Absolute class through and through. I didn't know what to expect being our first time staying at a "ranch" but I was perfectly pleased with every aspect of the Bar N Ranch. The staff were great. Check-in was a cinch, the cabin was gorgeous, so were the common areas of the lodge, and had everything we could have needed including a welcome bottle of champagne and starter s'mores kit for whenever we fired up the wood burning fireplace....and we loved it especially since we got an early cold snap and even some snow while we were in the area. SNOW! In early SEPTEMBER! As an mid-Atlantic east coast guy, it was quite a site. And the food!! Oh my, the food and service at Embers was seriously 3 star Michelin worthy in every way. They managed to keep everything delicious and service top notch in spite of the concessions they had to make to maintain compliance with covid guidelines AND serving a full house on the last weekend of the season for Under Canvas, their on property (which is also gorgeous) sister "glamping" resort which we'd love to come back and try for a glamping experience that I understand is not to be duplicated.
All in all, The Bar N Ranch was the perfect home base for our days in Yellowstone. Was it a bit pricey, yes but in my opinion the service, comfort, elegance, culinary delights and postcard perfect scenery made it more than worth it. We'd definitely stay at the Bar N Ranch again.

I stayed with my family in the 4 bedroom cabin over Valentine's weekend. If you are looking for a boring, boxy, standard hotel room...look elsewhere! This ranch has an enjoyable, rustic, old west character and feels wonderfully solitary while still only being a few minutes from town. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, and were even offered a tour of the big lodge's rooms. The staff was very informative about meals and activities available both on and off the property. When we entered our private cabin we were greeted with cute valentine's treats and cards, nice touch. The large and cozy cabin was clean and well stocked with towels, dishes, and plenty of firewood. The kitchen has a full sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (including fresh grounds!), and a full size bbq grill on the back deck. There is also an exclusive hot tub on the back deck, but it was closed for the winter (below freezing temps most nights, I get why). The living room had a tv, dvd player, and Apple tv, and the wifi worked well in every room. The large stone fireplace was open to both the kitchen and the living room. The big log beds are super comfy and piled with warm blankets. Cute themed furniture and artwork throughout that reflects the area and local wildlife. The cabin included breakfast each morning in the lodge, and that was the best bacon I've ever tasted! We also ate dinner in the lodge restaurant one night and it was spectacular! The friendly staff was always there to help. I was very impressed with the general manager, Andrew. He helped arrange a tour of Yellowstone with Alpen Guides in an old bombardier snow coach and also helped facilitate snow machine rentals in town and provided maps of the local trails and tips of the best places to go. And if that wasn't enough, Andrew provided us with free snowshoeing equipment and personally led us on a snowshoe tour of the ranch property! Big bonus: the ranch is dog friendly! Our little pup enjoyed being able to freely wander about our cabin with us and napped for hours next to the warm fireplace (he didn't much care for the outside cold and snow, haha). This is an amazing property, I highly recommend it.

Friends, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent stay with us at Bar N Ranch. Winter has truly been a magical time that our guests are enjoying. The winter staff members are working very hard and every job on site to make every moment of your stay memorable. We love the Ranch and we love weloming new guests, so it is easy for us to get excited. The beautiful 4 bedroom family cabin on property is Truly a unique place to spend a break from the rest of the world. The views are unobstructed and inspiring. The cabin provides a feeling of spacious privacy, while being tucked up alongside the beautiful Lodge with all of our available amentieies. Thanks for mentioning the amazing food, brought to you by Max, Joey, and Chad.. The staff all agree about the delicious bacon. We are happy your four legged family member enjoyed long naps by the warm fire. There are many dogs visiting the Ranch who experience snow for the first time. Most really love it. Teenagers who are genearlly tethered to a video game, who are instead exploring for the first time on snow shoes are super fun for the family Dog. We are glad and not at all surprised that you enjoyed your guided coach into the stunning winter of Yellowstone National Park, and also took advantage of the world class snowmobiling. Thank you so much, again, for sharing for thoughts. We appreciate you reommending us. We wish you many rewarding safe adventures to come. Especially if that leads ya'll back to stay with us.

I‘m not someone who likes to leave bad reviews but here’s my disappointment on a $387 room: you got to be on top of your game with the cleaning, specially during a pandemic. The floor wasn’t clean, I found a hair inside the bathtub, spiderwebs. Sheets seamed ok. I understand the hotel might be understaffed and all but it’s just unacceptable, at least for that amount of money. Everything else was good, Leigh at the reception was great, loved the little s’mores treat and the food at the restaurant was very good too.

