First off all the location is top notch. It in a stones throw from Whitefish's historic district with the street of bars and restaurants. The hotel is a little run down, but it's very clean. I have stayed many times and never thought my room was dirty. I asked for an office side 2nd floor room when booking via booking.com...

We checked in only to find out room had a back alley entrance, like a speakeasy, with a tiny 12" x 12" window, hard beds, tiny room, nothing even close to the photo on their website. We decided this was unacceptable for five nights and requested a refund, after finding another, better local hotel - much larger, more comfortable and...

We had booked in to another place in Whitefish but decided that as we were going to be there for five days we wanted to stay somewhere better. There were vacancies and we saw three rooms, choosing 39 because it offered the space that we wanted. We loved the room and the housekeeping was great. Lovely shower and plenty of...

If you are having any events in the town, then this location is great for a night out with no need to drive. Room was clean and had been renovated. The lobby is small but cozy. This hotel also allows for US shipped items to be held here for pick up.

We have stayed a lot over the years at the downtowner but this will be the last time. The beds were uncomfortable, the hair dryer didn't work, the bathroom light and fan were so loud. The don't seem to maintain there main park lot and it was like a skating rink. The price for the room is to much, there...

This is a very nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. However, it is right on a 90 degree bend of the main highway through town so cars tend to accelerate as they pass. The rooms are not insulated at all. The WiFi is on the slow side. The rooms are nice but crowded. spacewise. The breakfast is only...

We pulled into Whitefish late in the day after a long drive from Alberta. Knowing next to nothing about the town and being too tired to drive around looking at different hotels, we just stopped at the first place we saw. The downtowner is in a great location, literally right downtown adjacent to a cute little coffee shop, an organic...

This is a good place to stay if you want to be near the historic city area. They have a nice lounge, and are very helpful. What I liked most of all was the close proximity to some very good restaurants.

I've stayed at the Dowtowner twice in the last two months. Once on business and once for a vacation. Both times were very nice. The rooms are older and the remodel job on some of the rooms is pretty cheesy but the place is clean, the hotel is quiet, and the staff were very nice. You can't beat the location....

After staying at all the condos and other places near the town, this simple place is a hidden jewel. Yes, dated and lovely, it is within walking distance (2 blocks) of everything in Whitefish at night. Don't expect anything special as it is old but just suitable for us on the road skier, motorbikers, mountainbikers and hikers. Simple conti breaki...
