We stopped here on 11/25/2016. We had stayed here a couple of years ago and were not happy but decided to give them another try. They had signs displayed prominently stating they did AAA and AARP discounts but when I asked about it, I was told I had needed to book my room 5 days in advance to receive the... More

We stopped over at Prospector as part of a 2 day drive. The staff is friendly. The rooms are big and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Good wi-fi. One restaurant on the property. We had breakfast there and it was quite good. Only complaint: We ended up with luke warm water both in the night and in the morning.... More

This hotel has more character than any place I've stayed in a long time - in a good way! The decor is interesting - from the giant Great Danes in the lobby to the western art lining the hallways. We also loved that we could come back to the hotel after a long day in the elements and not have... More

This hotel is definitely a "we will return" place for us. The atmosphere is fun and funky, with impressive artifacts that the owners have collected over the years. The rooms are large, comfortable and pet friendly (although there is definitely no pet odor). There is a restaurant located on site that specializes in Mexican food, but offers other types as... I thought it was a good place to stay with it's fun western atmosphere. They have gone over the top to have old western artifacts on display. Look how cool the rug is down the hall. It does need some updates. For instance in the restaurant, the wood flooring was like falling apart. Over all good.

The last time we were in this area, we stayed at Baker. That was a total disaster, so we decided to try Ely on this visit. The Prospector Hotel worked out very well. The decor was quite "casino" with dark colored furniture. We have seen similar decor in Reno. However, it appeared to be recently renovated and clean. All the... More

The staff was friendly and the room was quiet. It could have stood for some updating, including a new paint job and color. The pillows were also not up to more modern hotel quality. Still, it was a decent hotel, clean, and all the fixtures worked.

A large, very comfortable, well-arranged room at a pretty reasonable price. We had a room that faced the back, so super quiet. Spacious, clean, well-equipped, with fridge, even a wall mounted make-up mirror. Well maintained, quiet and nice. Definitely will stop there again on our way to red rock country or back. Pretty good Mexican restaurant on the premises.

We were pleasantly surprised. Needed a stop for the night on way down to Vegas. If you are looking for glitz and glamour this is not the town but this is... More
