if you have small kids and plan to stay at the campground, this might be for you. If you plan to hit the park, sightsee, travel the area, etc there are better and cheaper and less crowded places. We drove an RV from MI to Yellowstone and, over 10 days, this was our most expensive and 'worst' campsite. Yes, it has 'amenities' and we used ZERO of them. The sites were SMALL (our RV BARELY fit) and CROWDED, the showers/bathrooms are ALWAYS busy (because there's only two for like 300 sites). Is there wifi? sure. but it's seriously no faster/better than anywhere else in town (so, basically, don't expect to be 'getting some work done' when hanging out at the camper/site). It was good enough to set up camp for a few days and hit the park. But, it was SO expensive since we were gone from 7am to midnight EVERY night and never took part in any festivities or food, etc. If hanging by your camper all day is what you enjoy, you'll love it here. If you plan to see all of what Yellowstone/the Tetons have to offer, you can stay ANYwhere else for so much cheaper (and still have water/power/etc at your campsite).…
This park is very pretty and very campy! It was tight for us to get into our deluxe patio site, brushed the tree pretty good getting in the site. It’s tight in the park, but manageable. Lots of beautiful trees! Sites are a bit unlevel and where we were on a hill you had to get the RV in the perfectly or you were hanging off the drop. So close to Yellowstone and the area around it! Wifi was good early in the day, but terrible at night. At&t doesn’t get service in the RV park, but great service once in town! We made our trips into town to get our work done before hitting the park and it worked out great!
This KOA was really expensive and it wasn't that great. It was fairly rundown. The internet (like most campgrounds) was a joke. Cell reception wasn't bad on Verizon or T-Mobile. We won't stay here next time.
Avoid this place! They have the worst manager who is so offensive! He Says awful things and no service! They have very small sights that are not level and we could not even open our door and back wheels were 6-8” off the ground. After having reservations for a year and driving over 1000 miles to get here He kicked us out because we couldn’t fit. So sad and hard not to let it ruin your vacation. They don’t even care about bad reviews because they can rent the spots anyways. Hope you don’t let it happen to you! Found a great spot down the road with very very kind people! Not a koa! Corporate Koa couldn’t help us because these franchises are privately owned. Wish the owner cared about what is going on here. We will avoid Koa’s if we can help it in future because of this.
We stayed here at the West Gate KOA near Yellowstone Nat'l Park. We got a site large enough for both a trailer and a tent. There are reasonable sized camp sites, good sized pool, playground, and mini golf. The store has souvenirs, basic grocery needs, and some camping supplies. There is laundry, bathrooms and showers, and meals available for purchase. This is a great family friendly place to stay if you are wanting to camp close to Yellowstone. The park entrance is about 8-10 min away. West Yellowstone has great restaurants, shopping, and museums.
