Hotel's Favorite
After finding a very good hotel deal for this place offered by my airline and with it having free shuttle access to/from Harry Reid Airport, I thought I would give this little resort a try for my one night stay in Vegas. Located approximately a mile east of the Las Vegas Strip, Silver Sevens has long been frequented by locals with a rich local history and two prior names: the "Hotel Continental & Casino" and more recently, the locally popular label "Terrible's Hotel & Casino" (not to be confused with the now-closed hotel in Jean). Silver Sevens was certainly not terrible (pun intended) and provided a welcoming and competitive hospitality alternative to the nearby no-frills budget motels in the area.
Booking and Reservation...I booked third-party via my airline thanks to a 500 point rewards bonus and a $27.54 base room rate offer with free cancelation. After adding up all the taxes and the $39/night resort fee, the deal was still decent...$74.86 total for the night at a resort hotel. The airline rewards bonus was also worth approximately 10% of the total bill in value that I can use toward future flights...Nice! To compare, the budget motels in the area were pricing at about $78 for the same night after taxes, that meant the reservation went to the Silver Sevens. The resort also holds a $100 incidentals deposit, payable at check-in together with the resort fee.
Arrival...Silver Sevens offered free shuttle service in between the airport and the property. With a posted bus schedule of 14 daily roundtrips starting at 5am through the 9pm hour, the shuttle departs hourly most of the day with the longest interval in between buses being two hours. Las Vegas' RTC public bus Route 108 also links the airport and passes near the hotel every 30 minutes as an alternative with connections to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Downtown Vegas to the north; however using the northbound Route 108 option from the airport would have involved a moderate walk in between the bus stop and the hotel. Fortunately, my inbound afternoon flight timed with a hotel shuttle departure and thus I was able to take advantage of the free service. The bus pulled up on time as scheduled at the hotel shuttle bus stop area of the airport. Silver Sevens logos decorated the mini-bus, making it easy to identify as it pulled up. The driver was very friendly and offered me and the other passengers a free water bottle. The driver also gave me directions of how to get to the front desk upon entering the building.
Location and Connections to other Las Vegas Destinations...The resort itself is located at the southeast corner of Paradise Road and East Flamingo Road, approximately 1 mile east the Strip. The area is home to many popular non-Strip restaurants within walking distance...those looking to dine in Vegas without paying a premium for food will like this. RTC public bus Route 202 also serves the Flamingo Road corridor 24/7 with departures every 15 minutes at most times with the bus stops just footsteps away from the hotel's front door; an ideal means to getting to/from the Strip without a 20 minute one-way walk.
The Lobby...Silver Sevens is a prime example of a classic Vegas Hotel and Casino. Upon walking through the front doors, one passes through the casino floor and the organized assembly of Vegas's one armed bandits waiting to greet you. I did not gamble. Thankfully, the walk from the front door to the front desk was only approximately 100 feet. It was also evident upon walking in that smoking is permitted throughout the property.
Check-in...Went smoothly. Friendly staff. They located my reservation and checked my ID. As mentioned, they took $139 at check in...incidentals deposit was $100, resort fee $39. Base rate plus taxes were already paid in full. Staff showed me were to go to access my room. I booked a standard Deluxe King Room and used a standard Keycard that was issued to me at check in.
The Interior Hallways...The hotel room corridors were off limits to the general public thanks to automatic glass doors from the casino floor that open only to guests when swiping the keycard into the reader. It appeared the hallways were recently renovated but the housekeeping of the corridors' baseboards and floors appeared a bit lackluster with some visible dust and debris buildup. The hotel's elevator also appeared to be recently modernized but like the hallways, its routine maintenance upkeep can use some better attention. Also being an older hotel, it's worth noting that the elevator is a bit small to handle large luggage loads or crowds; thus be ready for this.
The Room...Spotless and was recently renovated with contemporary décor and a walk-in shower in place of a bath tub. The room as-is for the most part was no-frills with no refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot or continental breakfast. This didn't bother me considering that I actually paid less to stay here than I would have at a no-frills budget location. The Wi-Fi was easy to log into by confirming the room number with the guest's last name, bed was comfortable, the bathroom did its job, and the air conditioner functioned nicely.
The Resort...Silver Seven's pool is open 'til 9pm each night and located in a private 'atrium' like setting with a walking path surrounding its parameter. When I got back to the hotel from my event to go to bed, it was already after 9pm and since I had to be back at the airport very early the next morning, I did not have a chance to experience the pool or most of the hotel's amenities. I did however have a chance to take a night walk around the parameter of the pool area. Since the hotel buildings surround this section, the environment was absolutely tranquil and quiet. And being away from the Strip, there was no loud music or any other noise pollution in the area.
Overall...This resort has a long history and I think the hotel deal that I got combined with the resort conveniences of having a direct link to/from the airport outweighs its housekeeping issues that I saw in the interior halls. From the days of when this location was known as the Hotel Continental to the Terrible Herbst days, Silver Sevens has a bunch to offer as an off-Strip location and hopefully I should have the opportunity next time around to be able to enjoy them more fully in a future stay. This hotel will likely not win any "Vegas Resort of the Year" awards anytime soon but I had a decent and pleasant experience overall--likely much better than I would have at a budget motel. Thus, the Silver Sevens gets a 'Silver' rating from me.

