Excellent food as always, fantastic menu and an extensive selection of wines and ales. Somewhere I editor recommend for any special occasion. Always receive a warm welcome, best to book in advance though.

Stayed overnight with the family as part of my 70th birthday celebrations. Very welcoming staff, lovely comfortable rooms and a great menu selection both at dinner and breakfast. We all had a great time and I would heartily recommend the Bear's Paw to anyone wanting to stay or dine there. I knocked one star off because there was no shower... More

My son and I had another amazing meal here at Sunday lunchtime. Never disappointed the food, service, atmosphere and everything absolutely perfect. Our meal was so good the pie was huge we both struggled to finish it. 10/10 off the scale soooooo good - a must visit

Excellent rooms which ought to be noisy as they are directly above the busy bar & dining areas - but you could be in another building; comfortable & spacious accommodation. Bar has excellent choice of beers & wines, the food menu is large & varied, and the service is efficient & relaxed! Easy free car parking, good wifi, but no... More

I have eaten here many times and cannot recommend it enough. The cuisine is fantastic and the menu offers something a little different from other restaurants in the area - although there are dishes on the menu to suit all taste's. The bar area is cosy with open fires and leather seating. There are facilities for the disabled although I... More

We are four friends who live in separate parts of the UK and chose The Bear's Paw as our destination for a long overdue catch up weekend, mainly due to it's fantastic reviews. The hotel certainly lived up to expectations with very clean, well furnished rooms and a quality feel. Unfortunately the temperature of the shower was a little temperamental,... More

Excellent place to stay ...good bedroom with views to the front. Had bar meal...my scampie was overcooked but rest good. Plenty choice at breakfast. There was a fan in our room which we used as the "country smells" were very strong and opening the window was not an option!

Second visit in as many weeks and yet again absolutely faultless. The menu has an excellent choice from the "usual" to something slightly different (yet equally as tasty) The service is second to none and it's fairly priced so it's not somewhere you only go as a treat. It's vastly becoming one of my favourites - well done to all... More

Love Love Love this place, we celebrated my step daughter's 21st Birthday yesterday with family, the food was wonderful as always... Love the food so much (I must add I'm extremely fussy because I'm an ex chef myself so find it hard to eat out) it must be extremely fantastic because we've now booked for New Years Eve and booked... Spent a Friday night here with my wife on her birthday. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The room was spotless and luxurious. Ate in the restaurant area and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The surroundings were spot on being a mixture of modern and traditional. The Victorian style tiles in the corridors were beautiful. Breakfast was superb and... More
