This lodging had been pretty rundown, but the new management has been working hard to make improvements, and it is succeeding. Our room looked to be freshly painted and furnishings updated. The Manager, Lucene Stover, was very helpful and actually came to our room when we were having trouble with our wifi and fixed the problem. This is very basic... More

the Sundown Lodge is located in the middle of Eureka, NV on Hwy 50, the "loneliest road in America". Eureka is in the eastern third of Nevada, an old mining town, now probably more a town supporting local hay ranches and some mining. It is the county seat. The Sundown is across the street from Raines Market and the Owl... More

We rolled into Eureka at 11 pm and found this quiet motel. As a single mom with teenage daughters, we were looking for an affordable but safe place to stay for the night. The manager at Sundown Lodge was welcoming, gave us a good price and took great care of us. Although the building seemed old, the room and bathroom... More

Friendly, hardworking owners provided homemade cookies. Room was clean. Watched the high school class of 2017 change the E16 (on the hill side above town) to E17 while we cooked dinner in front of our room. Felt like a nice community.

This hotel is the best bang for your buck in Eureka. The new ownership has made an enormous difference. The rooms are simple and clean. You get a free soda from the local Chevron Gas station for each night you stay. The price is nearly half that of their primary competitor. The staff is happy and helpful. I prefer the... More

I like traveling with my dog through remote desert towns and staying at the independent motels and lodges in those towns. The Sundown in Eureka is a perfectly reasonable stay. The beds are very comfortable, amenities are basic but nice. Wifi is free and strong. The towels are the softest I've ever had in a budget motel. It's a little... More

Stayed this November at the Sundown and just like before, my room was spacious and clean. The rates are really good - not like in Vegas or Boise. The front desk receptionist, Lucene, was cheerful and welcoming. What wowed me was when I started to leave and I had a flat tire -- the owner of the lodge, Rich McKay,... More

This place is in the middle of nowhere, so we were glad to find a comfortable room that took our dog too. Nice gal running the place was helpful in telling us where we could go for dinner & breakfast. Old furniture, and spartan, but everything was clean, and the beds & bedding were a little run down but comfortable.... More

2 double beds, free wifi, a/c, TV. Made reservations about 2 hours prior to arriving. Staff was friendly & accomidating. Ice machine in office. Owl casino restaurant & Raines market across street. Mostly quiet, except people upstairs were 'moving furniture'. Good enough when you're just passing through.

Coming into this small town during the busy early travel season without a reservation, I was so thankful to find a nice, clean and reasonably priced motel to stay for the night. We actually got the last room available! The room and bedding were very clean and comfortable and the location was great (close to the museum, restaurants, etc.) Breakfast... More
