We went to the Sunset in May this year. I had never been as I always have stayed on the strip. I thought it would be nice to do something different so we stayed at the Sunset for 7 nights. I had some issues with the safety deposit box in the lobby and not in the room. Kind of inconvienient... More

I don't like casinos at all. So finding a good hotel where check-in not in the heart of the noisy, stinky, sensory overload casino was a wonderful, unexpected bonus! The registration door brings you right to check-in from where you can go to room tower without having to go through the casino. My room was big with an awesome view... More

Room was fine, but on the second day neither key card would work to open the room. It is a very long track back to the check in desk and the line was fifteen people long, all waiting to check in. Since reactivate got a key card is simple and there was just one lone lady working the desk, I... More

I attended a family event at this hotel. I found that the smoke ventilation was managed well. The common areas appeared to be visibly clean. The two breakfasts I ordered (current days) in the restaurant were hot and prepared satisfactorily (reasonable prices). The banquet meals were a mixed bag. The pizza at one gathering was low quality. The buffet (second... More

Check in took a very long time. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pillows were awful - way to plump. I felt like I was sleeping sitting up and woke up with a neck ache. The Italian restaurant had great good and good service. However, we went into the cafe about 11pm for a snack... More

Did not have any luck. Not terribly smoky smelling, however, many full ashtrays at slot machines. Never approached/offered a drink. Seemed to have a lot of machines - new and old. Not very crowded. Maybe next time will be better luck.

If you are looking a clean comfortable mid-range priced hotel/casino in Vegas that is off the bustle of the strip, I highly recommend the sunset Station and Casino. Part of the Stations Casino brand in Las Vegas, the casino is comfortable, with a upgrade over basic. Great pool area, with sufficient shade, attentive servers, and plenty of room to splash... More

It's been 10 years since my last stay. Gone are bargain rates and free coffee in rooms and beverage stations are no more! Better to gamble in your home state and dime a dozen local casino since Vegas is just another gamblin' town with same machines and jackpots. Stay home is my advice since there's always a casino nearby.

For Vegas, the buffet is very fairly priced. We have eaten here for breakfast and lunch several times. It's nothing fancy, more like the strip buffets of the 80s and early 90s but the food is good and there is plenty of varity. I believe though the best part is the desserts which are delicious. Also get a players card... More

While arriving very late - 3am (at fault was the airline, not Sunset Station), we were told our reservation held but, they had no double queen rooms. We were travelling with our 2 teenagers and could not be accommodated in one king room. We were given 2 king rooms so we had to be split up and were promised to... More
