We enjoyed every thing about the hotel with the exception that it would be great if they would add some weights to the fitness center. The access to the Cowboy Trail is great with a wonderful walk to the railroad bridge over the Niobrara Valley

I frequently stay at the Niobrara and it is always very pleasant, clean, quiet and the staff are very professional and polite. There is coffee available in the lobby round the clock but no coffee maker in the room, just so you are aware. Would certainly recommend this hotel,

Thank you for your rating and review of your stay with us at The Niobrara Lodge. Please know that if you want a coffee maker in your room, please ask the front desk and we do still have a few for such purposes. Again, thank you for your review and we hope to see you the next time you are in the Valentine area!

Bathtub was disgusting, I complained and they assured me it would be remedied the next day. It wasn't touched. I complained again and they finally moved us to another room. The second morning at 6:30 am the breakfast area was dark and empty. Around 7:00 am someone arrived and started preparing breakfast. Several guests complained loudly about it and said they were going to McDonald's to eat.

I know exactly what day you are talking about and, yes, we did have an issue with our night auditor that night but it has since been resolved. I was not sure which room you were referencing on the bathtub issue but I asked the front desk staff and we have found the culprit and are trying to get it taken care of as well. Thank you for your review and I do sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered. I do hope you come back and visit us again!

Our room had limited electric plugs for CPAP machines, phone charging, etc. Since the nightstand next to the bed had none on one side, the clock radio and lamp had to be unplugged. The lighting was limited and poor in the room. The ceiling was a bit higher than the norm...it had a ceiling fan with a light. Two of the four bulbs were burnt out and the other two bulbs were a decorator style that put out very low light. The office desk had no desk lamp or electric plug capability. There was one outlet next to the floor behind the sitting chair but you would have needed and extension cord..There was no coffee in the morning during breakfast time when we were there..Dogs were barking. Walls were somewhat think and could hear neighbors. Dogs were barking as well. This motel was totally over priced for what we got.

The Lodge was clean enough, but quite dated. The biggest issue was the noise! You could hear everything in all adjoining rooms and quiet hours were not enforced. The breakfast was make ahead, and while there was good variety it was all cold or microwavable food. Overall this experience seemed poor for the room price.

The stay at the lodge was overpriced for the condition and services offered. The breakfast offered was just okay. It would have been nice to be offered some fresh fruit along with the packaged fare.
The room had not been cleaned well. There was something sticky (jelly or syrup) on the desk top. For a two night stay, the room was not made up. (Covid was the convenient excuse.) When checking in, and needing to use lobby restrooms, we found no paper towels for drying our hands, either in the mens' or womens' restrooms.
We have previously stayed here, but plan to stay elsewhere on our next visit to Valentine.

Thank you for our recent review and rating of your stay with us at The Niobrara Lodge. All feed back is greatly appreciated and taken very seriously. I would love to know what room you stayed so the issue of the sticky substance can be addressed with the proper person. The stayovers are not done as a product of covid because of the work force being somewhat non-existent in Valentine. Please know that if you would have needed something we would have been more than happy to comply with your request. It has been a trying year in the area with the shortage of employees but I am proud of those that are working and please know they are doing their best. Again, thank you for your review and I really do hope you give us another try the next time you come back to Valentine.

In Valentine for the weekend for a Niobrara float trip. Reserved three rooms for our group trip. All three rooms needed the shower heads either cleaned or replaced. They didn't work property and just trickled water and it was very hard to rinse out shampoo etc. We were also very disappointed to find a completely drained and inoperable hot tub in the swimming pool area. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable as well and were very small (little 1/2 pillows). We stayed on a Thursday and Friday evening on the second floor (there are three) and it was fairly loud and noisy at night.

Thank you for your recent review and rating of your stay with us at The Niobrara Lodge. We do appreciate it! The hot tub has been an issue for us. We tried to "limp it along" while waiting for someone to come look at it. Unfortunately there is not anyone local who could do the pressure test on the pipes so we are waiting for someone out of town to make the trek to Valentine. We hoping to get it fixed soon. By all means let front desk know if it is too noisy and they are to address that with the other guests. Please feel contact them next time. Again, thank you for the review and we do hope you come back and visit us again!

It just makes me so sad that "corporate" doesn't care if the breakfast times don't work for their guests, their internet doesn't work EVER when I stay there, and they seldom have front desk staff to assist. If front desk staff are there...."corporate" doesn't allow them to provide customer service!!! They even have a note at the breakfast bar instructing one cannot fill a travel mug!!!! It's ok because their coffee is the WORST I have ever tried. It tastes like they don't ever clean the coffee maker AND they buy the cheapest possible coffee available. This hotel has potential but it's not going to live up to it under this "corporate" oversight!

Room was clean, front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Decent options for breakfast. The hotel was very busy when we stayed, so they had a hard time keeping eggs and sausage available, but the crowd was large!

Thank you for our rating and review of your stay with us at The Niobrara Lodge. We do appreciate it! You are correct that the larger crowds do make it difficult to keep the breakfast stocked. They do try their best! Again, thank you for taking the time to complete our survey and for your rating. We hope you come back and visit us again the next time you are in the Valentine area!

Nice room. Nothing special. It was clean. a/c unit fan was a little loud for me. Breakfast was fair. Everything was packaged in plastic wrap, including the omelets. I stuck to a biscuit, egg & bacon breakfast sandwich which I heated in the microwave. As there is only 1 microwave in the dining area, I would suggest taking your items back to your room so you aren't waiting in line a long time. Was surprised they offered cranberry, apple and orange juice. Nice change.