We stayed 12 nights from 28/6/22
Entering the premises you needed to show ID. We were told this stopped unwanted guests
The hotel had had a revamp since our last visit. The choice of carpet was poor, it looked liked someone had tipped sawdust on the floor.
The corridors didn’t get a tidy whilst we were there, old fries remained on the third floor by the fire escape the whole visit
The pool area was clean and quiet during the day . The ladies toilet located at the pool was filthy for two days
The rooms were adequate although the bathroom was really small
Our room failed to be cleaned so I rang the front desk. They said if you wanted the room cleaned you had to ring and request this before 12 noon. We did on 4 occasions, mainly for fresh towels and only one time did they attend
The casino was quiet and there were only two waitresses on . Wilmur being one and a fabulous hostess
The restaurant was on restricted hours which meant we didn’t actually eat there
The hotel is 20 minutes walk to the strip.
We were on the third floor which was really quiet and I’d opt for this again
I would visit again , but keep in mind you get what you pay for

Drove back from the Grand Canyon and arrived at Las Vegas Airport about 8:30pm. Booked the one night through Hotels.ca (prepaid, just have to pay the resort fee on arrival). Took the shuttle (a limo!) to the resort on the last shuttle ride of the night - 920pm. During the ride the driver got a call from the hotel on the radio that there were still people waiting so the driver had to go back for them after dropping us off. Maybe the other people weren't looking for a red limo, lol.
Checkin was easy, I was asked to put down a $100 authorization and also for the resort fees ($32) given room was prepaid. Hotel a little dodgy, especially compared to the Venetian we stayed at earlier in the week. But it would be unfair to compare the two. For a quick overnight the hotel was fine. Went and did about an hour of gambling and ordered a pizza (pizza should be cooked a little longer though). Wait staff in restaurant were very nice and accommodating. Checked out the next day without issue and took shuttle back to airport.
Stay was acceptable and met our expectations.
Only issue is that well over a week later I have a charge (not authorization, but a charge) from the hotel for the whole night. I already prepaid this to hotels.ca. Emailed the hotel and still days later waiting for a reply. I have escalated with Hotels.ca. I hope this was an oversight and not intentional and trust they will resolve the issue quickly.

