Avoid! Seems like management is now using COVID as an excuse to save money. Spent 3 nights at The Cosmopolitan before our 4 nights here. Completely different experience. Here at check in we were told we would have to call for housekeeping everyday instead of telling them that we want it everyday. Then after calling and requesting we come back from a long day and the room isn’t made up. Needed a taxi, so called from the room and got switched around until ultimately no one answered. Went down from the room outside to the valet and asked for a taxi. Instead of getting a taxi, he gives me a number and tells me to call myself. Bought coffee in the lobby, head out to the pool and they tell us we can’t bring it into the pool area. We have to buy it from the pool. We both had a massage and my girl had a facial. They were enjoyable, but the desk attendant when we inquired about making the reservation was rude. I normally don’t post negative reviews, but was very disappointed with this resort and was surprised because of the many positive reviews. …
We stayed there last week and we were ready to checkout and go to another hotel as we felt the the security is too vigilant about mask wearing to a point we felt harassed and took away the enjoyment of a “resort” atmosphere and vacation. Especially when approaching the pool, it reminds me of a TSA checkpoint, no water allowed? This is unprecedented in my travels and I am in travel industry. The last thing I want to feel like is being at work and being harassed by a “no liquid ban”. Just a terrible feeling, especially on vacation and at a resort. The unnecessary vigilant security was also mentioned by another reviewer. GOOD: -Clean and appealing grounds and facilities. -Beautiful pool area and warm and clean pool water -Terrific fitness center -Nice and spacious room with nice bathroom. -Walking distance to other restaurants and Whole Foods -Nice upscale neighborhood that looks like a great place to live. -Decent prices for food. Bad: -Too much security personnel made it feel like we were in a military security facility. A strange feeling on vacation and on a “resort”. -A security checkpoint to get to pool. No liquid ban. Very odd. -Extremely greasy omelettes for breakfast. And lack of teamwork at Lucky Penny as hostess consistently abandons the entrance and disappears as people are lined up to get on a waiting list. -No extra roll of toilet paper placed in bathroom results in having to use Kleenex to wipe myself. Unbelievable and I have never seen this at a hotel. Even a motel 6 would have an extra roll. -Casino bar staff to take drinks while gambling was slow and not attentive. -Pool bar bartender was rude and got upset getting too close to the bar. We were excited to leave the resort and go to another hotel as the military atmosphere was too much for us. The place is over managed and misses the mark on small important details as described above.…
I hate posting this review, but it needs to be posted. We came here the 8-13th with several friends. Our Host was great with getting us a room on short notice, and a pick up from the airport, but the VIP experience stopped there. He never checked on us during our stay, and it was a disappointing surprise to find out at 5am when we needed to go to the airport that he did not arrange a car for us. Getting an Uber at 4:45 am is very difficult. Our room was the same room we had our last stay. There were 2 burned out light bulbs, and I had to call housekeeping to come and replace. I called 2 times and they never came. I don’t enjoy doing my makeup the dark. The yellow lights in the bathroom are not makeup friendly. On top of that, the lighting was so poor my husband was trimming his beard, couldn’t see and took too much off and ending up shaving his new lineup off. The pillows were awful and not the nice ones we had last time. They felt like sleeping on hard straws. We called housekeeping to bring news ones and they were the normal soft ones we’ve been used to from previous stays. The bed is comfy, but I can’t figure out why they Changed out their pillows. We also had to request toilet paper from house keeping. We had our service room light on 2 times but did not get our room serviced or fresh towels our entire stay. The hotel security is a joke. The mask police as I like to call them, are all jerks. We had a cabana for 3 days of our stay and witnessed several quest being harassed by the mask police. As soon as we saw them coming we put one foot in the pool so they couldn’t say anything to us. We brought our pool beer bucket pong and we were minding our business and they were having a fit about it. Security kept circling back around to make sure masks were on in between every drink sip. There was nothing enjoyable about it. We specifically got a cabana because it was worse down by the regular pools. It gets better. The cabana hostess took my husband’s drivers license to hold for the room. Why? I have no idea and then she forgot to give it back. It was an accident and they were so apologetic the next time we saw them. So here we are, Saturday night... in Vegas and security tells us there’s nothing they can do, come back in the am for his ID. Absolutely not acceptable. We finally get the manager to go walk out to the cabana cash register to retrieve it. Such a hassle. The gambling here was awful. We went during a promo they had offering a 200 gaming credit and 50.00 resort credit. The slots were so tight You couldn’t win any money. The most any of us were ever up was 250-300. Not even close to the wins we’re used to from here. Our friends also lost a lot of money this weekend. GVR got rid of a lot of games we really enjoyed and most of the games are the same. No variety. Really bummed Cashman was gone. Very limited selection and not a lot for old games. We checked out Tuesday morning, and had 1,600 in charges hit our bank account. I’ve called 3 times to ask for our bill. They have the right email address and never sent it. I’ve gotten the run around every time I call. Our friends had high bills too, and when they called their hosts to ask why they didn’t get any comps, they were told they got a free room and 150 in free play! Unbelievable. Our last stay we had over 1200 in comps. We lost about 7,000 this trip there and we can’t get a bill, or a ride to the airport or any meals comped. The only thing you do get for free is harassed by security. The one and only good thing I have to say is the food was amazing. We love eating at Hank’s and our waiter James is incredible. The Lucky Penny was also great, but James at hank’s is the man. We made a special point to request him for our dinning. Our last trip and host Courtney was amazing. That’s why we recommended this place in the past. I will never recommend this place after what all of my friends and myself went through. This trip was completely awful and I can’t tell you enough to find another resort that treats their VIP’s , like VIP’s. Avoid coming on their promo days Unless you enjoy throwing away money. …
I was so excited to stay here, but was disappointed from the onset. Not everything was disappointing, but knowing what I know now, I cannot recommend Green Valley Ranch to others. First, what I liked about my stay. 1. Beautiful gardens! The property has well-manicured landscaping and is visually appealing and welcoming. 2. Great pool with a small sandy beach. 3. Free parking. The reasons I'm giving this resort a two-star rating. 1. Poor customer service. It started at check-in and was consistent throughout our stay. This includes the person we dealt with at check-in, two different people at the pool, and unresponsive housekeeping. 2. The pool hours are from 10 am to 6 pm. Yes, everyone out at 6:00! 3. Outside food and beverage are not allowed in the pool area, including water. If guests are hungry or thirsty at the pool they must either leave, pay for over-priced food and beverages, or go hungry. 4. Bell carts are not available to guests to help carry luggage to rooms. Yes, they have bell carts, but you have to pay someone to carry your luggage for you. 5. Parking is free yes, but the parking lot is not conveniently close to hotel rooms. If you have to make more than one trip to bring everything from the car to your room, make sure you're wearing good shoes, because it's a hike and using the hotel's bell cart is not an option. 6. Poor/spotty internet. 7. Hallway noise is easily heard while in the rooms.…
First set of keys didn't work, then security says I must go down to front desk to get another set. Second set doesn't work, then security has to open the door and we have to wait for a locksmith until we can leave the room. While we are waiting another guy walks by saying that his key to his room didn't work either and that he had to pee. After driving 6 hours and carting luggage from the garage to wait in the hallway for 40 minutes was beyond frustrating and a instant trip mood dampener. Security and supposed Manager of property simply apologized. I would not recommend this place or their customers service to anyone...granted as I'm writing this while I'm still really frustrated. First time stay HORRIBLE first impression
