My hubby and I stay here often when we want to party downtown for a long weekend. We like the funky remodel, the beds are super comfy and the rooms are way quieter than the casino tower rooms. Large showers and mini fridges are a big bonus too. We highly recommend and I actually just got done booking our next... More

This was my first time staying off strip so I wasn't sure how I would like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Cabana Suites are in a building of the own. The design popped. the lobby and rooms are very chic. Clean with great service. Walking distance from Fremont St. Loved every minute of my stay. I would recommend... More

We were looking for a cost effective place to stay downtown and El Cortez is what we found! It has allot of history and is shows in the building (but I'm glad they didn't change it to "modernize" and keep it original) The staff has been polite and helpful, our room is nice and pretty big. There's a restaurant inside... More

We stayed at the El Cortez last week and it was great!! I booked a vintage room because I wanted the "old Vegas" overall experience. We arrived about 9:00Pm and check in was a breeze. The room was just as I expected after reading so many reviews (both good and bad) It was small, clean, and quiet. Exactly what we... More

Wife and I stayed here for a week Sept 2016. Had an above average sized room with couch and comfy chair. Queen bed was super comfy and clean. If you're considering staying downtown while in vegas, we would suggest considering the Cortez due to its excellent location to Freemont and other downtown amenities but if you need a modern room... My wife and I stayed here while I was working on a project in Las Vegas. If you travel to Vegas often (or have a wife from there like I do) you probably do not want to stay on the strip; you want something a but more authentic. This location lets you get to a lot of local favorites quickly... More

I spent a week in Vegas. Half of the trip was on the Strip for a conference and the rest was at the El Cortez Cabana Suites for fun. For the price of 1 night on the strip, I had 3 nights in a suite @ El Cortez. The room was quite nice. The property was old by Vegas standards... More

This was my 17th trip to LV but my girlfriends first. Although I wanted her to see downtown, I wanted her to experience an entire day there so I decided to book a Saturday night (July 30) at the El Cortez Cabana Suites. They were literally $20 more then their basic low level hotel room at the El Cortez. It... More

The REST of the El Cortez was built in 1941 and 1980. This building opened as a separate hotel in 2008, and was later taken over by the El Cortez. The 63 Cabana Suites (they're actually 400 or 200 sq. ft. rooms) absolutely sparkle! Just look at the pictures, and that's what you'll get. Rooms also have fridges (rare for... More

Decided to book a relatively last minute trip to Vegas. Got a decent rate at the El Cortez Cabana Suites. Everywhere else was crazy expensive. I've wandered through the casino on several occasions and thought it to be a little dingy. However, being in the beggars can't be choosers category, I thought I'd give it a go. I love downtown...