The places Id normally stay was all booked because of some convention so it is the only reason why I stayed here. my stay was specifically only to sleep as I had a flight the next day. I don’t give a sh** about gambling, drinking, or nightlife. Vegas is just the closest international airport to where I’m living. The hotel section is dark and dingy feeling. Sure it looks like maybe they ‘ renovated’ or updated a couple things a little in the room, (big flat screen TV, bathroom sink looks updated with stone counter top located outside the room with the toilet and tub), but overall it is not completely renovated ( at least the double bed room I was in on the second floor. ) Yes the beds were generally clean with what felt like crisp white sheets so I appreciated that, but the bathroom was disgusting. Multiple Hairs specifically pubes on the floor and tub. Housekeeping obviously doesn’t even try cleaning the bathrooms it seems. Black mold all in the tile crevices and the shower handle, drain features all rusted out. I’ve stayed in a hostel in Vegas that has drastically cleaner bathrooms than here. I would have given three stars, but then at 3am the fire alarm went off (not just my room, I had nothing on not even the heater). It turned off eventually then 15-30 min later while I went back to sleep the alarm went back on and stayed on longer. I was scrambling to put clothes on thinking maybe this was the real deal, but eventually it went off. Well, there goes my sleep, the only reason why I came here and paid the stupid resort fee even though I don’t gamble or do any of that. For the cost here, which is the relatively the same in much better and cleaner places after you factor the resort fee, not worth it. NEVER again.

Light by door is sensor motion and it goes off even when you are just going to the restroom. And it would go on and off if you watch TV. Bathroom door is ridiculously close to the toilet, you kind of have to step in the shower to close the door. Beds are too small for anyone over 5ft 8. Pillows on the bed are a joke, you get two pillows and there's barely any stuffing in them. The walls are very thin so we can hear the conversation in the other room. And the air conditioner does not go below 74 degrees even though the thermostat on says it's 60 degrees. Towels for the shower are small so a person my size which is average won't get covered and in a two bedroom room you do not get enough towels. No coffee pot, no refrigerator. During the weekdays after 2 p.m. you have to leave the hotel to go get food. Front desk didn't seem to even care when I cancelled my next reservation with them. It was suppose to be a free stay but I was still charged $64 for resort fee yet other hotels don't charge that when it's a free room.

Booked this room after a long flight I was so tired, I don't understand why every room across the country has a coffee pot in the room except this one. I called the front desk to get 2 additional pillows the bed only had 2 pillows and they were as hard as a rock. The front desk assured me they would be up with them after a half hour no one came so I called again, They again said someone was coming. no one came. Mind you it was now after midnight and I was exhausted from my flight. I then got dressed and went all the way down to the front desk. The clerk just kept making excuses and I asked for a manager. She went into the back room and I could hear her taking to the manager, Why couldnt the person hiding in the back go get me a pillow for heavens sake, They basically just told me to bad cant help you sorry. How hard is it to walk to the housekeeping area and get me a pillow .Well I guess if you pay 100 bucks for a room you should at least get the courtesy of no run around half the night, The other problem is they charge you a resort fee. Which
I complained about and they did refund. Well the place is not a resort a resort is a nice place with good customer service and amenities this place had none. And you can't even get a decent pillow. Also the halls smelled so bad it was difficult to walk down them. I had to hold my breath. The carpet was absolutely filthy dirty. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We don't gamble so the room was all we booked this hotel for we will look someplace else next time.

I have stayed in a majority of the hotels in Las Vegas over the past 50 years. A marked rise over the previous owners The Continental (horrible) and Terribles (mediocre); the Silver Sevens have upgraded and remodeled their rooms. My room, 212, was a good size and very clean. The mattress was very comfortable. The bathroom, a tad small by today’s standards was perfectly fine. The linens were plentiful and soft.
The desk chair and standing chair were in need of replacement. The room’s Internet is my biggest complaint. The $32 resort fee is high enough that you should expect decent Internet speed. I had to wait and wait for pages to load. The only other suggestion would be I’d like to see a small refrigerator in the room (now standard in most hotels of this caliber.
These are minor complaints should not take away from your decision to stay here. I overall enjoyed my stay here and would stay again. Parking is free—a plus these days in Las Vegas.
The hotel is within a hefty walking distance of the Strip and the price of the rooms beat anything on the Strip and even downtown.
The casino could use some new carpet but is well ventilated with plenty of space between the banks of machines. They have many of the newer games and plenty of the classics. The video poker schedules are abysmal but that seems to the trend.
The casino clientele are mostly local workers types as the drink prices are very reasonable and puts the Strip to shame. The casino is safe and drink service is very good.
Overall—-I’m quite happy with my stay here and is an economical way to go for any Las Vegas stay
PS — Bosses: PLEASE upgrade your Internet.

