Detailed Reviews
We just completed a week long stay here in our hybrid travel trailer. Very nice place with tons of shade (though some sites are not shaded at all). They have clean restrooms and showers, full hook ups, fairly level gravel sites, and tent sites. Pool and other kids attractions are by appt right now based on covid19. Dog park is wonderful: very large, secure, and shaded.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Camp A Way and we will continue to come here because we love this place! The property is quiet even though it’s next to a road. You seriously don’t even notice it. The grounds are beautiful and every year they improve their sites and property. They even have an option with a couple deluxe sites that have a fun comfortable reading swinging chair and 4 chair table and a grill that I would highly recommend.
The location is close to The University of Lincoln which makes it a prime location to visit our son. You can tell the owners love this place and they are so easy to work with. Any time we’ve had a request for anything, they were extremely accommodating. They even had adorable activities for the kids over Easter.
The people that come here have all been very friendly. If you’re looking for a place to stay for a couple days, we would highly suggest this place as it’s worth your time to come and visit if you’re crossing the country or just need somewhere fun to stay.

We got a call about 100 miles out asking us how soon we would arrive. They explained that when this park was built (over 50 years ago!) things were done differently. Seems our site is often used as a shortcut to bring rigs to their sites. What had we gotten ourselves into? Turned out to be one of their best sites (B5) in a gorgeous park. It was wonderfully peaceful (especially since it was a weekend) but anyplace that has a water balloon machine is probably crazy during the summer. There’s lots here for kids to do! I was also told that weekends when the local college has games, alumni love it here. The sewer dump was elevated, requiring an elaborate piece of sewer hose engineering to overcome some basic physics. Internet bandwidth is limited but it was more than adequate for emails, etc. We had a wonderful experience here but I’m sure glad we visited during a calmer time & got one of their best sites!

We paid a premium price to stay at what we thought would be a really nice RV resort only to find that it was only average. Most of the sites were occupied by permanent residents with more than one vehicle which gave the place a crowded, messy look. The tables that they provided at each site needed repair and painting
If you have children, know that you have to pay extra for activities. These are only offered for a short time on the weekend.
All in all, we thought this RV park was only average and certainly not worth the premium price.

We appreciate your time in giving feedback. We're saddened your stay didn't meet expectations and we will use your input to make improvements. This year, the entire world endured supply shortages and delays, and we really appreciate guests' understanding that we prioritized the limited resources towards safety rather than cosmetics. Due to COVID-19 Health Measures, every business has had to make adjustments. To offset the inconvenience that we must operate at limited capacity, we made our water slide, jump area, and some other activities 100% complimentary for the 2020 season as noted on our Corona Response web page. Our City Codes have very strict rules restricting the numbers and duration of visitors to prevent permanent guests in an RV campground, but campgrounds are seeing greater numbers of families who travel with more than one vehicle, just how a 42' motorhome, once a novelty, is now commonplace, so too are 2-car travelers.

We just visited this park for the first time. What a GREAT place to stay; peaceful, tidy, comfortable. The people who work at the park are friendly, welcoming, and work hard to make it a nice place. There is lots to do for kids, including a cool little “train” with individual cars that pulls kids around the park - FUN !! Nice dog park on site. And, convenient to get to downtown. This is one of the nicer parks we’ve stayed at. We’ll be back anytime we’re in the area.

Camp A Way Campground is our 128th stop and we stayed for 7 days. Very convenient to I80 and 180 and less than 10 minutes to downtown. Check in was quick and the staff was personable/professional and we were escorted to our site. Chose a patio site (smoker, fire pit, patio furniture, swing and extra landscaping) - our site was huge! Speaking of huge, the dog park was one of the biggest we have run across in our travel and had nice grass. The park is kept very clean as was the laundry room. There are very mature trees throughout the park which provide excellent shade on the warm days. In terms of road noise, there is some but hardly noticeable inside. If you have kids, this place would be excellent given all the activities they have available. All in all, would rate this park a 4.5 and would definitely stay here again in the future. Connectivity (2:30 pm): Verizon 241.0 down/26.8 up; T-Mobile 71.8 down/3.89 up; Camp WiFi 70.0 down/42.7 up and was excellent throughout our stay.

We stayed overnight on our way through and turned out we had a problem with our electrical cord on our motorhome when plugging in. We thought it was a problem with the post but the owner came over and determined it was our cord and helped us fix it for no charge. He happened to carry that part so I purchased the part and he fixed it no charge. That was so very kind and saved us a lot of money! We also like the park with nice pull through.

This is a very well run rv resort! The spots are the most level spots I’ve stayed in. You have quick access to the freeway but The highway it isn’t loud in the park. There are loads of activities for the kids. It’s very clean. We had one small issue and the staff was at our site within minutes to fix it. The wifi signal is great as well.

DON’T go here if you’re a big A class. Extremely tight narrow curvy 2 lane pulling into the park with guard rails and low trees. Ended up doing thousands of dollars of damage on the guardrail to our coach. Turning onto the road from a busy highway. Campground has good reviews. The lady that checked us in was empathetic. The lady who has worked at the park for a while wasn’t kind at all. She said “she wasn’t driving” so basically so sad too bad. The campground has great reviews so planning ahead I thought we’d be fine. We talked to others at the park that were our size and they were nervous getting out of the campground without damage. Definitely would never return.

Was very pleased with our stay at Camp a Way! It is a beautiful campground for being a private campground. Our site was very nice and easy to set up. Even though there are interstates bordering the campground it was remarkably quiet. Will use this again if need to.