We loved our Cabin #15 with pastoral views out every window, a great fireplace, and a comfy bed. The Lodge is beautiful too with huge fireplaces, coffee and whatnot, games and exquisite lodge/cabin detail everywhere. The restaurant attached was perfect so we didn’t have to leave the premises during our overnight stay, and Eric was so friendly and helpful. Our cabin also had a fridge/freezer, microwave and sink so you can also bring your own snacks. Our cells worked, WiFi is available and our cabin had Direct TV so we could enjoy the middle of nowhere and still catch the Seahawks game. Haha. The front desk staff was great too when we checked in and they showed us around. It sounds like (like many places right now) they are transitioning due to staff and supply issues but our stay was perfectly pleasant. There is also a large Under Canvas glamping community on the property for summertime (we visited in October so it was closed) with additional food and beverage options. So we’ll definitely recommend this place and keep it in mind for ourselves. The quintessential western setting for visiting Yellowstone and the Tetons!

Bar-N-Ranch was wonderful. The staff were kind and helpful!! They have a restaurant on site that Chef Joey cooked the best Steak and brussel sprouts I’ve ever tasted!! Best waiter, Chad he gave us great ideas of where and what to explore!!! The front desk man, Austin was a great guy, helped my husband with a heavy suitcase. ( My husband has a bad leg from the service) Then Rob the great story teller, he knew all the history about the ranch he has been there for 31 years!! Debra gave us a wonderful welcome!!! I can’t remember everyone’s name but everyone went beyond to be kind and helpful. They were wonderful!! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because u can’t regulate the heat in your room. We were to hot all week. We wanted to put a fire on in our fireplace in our room but couldn’t because it was to hot. We told the front desk and did what they advised but it continued to be to warm. The beauty of the ranch and all the decorations is to be seen!!!

If you want a cabin with dirt on the floors, heaters that won’t turn off, dirty windows, and a surly manager, this is the place for you. And if you want to pay $400 a night for the privilege of sleeping on the couch because your room is 80 degrees then this is really the place for you. If you don’t want a room meeting this criteria, don’t stay at the Bar N Ranch!!!

This ranch is set back off the road complete with gorgeous mountain views. Our accomodations were very comfortable, the housekeeping in the common areas was exceptional, the staff was very friendly. Per Ranch memo: Due to Covid, we did not have daily room cleaning. This was not an issue for us. They made us feel like we were "home". Close to all activities Yellowstone has to offer. Will definitely return!

Our family really enjoyed the 4 bedroom cabin and our dog loved exploring the ranch. The free loaner snow shoes was a great bonanza and made exploring the ranch a lot of fun. The dinners were excellent, but the limited menu resulted in us having most of our meals elsewhere. The only real disappointment was the included breakfast, for example, not including bacon with the pancakes, but was included with the eggs, made no sense at all. Overall, we really enjoyed it and Chad was wonderful in the dining room. Just expected a little more for the pr6

Thank you so much for being our guest on the Ranch, and for taking the time to submit a review. We are pleased your family and your family pet enjoyed the ranch, especially the snowshoeing experience. It is really a wonderful quiet time with nature here in winter and the snowshoes are remarkably fun. Thank you for mentioning the excellent dinners. We also appreciate your constructive criticism on our breakfast offering and we are making appropriate upgrades based on your comments. I stayed at one of the private cabins, which provided amazing scenery, and a quiet atmosphere, allowing you to get away from everything in comfort. There are plenty of birds and wildlife to listen to, and enjoy.

The Cabins have plenty of options to add warmth to your stay, as well as to cool down. Perfect for the unpredictable Montana weather. The sunset and star gazing are also satisfying.

The location is about 5 or 6 miles away from the town of West Yellowstone, and the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, so there is plenty to do. There is also an on-site restaurant a couple minutes walk from the location as well. So there is plenty to do in the area.

The staff are friendly, professional and helpful.

We stayed in Cabin 3, a one queen cabin. It had a hot tub on the porch, a great view of the pond and was seriously adorable and cozy. I highly recommend it! A tip. Book DIRECTLY through the Ranch website. when you book through a 3rd party vendor you are not guaranteed anything. If you read the fine print you will see that they will "try to accommodate your requests"....but when you book through a 3rd party and not directly you often are at the whim of the property.
