Detailed Reviews
We had the best time at The Pine Lodge! This hotel is fantastic for families. It’s right on the river and offers boats (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes) and bikes. They even had bikes and helmets for our kiddos. We were able to ride into downtown Whitefish from the hotel with a short ride.
The hotel is not fancy but kept up so well and is lovely. There’s popcorn and smores available in the lobby. The kids loved swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool overlooking the river. The breakfast in the morning was great and the person serving the breakfast was there the whole time making sure everything was refilled. Free coffee and hot chocolate were a great treat. The housekeeping came daily (seems rare these days).
The Pine Lodge is a real gem in Whitefish! Perfect for visiting Glacier!

My spouse & I had a great trip from Calgary, AB, CAN for 3 nights at Pine Lodge. We drove through the majestic Glacier National Park's Going-to-the-Sun/Logan's Pass for an autumn experience. Nothing was open at Glacier St. Mary's east entrance gate or Logan Pass' visitor center due to late in season. Road was still open with the absence of any snow, but historically closes mid-October.
We stay at Pine Lodge 2-3 times per year and we like the rooms facing river, games room & pool. The staff is always excellent and friendly to handle and need or request.
The breakfast is not what it used to be in the past without the chance to make a fresh waffle with berries & whipped cream among other things. The hot tub is just that with non-working jets (for the past 4 seasons). The button to activate the jets has a plate over top where it used to be. It was always nice to enjoy the massaging jets of the hot tub after a long drive, day of skiing or just because. I hope this is a priority to fix.
The hotel is also going through a change of ownership from Choice Hotels to a local group Averill Hospitality who owns the Firebrand and The Lodge on Whitefish Lake. I look forward to this new change and the local attention and enthusiasm of Whitefish that they will provide to this property!

The hospitality is great, breakfast is available at reasonable hours (until 10am!), ample parking, awesome pool. There is a lovely walking trail right outside your doorstep, and it’s close to the shopping are of town. Only thing that wasn’t my favourite was that it’s not very sound proof and I could hear all of my neighbours in their rooms.

Let me start off with the reason this hotel got a 1 star review. When I arrived at the hotel and entered my room it too all of a couple of minutes to notice the giant bloodstains on the sheets on one of the beds. If I noticed it that quickly, I’m fairly certain housekeeping saw them as well and went ahead and put them on the bed anyways. After calling the front desk to let them know we told them it would be fine to wait until morning to replace the sheets on that bed as we just wanted to settle in and get to sleep. Well, after a full day at Glacier we returned late afternoon to find no one had been to our room. After calling the front desk again we were told there was a note and housekeeping must have not made it to our room yet. You would think replacing the BLODDY SHEETS would be a priority, but apparent not. All this combined with the lackluster views, what’s basically a shared balcony with the room next door (small rail separated the two) and a street that was almost impossible to access because of traffic leaves this as a no go for me. There has to be better options available in Whitefish

There was not 1 thing i could want. Beautiful rooms, pool, amenities. Mug, smores, popcorn, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, included with stay. Staff was up scale, polite, and accomodating. Its a must stay! Only 30 min drive from west glacier national park.

My family and I had a blast in Whitefish in late December 2023. We went there to ski. We knew there wasn't a lot of snow, but we made the most of it and had a great time nonetheless.
It was our second time staying at The Pine Lodge. We really enjoyed it the first time we stayed there and thought we would try it again. It did not disappoint! It's a great place for families and in a great location. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. They are happy to provide a shuttle ride to and from the airport, around town, or to the ski area on the mountain. Doug and Austin were particularly awesome! They are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with them.
We will definitely be back!

The place was overrun with a wild fraternity party. I had no problem with the kids (although many appeared to be under 21 and drinking excessively) I was more upset with the hotel. The frat books their spring formal here every year, fine just give your other guests a fair warning it was going to be "Animal House" for the weekend

The Pine Lodge is a beautiful resort in a fabulous location and its rates are quite reasonable. The staff, from the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the maintenance people, are incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. The property is lovely and well maintained, and I found my room and all the other areas of the hotel very clean. I stayed there for six nights after my original plans went askew, and I plan to go back next year.

My son and I stayed here 4 nights while visiting Glacier National Park. We loved everything about The Pine Lodge. We had a very nice room on the River and enjoyed the hotel amenities, especially the deck and fireplace in the lobby. We walked to the town of Whitefish on the paved sidewalk behind the Lodge as we were lucky to have beautiful weather during our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend The Pine Lodge.

This is an average hotel with above average pricing. We paid almost $60.00 in fees. Had the hotel been cleaner, the hot tub in good order and the walls more than paper thin, it could have been a more pleasant stay. There was a large willow tree at the end of the dock that was clogging the waterway, making swimming or kayaking unpalatable. We will be crossing this property off our Whitefish stay list.

As I recall they just held the CC for the room and didn’t charge the card until we arrived.
Probably best to ask the hotel directly. They are very nice folk
Yes, for well behaved dogs. Super welcoming!
Although we haven't made that drive in a long time, I think it would be close to an hour to the park entrance.
