My family and I spent 1 week in a 2 bedroom cabin and really enjoyed it. Lots to do on site, friendly staff, clean and well taken care of. The wifi is not very good but who needs wifi while camping??? ; ) The store has all your basics but the prices are a little high (even for Yellowstone standards) which is to be expected. The restaurant is worth trying (especially for breakfast). We used the camping kitchen a few times and found it very handy. The burners are not the hottest but it was clean and a great option. The pool is very large, warm and not busy during the day time. Laundry on site, mini-golf, bike rentals, playground for the kids… A quiet place to relax while visiting Yellowstone. About 10 minutes out of town but an easy « commute » for supplies. We had 2 heaters included in our cabin and they came handy….even in August. I would recommend for sure but ask for a site away from the highway which is fairly busy.

We came here for 3 nights on our Yellowstone vacation. Our boys ages 9 and 12 loved it. They kept busy with daily mini golf ($1-$2, can't remember exactly), bike rentals, swimming, and the park. There was also a game room attached to the lobby where internet was available and so was laundry. The convenience store had plenty of items and good customer service. We stayed in a camping cabin that was squeezed in by many other cabins. This is a very busy campground with fast turnover. Personally, I prefer less people, but it was fine. The accommodations were clean and efficient. The location is 6 miles from the Yellowstone gates and close.

We stayed here for a week to see Yellowstone. Our site was a back in, very small, a neighbor helped us to maneuver in. You can't park your truck in the site, too small, everyone was parked on the road or at the end of the road, which made backing in difficult, and we have a small (23') trailer). We had a picnic table and a fire ring. The campground is wooded with alot of trees. I would pay extra for a pull through if you have that option. It was rainy and muddy the whole week so we didn't spend any time at the site except to sleep. We had no WiFi. There's a cell phone room by the laundry room , but reception was still spotty. There's no cell reception in Yellowstone anyway. My husband needed to update a website and I had to submit some work. We ended up using his hotspot. The cell phone room doubles as a game room, but there's really nothing there except some tables and chairs. There was some games and puzzles but none I found that were complete. We have our own anyway. The KOA is very close to the town of West Yellowstone, and the West Yellowstone Gate. They make and sell the most fabulous fudge! Flavors you've never even considered and they are all good! The BBQ there is also very good, we got ribs twice! Prices are competitive. The laundry room is clean, very busy. The indoor pool is heated, very nice, a short walk from the office area. There's no place to park by the pool. The bathrooms and showers are very nice and clean. The handicapped shower by the office is huge and has a full bathroom! There was a covered outdoor kitchen that was heavily used. I had no need to use it, but it seemed very nice. Doggie park was small, but seemed adequate. We didn't use, no dogs with us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Large KOA and very busy. We were there the week of all the rain and flooding, we left just before Yellowstone was closed. We still had a wonderful time and saw so much despite the weather, which is no one's fault. I started planning this trip about 6 months out, not enough time. If I had to do it over, I would start a year in advance. I would highly recommend staying at this KOA.

This campground was very clean and accommodating. When we got there it had just rained quite a bit I guess and our spot was very muddy. I asked if we could have a different spot and they upgraded us to a nicer spot for the same price. The laundromat was clean even though very busy. It has a restaurant on the grounds but we didn’t utilize that. It was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff is great here. The camping spots are separated by trees, have tables, and fire pits. At nighti there are roving security guards to check for problems or assist campers. They have the ability to refill the onboard propane tanks. We had a great stay.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating as our plans changed during our trip. The campground itself is just okay. Some of the sites are right along the highway and some are on dusty gravel drives. Those in the middle are on paved drives and quite nice. We did t check out the pool or laundry facilities. We saw another campground and thought we’d mention it here because it looked amazing. Yellowstone Grizzly RV park. It is very well groomed and in a great location in proximity to Yellowstone National Park.

We planned this vacation six months ago. We were sure to reserve a pull through for a 50 foot as we have a motorhome and cargo trailer. We came to the park from Georgia, pulled in and almost had us checked in when JOHN DUTTON stuck his nose in. He claimed that I had intentionally booked a 30 foot trailer and that our trailer would not fit in the site reserved. He continued to accuse me of intentionally booking a smaller trailer, not so. All my KOA are booked for 50 foot. John Dutton then said he is not playing games and for me to leave the park, right now. This was a devastating event in our lives as we had no where to go. I would never use this KOA. I also read that John Dutton does this all the time to people. So you Class A need to stay away from this campground.

We spent four nights at the West Yellowstone KOA. This was our first KOA experience. This is a huge campground! We found the staff to be thorough and accommodating. My kids appreciated and enjoyed the pool, multi-person bikes, and mini-golf. The gift shop and store was well stocked and nicer than some other souvenir shops we visited. We were in a centrally located pull through site, and the only issue was that it didn’t handle the rain well - giant puddles and mud that took days to dry in the center of our site. Wished we had a cement pad, more gravel or grass. The sewer hook up was not threaded, so you’ll want a rubber seal which they did have in the store for $3. Bathrooms were usually clean, and the wi-fi sometimes worked which is how it goes around here. Nice laundry facility too. Go during the day if you can. It gets busy. We would stay here again. Good location for exploring this part of Yellowstone.

We stayed at the West Yellowstone KOA for 14 days. The second part of this review explains my low review. KOA is located just 8 miles from the entrance of Yellowstone which seems to be the justification for the cost and is surrounded on 3 sides with cows and pasture. Located just off US 20, you will get some road noise, especially if you back up to the highway (we did not). The park is like a small town given the number of rv, tent and cabins and the abundance of workers throughout the park. And if you have kids, there seems to be quite a lot of activities for them, including the large indoor pool. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and proceeded to our site without escort. We were on the deluxe pull through sites that were terraced on a slight slope. As a result, the leveling of the sites was not great and the best I could find was a 2.5 degree pitch to the drivers side and then had significant leveling to do. The facilities were crowded in the morning and evening (laundry and bathroom) but adequate as were the utilities. They also had a small dog park – the only place with a dog waste station. WiFi was the exception as it was basically useless - was explained to us at check in given the number of people accessing it. There is decent T-Mobile and Verizon signal. I would rate this park a 3.7 comparing it to the dozens of parks we have stayed in during the past year. Why a one star review? Three days before arriving at the park, my wife had an incident requiring surgery and left her unable to drive the vehicle (which is not towable). Not going into great detail (already provided feedback to the park and corporate), absolutely no compassion was shown for us when asking for a small 48 hour accommodation for our vehicle. And a side note, the overflow lot was basically empty the day we left. Although I would like to call him out in this review, I won’t but his response was simply this “Make other arrangements (for the car) or stay else where.” Seriously? Obviously did not grasp how difficult this is when dealing with a shattered ankle. Like we planned this to happen, or it is a good thing to move someone with recent surgery, or we have the flexibility during the 4th of July week to pack up and find a new place. So my plan will be to never stay here again in the future and let others know of our experience here. Be sure to read other reviews which have similar negative ratings. They don’t care about the people. I should have been prepared for this treatment since another customer was in the office indicating he was “demeaned and belittled” by one of the employees for an honest mistake on the check out time. Stayed in a KOA the night before and mixed it up but the employee was aggressive in his verbal beat down. Sad this KOA treats people who stay regularly at KOAs this way.

The campground is about 5 miles from west gate of Yellowstone, so you will need a vehicle to go into town. We paid 72.00 a night for this place wow! It did not have anything extra except a pool that was either closed down for cleaning or full of splashing screaming kids. Our site was close to the road so it was noisy. If I had to do it again I would choose a campground in town.
