Detailed Reviews
We usually stop in Omaha, but on this trip decided to push a bit further west and stay in Lincoln. Booked at the Scarlet because the rates were comparable and competitive with other properties in Omaha and Lincoln. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place turned out to be fantastic.
Be aware that even though the hotel is technically located on the University of Nebraska campus, it still about a 1 mile walk from the main campus. The area is still developing so it can feel a bit abandoned. Nevertheless it feels safe, and no issues with walking around. The hotel also offers a shuttle service.
The property is gorgeous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and the bed was super comfortable! My only complaint was my breakfast wasn't cooked well, but the waitress (Sam) was super awesome and made it right.
The hotel is not immediately adjacent to I-80, but is well worth the detour to stay here.
Be aware that the hotel charges $20 a night to park in a large non-descript parking lot across the street. A bit steep in my opinion, but given that this is technically on campus, they may not have much sway in this decision. If you will be departing before 8AM, there is street parking which would avoid the parking fee.
As someone else said, each room is themed after a Nebraska town. There are photos and a description of the town.
Bottom line, this hotel is definitely worth a try and stay!

We were traveling through on our Michigan trip. Doormen were very helpful meeting us at the car, explaining parking options. Hotel open for just over a month. Loved the restaurant, rooftop bar/patio options. Drink served on rooftop bar was exceptional per my husband and other couple(I went to bed) early). Bed was very comfortable, bedding luxurious, pillows not so comfy. Amenities very good in room, enjoyed the Nespresso coffee machine brewing an espresso coffee. Only suggestion is to have cups in room that fit machines( cups too big and had to go downstairs to ask for them as they were absent from the room.
Coffee/breakfast had great options for purchase. All were very tasty. Service was very good from all. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice smaller hotel in a unique location - The Innovation Campus. Lobby is very unique and wide open with a touch of class. Restaraunt serves good (a bit pricey) meals with a local flavor. The espresso shop has a wide variety of seating styles offering a great place to meet a friend or collaborate with colleagues. Located just north of the main campus of the University of Nebraska and within easy walking distance of the Bob Devaney Sports Center, home of the nationally ranked Husker Volleyball team.

Reservation made via Expedia. Hotel manager canceled it and said “you drew short straw” and wouldn’t/couldn’t justify why my reservation was canceled. Completely unapologetic about the cancellation and made no verifiable efforts to improve the situation. He wouldn’t call to verify a rebooking, he wouldn’t provide a discount, he wouldn’t provide a shuttle or parking voucher. He was only interested in getting me out of hotel. He needs a lesson in customer service but he’s too arrogant to realize it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I'm truly sorry you ran into these challenges. It truly sounds like we did not handle your experience the correct way and I would love to chat with you further. As the new General Manager coming on board, I take these types of things very seriously and hate that you left with this taste in your mouth. While I am not the gentleman you originally spoke to, I would love the opportunity to chat further if you would like and can be reached directly at the hotel # 531-300-6300 or feel free to shoot me an email to kyle.hovermale@scarlethotelnebraska.com. Again, my apologies for your experience.

Booked a king room and was given 2 queens at check-in by the inept receptionist who said, “Don’t worry, it’s the same price.” I just rolled my eyes after an 8 hour drive. No apology for giving us a room we did not book, nor was there a description of the hotel or facilities provided—Just handed us the keys with a blank stare. Get to room and a/c is not working. Maintenance arrives 30 minutes later (mind you this is 10pm). Room was hot all night. Hotel looks nice from outside but once you step inside—It’s a complete disaster. Obviously, we will not be staying here ever again on our trips to Lincoln.

+1
Awesome place to stay. We spent an evening at this hotel this past week. Each room is named after a town in Nebraska with a photo of the town hanging in each room. The rooftop bar looking toward Memorial Stadium was a great place to have an evening drink before we retired to bed. We had been traveling across Nebraska and Colorado the last week and this was the BEST bed we had the pleasure of sleeping. The air/temp in the room was quiet and was actually perfect.

We have been traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska for many years and our most recent visit to The Scarlet Hotel was exceptional! The hotel is new, pleasant, clean, well appointed, and beautifully designed. The rooms are comfortable and extremely quiet. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and provide excellent service. The food in the dining room, Well and Good, was excellent! The dining staff members, Dillon, Jackson and Uro exceeded our expectations by accommodating our every request and providing friendly service. The front desk manager, Tracy, was so nice and made us feel welcomed! The parking attendants, Dallas and Mark, were always so friendly and took great care to always open the doors for us and to have our cars ready. All in all this was a very pleasant experience and a much welcome addition to Lincoln, Nebraska! Thank you, Scarlet, we will be back!!

Stayed there one night while in town with a friend. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Our main issue was with the restaurant. When we went down for dinner, we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait because of reservations (we did not have a reservation). At that time, the restaurant was practically empty. We went back up to our room and waited for them to call us when they were ready. About 20 minutes later, we were called to come back down. The restaurant was still almost empty. We could not figure out what was with the “reservations”. Anyway, the dinner was delicious. We had the steak with fingerling potatoes. The breakfast the next morning was a different story. The eggs over easy were eggs over hard. The orange juice was terrible. It was not fresh squeezed. It tasted like it came out of a can, not good at all, and they charge $6 for a rotten glass of orange juice.

The Scarlet is my hotel of choice when I travel to Lincoln, NE. I tend to check in after work and it makes my trip when I check in and Zakiyyah is working. Zakiyyah does an exceptional job of connecting with the customer. The Barred Owl is a great location to go, with great drinks and views, go up to the roof and watch the sunset. Well & Good's food is amazing.

I had a great stay! I managed to get a great third party rate, so I had a wonderful "value" for such a wonderful property. The staff were all great and super helpful. The property is well maintained and nicely constructed! My room was a good size, with a large picture window and a super super comfortable bed!
Across the street is a great cafe. The hotel itself has a nice restaurant and bar! I recommend both! Parking is $20 per night for self service and $22 for valet.
I'd definitely recommend this property.
