Love the hotel, love the location, staff very willing to help in anyway. The only small issue is the self parking garage. Because it's connected to Planet Hollywood and the Miracle Mile Mall most times you can expect to drive around 15 to 20 minutes trying to find a parking spot.

Hotel's Favorite
I traveled to Las Vegas for the first time over Memorial Day Weekend and stayed at the Elara. We were absolutely blown away by the hotel!! It's very well kept, staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect... So close to everything! We walked all around the strip from here. The pool area is really nice. Our suite had floor to ceiling windows with an incredible view of the Eiffel tower and that end of the strip, a projection TV, multiple other TV's, full kitchen, jacuzzi in room and washer/ dryer! Every time we got back to the room I was just in awe of the amazing space we were staying in. We also loved that the hotel is attached to the Planet Hollywood mall and there are tons of great dining options within a very short walk. If you are looking for an inexpensive lunch, definitely check out Ocean's One in the mall- everything is $5 and it was my Mom's favorite meal of the weekend. We will be back!

Check in was a strange experience. The front desk person said she would have to ask someone for help to find our reservation, she then made a phone call, but gave no explanation. 15 minutes later, after typing literally thousands of key strokes into her computer she finally checked us in. We were then escorted to the "experiences desk" for our "free gift" which turned out to be an unwanted attempt to sell us timeshare. After a few minutes we politely but firmly declined the sales pitch, and went to find our room. The room (a Junior suite) was very nice and spacious. But we had a few problems - first problem was that the blinds in the bedroom had a completely random idea of whether they should be up or down, so opening and closing them turned into a real challenge each day. Others on TripAdvisor have complained of that issue also.... But the main problem was that BOTH nights of our two-night stay we were woken up in the early hours of the morning by a faulty smoke detector. The first night it was beeping and saying repeatedly "error check troubleshooting guide" and the maintenance guy told us "we're having a lot of problems with these". The second night we had to leave the room because the alarm was beeping extremely loudly and repeatedly saying "Fire". There was no sense of apology from the hotel about this inconvenience to us. On checkout, no-one asked if we had enjoyed our stay, so no opportunity to mention the annoying smoke detector. So in summary: nice room, but customer service needs some work. Maybe less effort trying to sell timeshare, and some more time practising basic courtesies?

The Elara is a great resort in an awesome location with FREE self-parking which is rare in Las Vegas these days. The rooms have all of the wonderful ammenities that a 1st class resort has plus a wonderful staff. The location next to the Miracle Mile Mall made it convenient for great in expensive meals and shopping. The timeshare presentation was a little pushie at the end- but eventually No-Meant-No just like on any other date. Worthy visit and awesome stay.

Overall the hotel is very nice, but we got off on the wrong foot upon arrival.... We had arrived early and decided to inquire about early check in at approx 11am. The front desk person told us that she could assign us a room immediately but if we wanted to wait a bit she could assign us a "better" room. My wife told her that we were there to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday (two days prior to arrival), and she said she would take care of us. As of 3pm we still had not heard from anyone so my wife went to the front desk to make sure we hadn't missed a notification. The same front desk person told her that it would still be a bit longer, but she promised us a corner suite room that "would be worth the wait". We received our notification at 430pm that the room was ready, and went to our 19th floor room. Upon our arrival we found that there was nothing remarkable about the room we waited several hours for. Our reservation was for a 3BR corner suite, and being put on floor 19 floor of a 56 floor hotel after a 5.5 hour wait was extremely disappointing. If we knew that we were going to be put in a room with no "extra benefits" for the long wait time then we would have taken a room at 11am rather than waiting. Once in our room, we found that the master bedroom was extremely warm (thermostat was set to 72, but the room was 82 degrees). We called the front desk and within 15 minutes a serviceman was there. He diagnosed a bad part in the unit and it was resolved within 30 minutes. There was also an issue with the motorized shades in the master bedroom where they were not going up/down as they should. A serviceman investigated that and believed it was a button that was hung up and no repairs were made. The curtains continued giving us problems throughout the week, but we didn't want to wait again for another service call. The sofa appeared to be old and was very uncomfortable on one end (there was no give to it, like the seat cushioning was worn out and a board was put in it to allow it to continue being used). The other end of the sofa had no issue. We also called housekeeping for additional toiletries mid-week. After waiting for an hour nobody had shown up. At that point we left the room for the evening, then went to the front desk after getting back to the hotel to request our toiletries. On the positive side the hotel pool/poolside bar was remarkably clean and aesthetically pleasing, the hotel lobby is spacious and modern, and the elevators were plentiful and speedy. The location makes it seems as though you're on the strip, and it's just a short walk through the Miracle Mile Shops to get to Las Vegas Blvd. Self parking in the Miracle Mile Shops parking lot was not as difficult many other reviews made it seem. I think I would consider staying at the hotel again, but sadly our first day experience is what comes to mind when I look back at our week there.
