would stay here every time we are in Vegas.
Stayed off strip to be closer to family and I don’t think we’ll ever stay on strip again. The rooms are spacious and clean, the hotel has a ton of things to do for adults and kids, and we don’t need to leave the property for anything. We had the bowling alley, arcade and equestrian center for the kids, and adults of course get everything else lol. Also loved that it doesn’t cost anything to park or valet (but of course tip). The pool is also very family friendly and if you don’t want to be around kids, the hot tub area is 16+ only.
