Focusing on the positive we enjoyed and highly recommend the Westin Las Vegas Hotel. Located a short distance from the strip (measured a short .3 miles on my fit bit) we enjoyed not being in a casino hotel. Making our reservation at the Bonvoy reservation site a few weeks before our stay. Note on travel from the airport, taxis are flat rated at $28.00 + tip. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. We used Uber on our return to the airport for $12.50 + tip. The uber driver was friendly and hospitable and his vehicle clean and comfortable. Even offered a bottle of water. The Front Desk was amazing with their hospitality. Clarissa checked us in and was very warm and friendly. All associates were wearing masks but you could see her smile through the mask with her friendliness. While waiting to check in a bell men with another customer saw us and got us a couple of appreciated bottles of water. She recognized our status on Marriott Bonvoy, she said we were upgraded to a city view room on the 17th floor. She explained that we could have 1000 points or breakfast, we selected breakfast and gave us coupons for each day of our stay. She gave us drink coupons and dessert coupons that are part of the destination fee. She inquired if we would like daily housekeeping and we replied in the affirmative. Our guest room was spotless clean. We thought the pillows were a little flat but the bed lived up to the Westin reputation. Coffee maker in room with Starbucks coffee. 2 bottles of water was available and the bath amenities were individual. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had good water pressure. I was surprised to receive a text from Clarissa the next day just asking if we were pleased with our stay and if there was anything we needed. Later on I received an additional text from another agent at the desk, Nikki, Housekeeping was done everyday and we met one of the housekeepers who was very friendly during our stay, her name was Olga. Breakfast was very good and as part of being a Marriott Bonvoy elite customer the Westin honored it be giving us breakfast. You could choose from 3 menu items. I selected the American breakfast and my wife enjoyed the Continental. Service in the restaurant was speedy and hospitable. We had servers Carlos, Blanca and Marcus during our stay, All were very friendly, professional and efficient. It was great to see one of Marriott's full service hotel running like a full service hotel with housekeeping service (if you wanted), honoring the breakfast for Marriott Bonvoy elite guests. The destination fee does give a little value by including cocktails and desserts coupons that can be utilized. In summary this was a very good stay and we can recommend this hotel especially for those that do not like staying at a casino hotel. There is some construction going on in the lobby but it did not affect our stay. Note - there is also a Starbucks in the hotel for those that need their fix.

We picked the Westin because of our Marriott status (which has been hard to maintain since COVID), but also because it was close to Caesar's Palace, where we were attending a concert. Love that it is a non-gaming hotel, smoke free, clean and relatively easy walk to the Strip. Only one complaint: The toilet paper has to be the worse I have ever seen. I'm not exaggerating. When we checked out we complained about it and we were told, "they must have put the employee toilet paper in your room". Really? If this is what they provide to their employees, this is clearly cruel and unusual punishment. other than that, everything else was great. So fair warning. Another good thing: This hotel is pet friendly and actually has a very nice dog run to allow them to relieve themselves in a nice quiet private area.

I stayed at the Westin for a business trip and was so glad I chose this hotel. It was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was so good that we ate most of our meals here, even though there are tons of great restaurants in Las Vegas. We were able to spend a little time at the pool and it was lovely. A main reason for choosing this hotel was the fact that there was no casino. I would highly recommend the Westin and will be staying here again the next time I'm in town.

Several years ago, I submitted a negative review of this property. The hotel invited me back to show me that they had improved, and indeed they had. Under the leadership of Keith Shopnick, the General Manager (who has recently been promoted to a regional manager position with Marriott in Las Vegas, but is still based at the Westin Las Vegas), the hotel has vastly improved. The new staff is excellent and really has a commitment to customer service. The recently-renovated regular rooms are cozy and well-appointed with brand-standard Westin amenities, including the amazing Heavenly Shower (and yes, they do have great showers!) The suites are spacious and also very well appointed. The personalized attention from the staff is probably the best feature of the property. Within a few minutes of checking into my room, I received a text message from the manager on duty to make sure that everything was perfect with my room (it was), and to see if I needed anything. The manager checked in daily, via text, to make sure that my stay continued to be perfect (it was!). The location of the property is great. It is one block off of the strip, so it is not as loud and congested as the on-strip properties, but it is still close enough (less than a 5 minute walk to center strip) that you can enjoy the debauchery of the Strip if that is your thing. The property removed its small casino a few years back, which is a good thing if you want to avoid that late-night temptation of throwing that last 20 or 100 into a one-armed bandit (aka a slot machine) hoping that your luck will finally change. (Hint: Vegas didn't build multi-billion dollar casino hotels based on people winning!) The spa and gym are great too. And unlike many of the properties on the strip, the gym is available 24/7. So if you need to burn off one of the infamous and ubiquitous Vegas buffets so that you'll fit into your bathing suit, you won't be limited by shortened hours. And for Marriott Bonvoy elite guests, elite recognition is great. While there aren't a lot of suites on property, I've always been upgraded to at least a high floor room with a great view on all of my trips when a suite wasn't available.
