We loved our stay here. I did feel it was rather pricey especially because many hotels are still using Covid as an excuse not to have daily cleaning but otherwise the location was amazing and the staff incredible!! They were so kind and helpful and gave us lots of ideas for hiking in Whitefish as well as ways to get into Glacier with the frustrating inability to acquire vehicle passes. They spent a lot of time with us helping us navigate it all. They also let us borrow bear spray so we didn't need to buy some. The morning breakfast was also set up early which was nice since we had to leave so early to drive to East side of Glacier National Park. The kitchenette was great after a long day of hiking. It was nice not to have to dress up and go into town to eat. We threw some food together and then sat outside in one of their beautiful sitting areas. The room was large and comfortable. Truly the only negative was the priciness but it seemed rather standard for the area.…
This was our 2nd stay at Kandahar Lodge. It’s cozy, welcoming atmosphere; friendly staff who want to be sure guests are happy; ski-in and out (shuttle also available to the main lift) brought us back. Eleven years later this stay met our expectations. Love the casual vibe and gathering space with wood burning fireplace at the end of a ski day. Continental breakfast is European style so good protein (and fruit and oatmeal) as well) to fuel the day. And if can’t spring for an exquisite meal at Cafe Kandahar (you must if you are able), the Snug Bar serves dishes prepared by the Cafe. Beds are firm and comfortable. Rooms very quiet and clean. Free snow bus takes you to town and back if you aren’t renting a car.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a true ski lodge. Great location for skiing. I stayed here only because of availability. Although, the free SNOW bus runs from Whitefish to this lodge during the day, it is not easy to get to and fro. Uber and Lyft were not an option, and the hotel does not offer a shuttle to whitefish or the airport. The restaurant is well-known and very good. Expect to pay $65 per person for a 4+ course meal not including your drinks. The Snug Bar is just that,... Very snug. It's a 14' X 7' room with a bar and 2 high-top tables. The food is good from Snug bar and you can eat in the lobby. Set your expectations low for the complimentary breakfast. It's all take-out pre-packaged snacks, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, OJ, milk. Not sure if this is temporary. There aren't many other meal options on the top of Big Mountain. …
This place was great. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Giant hot tub which was nice to relax in. While this isn't a lodge in Glacier Park, it is doable to drive to the west entrance from here. We were here in the summer so we liked the location to town and summer activities on the mountain. Free continental breakfast which was great.
My family and I had a great time here at Kandahar Lodge. The drive leading up the mountain was breathtaking and once we arrived, the atmosphere and staff were nothing but inviting. The hotel is very cozy and definitely gives you the quaint lodge feel. The food and Huckleberry lemonades were great. If I were asked to be one hundred percent transparent I would agree with another reviewer in saying that for people with mobility challenges, this could be a difficult hotel to reside at. There are only a few parking spots directly next to the lodge, and the remainder of the parking area is down a small hill across the street. Also, there are no elevators which means you will be carrying all your luggage up and down multiple flights of steps. Our room had a loft with two queen beds, in which the stairs leading up to it were extremely narrow. I'm a large guy and had to turn somewhat sideways to go up and down. We had a great time and I think we would stay here again. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We might just pack a little less.…
The lodge was nice but we were put on the third floor and there was no elevator with all the luggage and some slower mobility issues so that wasn’t enjoyable. Room was lovely if u were staying in the king bed but anyone staying in the loft had steep stairs to climb. Again, not easy for those with mobility issues. The breakfast was pitiful for the cost of the hotel. Even a Hoiday Inn Express we stayed in had a much better breakfast. I will give the lady at the front desk a 10 star because she brought us some toiletries we forgot plus extra towels very quickly. The bedding was awesome and super comfy. While the lodge is gorgeous, I wouldn’t stay here again unless I had the first floor and the breakfast was better!
Great customer service in a beautiful setting but note with that view comes a drive into Whitefish. Rooms and beds comfortable, but furniture throughout lodge is tired. Some of the equipment in the Exercise room could use updating. Flow of the lodge is awkward with ole ty of stairs.
Excellent location at the base of Whitefish Mountain. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed being able to ski in and out on our quick weekend trip. Breakfast was included and our daughter enjoyed the hot tub.
The Lodge is essentially ski in/ski out and has all the amenities you might want during a ski holiday. The staff are very professional and accommodating. Try the onsite restaurant, Cafe Kandahar as the food is first class. After a day on the slopes, you can enjoy the hot tub or schedule a massage. You can also enjoy a well deserved beer at Snug Bar.
The place felt more like a cozy apartment than a hotel place. It's got a true mountain lodge vibe to it, not just the name. It was quiet, private and..well, cozy. We stayed in a lodge studio with a kitchen stocked with everything we needed to cook a family meal. Staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The whole resort and surrounding nature give you beautiful views at any direction. It was so relaxing. Loved the winding mountain drive every day, to and from the resort. Loved the town, the national park. Wild Huckleberry is a thing here for locals and visitors. The only thing could be better was the laundry room. Laundry machines needed an upgrade. They were old and loud right next to the restaurant's entrance. Other than that, our stay at Kandahar was enjoyable. We had a wonderful time exploring Whitefish, Glacier NP of Montana…
