Prairie Creek Inn is only 5 miles east of Lincoln, with easy access off 'O' Street, Highway 2, 34, and I-80. Located on a working farm, the campus includes: The "Leavitt House", a Local Landmark and Historic Site, built in 1911, with a very interesting history. It sleeps up to 16 in 6 bedrooms. The Cottage House is the original 1900 farm house, and has been completely remodeled into 2 suites, each sleeping at least 4, all with private bathrooms. The Lake Lodge, with 2 suites, each sleeping at least 4, all with private bathrooms, is at the edge of the lake and surrounded on all 4 sides by a cedar tree 'forest'. The Golden Sunset Farm Barn, just completely remodeled with a balcony, dance floor, and 4 restrooms is great for receptions, dances, and music events up to 299. The overall farm has a 12 acre lake, 2 1/2 miles of hiking trails, 3 acre native prairie, and 30 acres of trees. We are 1 mile from the Mopac Trail which goes from Lincoln east past Elmwood, on the way to Omaha.

Detailed Reviews
Prairie Creek Inn is a lovely respite tucked away just outside of Lincoln, NE. There is plenty of refreshing countryside, yet any modern conveniences are only a fairly short drive away!
The Inn is clearly a cherished preservation and restoration of history, welcoming guests to relax in unique environment.
The Trails Lodge is cozy, yet has a lofty interior. Also great during cold weather months, when one can warm up fireside after a luxurious bathtub. A porch and balcony add to refreshing views of nature, with a lakeside trail close by.
Not to be missed - especially for those tired of cramped hotel rooms, hearing doors slamming in the hallways all night, and standing in a shower designed for a toothpick

What a gem! Way out in the country; a magnificently maintained home and barn; the owners Bruce and Maureen are there to greet you; the staff are equally as happy and polite and helpful..They put us up on the third floor in the Inspiration Point room; fun to sit at the desk and watch a storm come in; then sit and watch the sun rise later...very nicely appointed room; the living room, dining room and the family room downstairs all available for all to use and relax in...it couldn't be more worth it! Please consider this lovely BNB instead of a hotel; not that far from Lincoln; it is really heaven in Walton..
ps- the homemade breakfast was very fresh and tasty, too.

Overall a great experience. We were greeted warmly by the housekeeper, who kindly gave us a tour of the entire property. We stayed on the main floor of the Cottage House. It was clean and comfortable. We utilized the full kitchen to be able to cook our own meals rather than having to go into town for dinner. The king bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was a great bonus!
We spent quite a bit of time fishing (catching a wide variety of catfish, bass, and bluegill), enjoyed a fire in the fire pit by the lake, and walked some of the nature trails.
We only met Bruce and Maureen briefly, but they were friendly hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. It was a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway.

Three friends and I stayed in the Outdoorsman Suite at the Lake Lodge, one of the housing units at Prairie Creek Inn. (We are professional women in our 60s on our annual "girls" weekend.) The inn keepers, Bruce and Maureen, were out of town and responsibility for running the entire facility for several days lay on the shoulders of their housekeeper/cook/handyman/grounds keeper Lesa. Our problems began the moment we stepped into the door of our suite--it was June and the suite was stifling hot. We could not find a thermostat anywhere. So for the first time of many that night, we had to call Lesa. Long story short, the thermostat was in the adjoining suite at the Lake Lodge, which was rented to another couple, so we had no control over the temperature of our suite. We found out later that the circuit breaker was also in the adjoining suite when we lost all power upstairs while trying to fix some snacks in the poorly wired "kitchenette," which consisted of a Mr. Coffee, a microwave, and dorm-sized refrigerator (the sink was in the bathroom). We were told the suite slept 6+, but there was only one private bedroom. The other "beds" were in the living area and upstairs loft (open to the downstairs) and consisted of lumpy futons and sofa sleepers which required major moving of furniture to make out. The sounds of people tossing, turning, breathing, sighing and snoring echoed throughout the suite all night long. We were also able to clearly discern the conversations of the couple in the adjoining suite, and could only assume they heard ours. The downstairs toilet plugged up, and despite Lesa's many efforts, remained clogged and unusable throughout our stay. Lesa went above and beyond what should have been required of her to address the numerous problems we encountered, but they were clearly beyond her ability to cope with and were not her fault. I did speak with one of the inn keepers, Bruce, after our stay and explained our dissatisfaction and requested at least a partial refund of our $600+ payment. He sent us $150. Needless to say, we will not be recommending Prairie Creek Inn to anyone. (My girlfriends and I have agreed to send our $150 refund to Lesa as a "tip.")

This property does not care about the health and wellbeing of their guests. I faced a medical emergency and a highly contagious and deadly disease, they chose not to refund my reservation money. I guess I should have gone and spread disease to all their guests. All of their communications to me were patronizing, snarky, and rude. Absolutely terrible people.

Unfortunately, this guest booked with an online travel agency, which does not allow me to make cancellations myself. The guest waited until a few hours before check in and (assuming the OTA didn't allow him to cancel, per their policies), tried to force me to cancel his reservation. I informed him I was unable to cancel it for him, and offered him a gift certificate to use any time in 2020, as he had said he came to this area frequently and wanted to stay with us again. His reply was, 'you can go to h...' We continue to hold this offer for him, and are saddened by his lack of understanding. Perhaps the OTA will change their policies, but until then, we have boosted our attempt to communicate with all guests to please review our cancellation policy, and that we will offer gift certificates redeemable anytime this year for those who feel they need to cancel on extremely short notice.

We rented cabin on the lake. It was a nightmare. Kitchen was in middle of a makeshift remodel. The furniture is old. My husband slept in his jeans that night. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. The cabin smelled like barnyard animals. Couldn’t leave that night due to having to leave my rv 1/2 mile down a very windy and muddy road. Couldn’t get my 81 yr old father in law with a cane down road during massive rainstorm. Otherwise we would’ve left that night. Bruce the owner said he would give me refund. I paid $500.00. He refunded me $82.66. What an insult!!! Don’t go there. Made our family trip awful!!!

My husband and I love staying at Bed & Breakfasts, that serve breakfast! This one does! Loved it and didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back! We stayed there for my husbands birthday/our anniversary! The food, staff, elevator and accommodations, were amazing! Loved sitting out on the front porch and it was so peaceful! There were birds, horses, cats, dog and fireflies. It's not far out of Lincoln. A little town, called Walton. The Bed & Breakfast is out on a farm!

My wife and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful stay at the lodge. The host (Lesa) was friendly, accommodations were clean and breakfast was tasty. As a bonus, the fishing at the private lake was terrific!

We had our wedding here, and I would NOT reccomend this venue to anyone that wants a lick of alcohol at their reception. Do your research and look at reviews elsewhere. Not worth the price for the hassle that you are given. Bruce, the owner, seems great until the actual event. He was very intrusive, and does not have a clear picture as to how my reception went down. I have 190 guests that say otherwise to what he says. He also will not hear us out to clarify things. When we tried to talk to him, he just shoved judgmental thoughts down our throats. Its very unfortunate for sure a lovely property.
