I discovered The Convent House B&B via my guidebook (Off the beaten path Nebraska). I could not have been made more welcome. A veritable and literal shelter from a Nebraska storm. The rooms and facilities are excellent. THE BREAKFAST WAS THE BEST OF MY WHOLE TWO WEEKS IN NEBRASKA. The B&B was opened in 1993, the hard work of three ladies - Marilyn, Marjorie and Erma ... they rescued the boarded-up convent house from further dilapidation. They have done an amazing job. The B&B has it's own kitchen for guest use - this is important as Steinauer is a small village without an abundance of near by eateries. During my stay breakfast was served in the community kitchen/diner. The ladies have created not only an excellent B&B but also a community centre. Power to them and thank you.…
When my family visits my grandparents in Pawnee we stay here. Nice and quiet, clean and comfortable. Nothing over-the-top. Great atmosphere for the kids. Breakfast is wonderful and a great chance for the family to get together and visit. We have never stayed here when other guests were occupying other floors.
My girlfriends and I spent two days at this incredible B&B just to have a few days away. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the hosts made us feel like we were part of their community for those few days. Peaceful and relaxing experience. We made ourselves at home, used the small guest kitchen for meals, and came home refreshed. Also, the church in this town is beautiful!!! A must-see!!!
We visited with three other couples. Had an excellent stay. Breakfast was a feast! Valentines meal (paid extra for the meal) was the best prime rib I've had in a long time. The ladys staffing it it were delightful. Highly recommend. Small town, Mass at the Church across the street was perfect. The Church is beautiful.
This was our 1st experience with a B&B. The complex was pretty cool. All guests areas were well kept and very comfortable. Staff was more than gracious in any request we had. Morning breakfast was made we love and care. Not a lot to do around the B&B but still worth the stay. Marge and the staff were great.
