Las Vegas local here. Just got back from staycation at South Point. Was able to get an AARP discount! We got a suite - special occasion! They've recently done some renovations to the rooms - not sure if it's all of them, but our suite was really nice. No carpet in the room - less germs! AC worked extremely well. Ate at Steak 'n Shake (always good!), Coronado Cafe - twice (big portions, great food, highly recommend the Chinese chicken salad!), Big Sur Oyster Bar (oysters on the half shell and New England clam chowder were awesome - wasn't too crazy about their gumbo), and Baja Miguel's (great food and, again, large portions!). Didn't win in the casino but had a great time. Cocktail service on the casino floor is great - of course, we tip generously. Every employee we spoke with was nice, friendly, and courteous except the bell desk folks - unlike other properties we've stayed at, the bell desk folks didn't seem to want to interact at all. Valet is complimentary and well worth the tips. Hoping we earned some follow-up comps - would love to stay here again. Our usual go-to is Sahara - love Sahara! Now we have TWO go-to's!!

Nice rooms - friendly service - very convenient for horse comps. Be careful charging to your room - to easy to over charge you upon check out. Had an experience w extending our stay and getting over charged. Disappointing because we really enjoy the arenas and competing here…

Be aware of a “resort fee” which is ridiculous. You aren’t told about it until you check in. I won’t be returning to this establishment. It includes things that you would normally receive with the room, coffee, weight room, etc.

This our first trip in over a year to las vegas and our first time staying at south point hotel! Upon arrival at south point, I parked in the valet parking and waiting a few minutes for a valet to come. No one in sight, so after, a valet passes by and I tell him we are checking in and he's response is " that's nice"! The nerve of him and he could at least say do you need help, as I was going to say can you help us with parking, but he just continued on his Merry way! First day at south point, no brownie points for you!!! Terrible service!

This is a nice appearing place, but going inside you are overwhelmed with the stink of cigarette smoke, Humorously, the announcement says “Masks are mandatory and must be properly worn at all times.” All you see are unmasked smokers. The stink is omnipresent and nowhere on the casino floor can you escape it. When you sit at a slot machine, sure enough a smoker will sit right next to you and start hacking unmasked. We will never go to this joint ever again
