I took my daughter and grandson and paid $660 a night to stay here - what a disappointment . Internet rarely worked. Never any towels for guests in the inside pool area. Front desk staff were rude on a daily basis. When we booked, we were told we’d have a ‘lake view’ room in the main bldg, and when we arrived we were shuffled off to the secondary bldg where we had a ‘parking lot’ view and no luggage assistance and up to 30-45 minute waits for room service. Be prepared- poolside bar service takes hours, the hot tub doesn't work, and poolside dude assistance is NON EXISTENT. Yes we’re fools for paying this amount, especially when accommodations and service were so poor.

Hotel's Favorite
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake is by far the best Hotel we stayed at while traveling through Montana. As soon as you walk into the lobby, one realizes you're in a very special place with its Grand Fireplace and wildlife trophies adorning the walls. Our room was in the Viking Lodge which was convenient because it's close to the gym and has a lovely pool and Jacuzzi close by. It's also just a short walk over a very scenic Sky Bridge to get to the Main Lodge. The room we had was updated and had a great bathtub. I was also pleasantly surprised at how good some of restaurants were in the town of Whitefish. However, you can't go wrong making a reservation at The Boat Club Restaurant at the Lodge. We had dinner there twice and breakfast there all four days. Excellent! While visiting this beautiful Lodge, make sure to stop in The Mercantile where you'll find some unique merchandise. I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout to Lynne who helped us pick out some great gifts as well giving us sage hiking & traveling tips. Overall, we loved our time at the Lodge and look forward to a return trip.

I had booked this hotel last October for my daughters wedding in July. We were able to get the King Bed lakefront view, top floor. The hotel was very easy to find, just pull in where it says valet parking. This is a free service and makes getting in and out of the hotel very easy. We arrived around 5pm on Tue, and did not have to wait at all to get checked in. The bed is pretty comfy and enjoyed having a way to open the windows to enjoy the coolness of the morning. They did have a coffee maker that made individual cups of coffee, but it would have been nice to get a fresh pot made before 7AM. If you are arriving from the East like we were, I could have used a cup at 5AM, and the room service & coffee bar were not up and running yet. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and if I were in the area again, I would stay at this location. Make sure to eat at the Boat Club for Breakfast & dinner as this was the highlight of our stay!

Overall, positive. A great family vacation. Be forewarned, if they don't have two queen beds available, then they will charge you for a roll-out bed per night. No business should penalize families with children.

Sleep Quality
Room Tip: 800 bucks a night, but still worth it at least for a few days, in my opinion.

We decided to splurge for a milestone birthday and booked two nights at nearly $500/night. We checked in and discovered that we needed to haul or luggage across the street to the Viking wing -- no carts or porters available. Our room was on the first floor with a view of the parking lot, which meant that we had to keep the heavy curtains closed at all times. Looking around the resort, it appears that a good share of the rooms face the busy road or a parking lot. The room was large and clean. As far as relaxing at the resort, forget that. The only thing available was kayaks. There were no chairs at the crowded pool and the beach is gravel with limited chairs and no towels or umbrellas. Luckily, we couldn't book a massage at the resort because we found a wonderful place in town that was considerably cheaper. You need to book dinner ahead of time. The food is mediocre (some good restaurants in time but make sure to book ahead). The dining room staff were friendly and professional as were the shuttle drivers. The rest of the staff seldom smiled and seemed disinterested in helping. For example, I needed to break a $20 so that I could tip and was told they could not and didn't know where i could. As far as we could tell, you get nothing for an expensive room. Housekeeping is by request only, there are no additional services other than the shuttle, and no resort feel.