Where do I start. The first step in this building if horrible. It smells like an ask tray filled with week old cigarettes. I got in late, and everything was closed so I really needed cold water. Went to the “vending machines”. OUT OF WATER!! Then had to ask how to get to my room because nothing is marked. Once through the door wait for “the” elevator finally hear two second floor. Elevator and hallways smell put red like they have over sprayed the stink. Not clean anything except my room.
Really intentionally bad (by design) wi fi. Had to call the front desk because the phone didn’t work to even make local calls. Internet kept turning off prompting me to put in my name and room number numerous times. (All part of their greed based plan to pay for their WiFi upgrade. Last day their internet was down for hours.
If your a chain smoker this place is for you. When I went to leave I asked them to call me a cab. During the next hour and 10 minutes I asked them 4 times to get me a cab and none came. So I walked up to a stranger and offered to pay them if she could take me to a awesome motel, instant internet, bigger room and no ashtrays
Avoid this place

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for your experience as this is a smoking friendly casino and states so on our description. We hold security at a top priority which is why we offer two room-key locked entrances to our hallways with signs above the doors stating which rooms can be accessed that way. Wifi is a complimentary service here and no option for upgrades as we don't feel people should have to pay to access the internet. We also offer a complimentary computer by registration for certain uses. We are glad you were able to find assistance since you weren't able to use your cellphone for a rideshare app pick up and the taxi service we called had a longer than usual wait.

After checking in you will walk down dark, smelly hallway on carpet that is extremely stained. It looks like it hasn’t ever been cleaned. Hallway walls and elevator are stained as well.
Once in to your room it’s descent, I’ve stayed at worse hotels. But again the walls are stained and don’t look like they’ve been painted in years.
If housekeeping cleans they don’t do a very good job. Dirt and dust everywhere. In the bathroom it didn’t get better. Found a pubic hair on the edge on the shower curb. The inside of the shower was dirty as well. Shower hook was held on the back of the door with tape
Pillow covers were stained. I was afraid to look for bed bugs.
If you want a cup of coffee in the morning. You’ll need to get that at the restaurant on the 2nd floor. Nothing in the room

I've stayed at Silver Sevens many times, both as a tourist and then a local. It's conveniently located, rooms are clean and modern, and access to and from the hotel is very easy. Plenty of indoor and outdoor parking, you don't have to walk endlessly to get to the check-in desk or rooms, and everyone is always friendly. Not thrilled about the pricey resort fee or the fact that they've eliminated free coffee in the shop (you now have to purchase breakfast to get coffee). Those are the only two gripes. I'll continue to stay here as long as they maintain this property and keep prices low. Thanks! (now bring back free coffee)

They have an arrangement for that. I believe there is a fee. I've taken the shuttle many times with Customers who used the Silver Sevens as a parking area. As above, call the main # and ask for the Front Desk.
The pool and jacuzzi are open year round, but are not heated.

North Carolina Mountains, North Carolina1 contribution1 helpful votehello im looking for a reasonably priced hotel off the strip normally I stay at the orleans but im willing to try another hotel and stumbled across the silver sevens. im not into smelling smoke in my room so are the towers connected to the casino or are they away from the casino im interested in the patio suites and do the patio suites come in king suites or are they 2 queen beds thanks
This would be my last choice. I would recommend Ellis Island, palace station or gold coast. Hope this helps.
I stayed there in April and didn't have any issues with bed bugs.
No, there aren't safes in the bedrooms.... You can however have access to a free Safe Deposit Box at the Cash Desk in the Casino... It's manned 24/7, so access to your items is always easy... The staff are always plesant, and helpful... To be honest, I think a staffed safe deposit facility is more secure than a room safe... Hope this helps...
