We had a beautiful two bedroom suite for two nights here, the room was very clean and well kept,
however when we walked in we smelled smoke, we called the front desk to change rooms but were told all of the two bedroom suites were...More
The Good: This hotel is conveniently located in Summerlin so it is close to the main youth soccer fields. We found the rooms to be very large and they included a table and 4 chairs so it was ideal for playing games in the down...More
We have just returned from our annual stay at the Suncoast Hotel. The one bedrooom suite is an amazing value for the price. Sweeping views of Downtown and absolute quiet. The staff are very accomodating, the room, spotlessly clean. An nice reprieve from the Strip. Dinner...More
Stayed here Valentines day weekend. and didn't have any issues with the hotel itself. Nice large rooms and what we expected as far as comfort, location, and service. Where it all went downhill was when we decided to book at their second floor spa. Based...More
I travel to Las Vegas for business several times a year. The Suncoast is close to my office. The casino is small but nice. The particular uniqueness is that it offers more than gambling. Within the hotel is a cinema, bowling alley, outdoor pool and...More

There is a taxi rank by the main enterance. If a taxi is not there then the belldesk can call one. Red Rock has more taxis waiting. It was about $20 with tip - which seemed a lot. I had looked on the map and the taxi driver had taken a direct route. There is a Las Vegas taxi farefinder that said that was right. There is Uber.
The WAX bus from the Suncoast goes to Charlston Blvd, then crossing the intersection the 208 goes to Red Rock Casino ($3 for 2h ticket). Hot and Slow so not really an option.
So you are looking at an extra $40 a day for taxi if you cannot get into the Red Rock or if it is that more expensive. I like the Suncoast (I am staying again in Oct) and stay often but certainly the Red Rock is the Bellagio of the off-strip hotels.

I think it would be very suitable for children. It is quiet and away from the strip. There are a bowling alley and video game room, restaurants with good food, a multi-screen movie theater, pool, shopping and other restaurants nearby. It is also very convenient to Red Rock Canyon, a beautiful place to drive or hike.
