Two of us stayed for four nights while visiting Yellowstone National Park. While the property is old, it is well-maintained, very clean and the bed was comfortable. We spent most of our time in the park, so we basically needed someplace to sleep and this hotel is very close to the West entrance. Mike from the hotel was helpful in identifying a few places to eat and since our room was ready he allowed us to check in early, which allowed us to get into Yellowstone early afternoon. The room had a refrigerator and microwave and free ice was readily available. The room had a laminate floor, which is fine with us and the bathroom was clean. Our room was actually fairly spacious and there was an extra bench that was perfect for our luggage. The motel was full as was the parking lot. I think this was reflective of the reasonable rates. All in all, we had a good stay and we would return for future stays if we ever visit Yellowstone National Park again.…
We were in room 1. The room was small for 2 people, although it had 2 double beds. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very small and the shower head wasn't really set right to shower properly. There was no fan in the bathroom so when you showered the whole bathroom including the door knob was covered with condensation. The owners were very help giving a map and advising about places to eat for breakfast and dinner. WiFi was good. The place really need needs modernisation including the bedding, but it is really close to the West Yellowstone Gate, but there are lots of other hotels there too. This one was the best value.
My number one priority when traveling is cleanliness. This hotel fits the bill! Our room was spotless. No carpeting which was a huge plus. Everything was perfect. Adorable interior. Great use of space. Desk provided. Large nightstand between the 2 beds with upper and lower storage. Ample hangar space. Bathroom storage shelf. Quality towels and bedding. Very quiet. Great water pressure. Comfortable tub. Entire room well lit. Seating provided outside. Yes it is an older hotel BUT it is exceptionally well maintained and cared for. We travel alot. This hotel is definitely worth staying at. We stayed 3 nights. We would definitely return.
We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Yellowstone Park. The motel is small and old fashioned and has no ambiance. Just an U shaped building with cars parked all over in front. The room itself was small, dark and gloomy. There was no night table on one side of the bed and no lamp, the heater and A/C were like from 70s, A/C was venting somewhere into the wall. Thank god we did not need to use it as the nights were cool and during the day we were not there. Surprisingly the TV was a modern flat screen. There were chairs outside every room, but sitting there was like being on a parking lot. All rooms are on the ground floor, so no opportunity even to open window and keep your privacy. The rooms are bunched up together and don't have good insulation. Depending on the neighbours the night could be quiet or noisy. The only positive is the location within walking distance to centre of town and easy drive to West gate of the Yellowstone. We chose this motel based on the positive reviews on TA, but would not recommend it. Better spend extra money and stay somewhere else.…
This place is unique. We stayed in the 3 bed room. All three beds were different, but all were comfortable and clean. This place also did not have carpet, which was great! We had a mini fridge and a microwave, both worked. The room was huge, bathroom was small, but efficient and clean. You can park right in front of your room. The washer and dryer worked great and cheapest laundry we did on the whole trip. You can walk to downtown, which had great choices for shopping and eating. Yellowstone entrance is very convenient and extremely close. I would recommend this motel to friends, families, and I would stay again.
I called the afternoon of the night we needed a room and luckily was able to make a reservation. Very nice clean room. Owners are friendly and helpful. Bedding was nice. Slept great. Happy to find this gem of a motel.
When we arrived the 3 reservations that we had was messed up and one of our 3 parties had to find a different hotel to stay in. The hotel is over priced considering it is a budget hotel that is very dated. It did have air conditioning and a small fridge which is important to us when traveling. The location to town is great as it is all within walking distance. I like that it is a walk in room as we pull a trailer behind our motorcycles and is easy to unload and reload with no stairs.
Great place that is family owed. Nice updates and is very clean. Owner gave us suggestion on where to eat! Very walkable to uptown. Washer, dryer and ice are available. A park is right across the street. Thank you One Horse!
There are a lot of places to stay in West Yellowstone and with all the good reviews, I picked this one and am very glad I did. This is a small, family run motel. I spoke many times with Carrie, the manager and she was very friendly and helpful. I made my reservations months in advance and was assigned our room them. We had a nice, big and cozy corner room. When we first walked in, you walk in to a small room with a double bed then there was the room we slept in with two double beds. It was a very comfortable room for our two night stay. The bathroom had a lot of nice fluffy towels. There was a small refrigerator, microwave, ac, cable tv, and complimentary WIFI. Our room was very quiet. They have benches outside of the rooms to sit and enjoy a cool evening. When we checked out, met Mike the owner. Nice guy. The location is near restaurants and shops and a very short drive - 4 blocks - to the West Entrance of Yellowstone. There is free parking with spots right in front of the rooms. I highly recommend One Horse Motel. You will love it - we did!.…
Small, family run motel. Friendly staff. The property is older. But, well maintained and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Located in the middle of town. Walkable to most everything. One of the better priced motels in West Yellowstone.
