Nestled near Yellowstone's entrance, Kelly Inn-west Yellowstone charms guests with its wildlife-themed decor and rustic ambiance. While opinions on value diverge, with some guests finding the cost high, the comprehensive amenities like the pool and breakfast options are well-received.
The spacious and clean rooms are a hit, though a few mention they could use an update. Service at the inn is largely celebrated for its warmth and helpfulness, and the location is a favorite for its convenience to local attractions.

The Grizzly building had a hint of wildlife theme and was extremely quiet. Stayed three days..not once did we hear a siren, a car alarm or voices. The room had modern appliances, updated spotless bathroom and upgraded linens.
The breakfast was average, in a nice dining area. Access to Yellowstone is quick. Definitely recommended!

I will start off by saying that picking a hotel in West Yellowstone made me anxious as I typically am a Marriott loyalist and there are no Marriott hotels in West Yellowstone. I booked this hoping for the best and Kelly Inn exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in the Grizzly Building (the newer of the two) and thought our rooms were very nice. We enjoyed the setup with a spare sink in the hall area of the room to help when multiple people are trying to use one bathroom. The mini-fridge was cold and large enough to hold our items (water some fruits and veggies). The breakfast was excellent with hot and cold items and a very attentive staff member making sure it was all stocked. Husband and kids loved the make your own pancake machine. The staff was friendly and helpful and the common areas were clean. Rooms were quiet at bedtime. We could hear a bit of hallway noise but at night it was very quiet. Location was extremely close to the West Gate which is helpful since you need to be at the gate before 7:15 am if you want to get thru in less than 15 min. Otherwise, plan on a 1-2 hour wait to get thru the gate! Great choice for anyone used to nicer Marriott properties as there aren't a ton of nice options in the area, We would stay here again and will recommend it to anyone in the area!

We stayed 3 nights (1/1/20-1/4/20) & loved our stay. The rooms are comfy and very roomy. The staff were awesome (super friendly, accommodating & very helpful). They offer a nice breakfast with fresh pancakes (not frozen) and hot soup is waiting for you in the afternoon when you return from snowmobiling, skiing... The location is also a positive since McDonald's is in the front of the parking lot - for those of us from the south who have sweet tea withdrawal when we travel, they have it for $1.00!!! We would highly recommend Kelly Inn!!

Facility clean. Adequate towels BUT must arrange for towel exchange 24 hrs in advance. Unfortunately, we checked in at 10:30 p.m. and night clerk neglected to go over "the rules". Morning clerk was very rude. The sign for towel exchange was buried under a huge basket so it was impossible to see. It was a HUGE effort on her part to notify housekeeping at 7 a.m (they were just arriving) to change our towels. Due to Covid, breakfast buffet suspended but "bag" breakfast substituted. Highly variable bag of goodies. First morning, two hard boil eggs, bagel/cream cheese, breakfast bar and fruit. Self service coffee/tea or juice. Toaster available. Second day, breakfast bar/piece of fruit. Everyone who claimed bag asked the same question, why so skimpy on items. The overnight clerk (there til 8 am) said it was due to Covid. No, it was an excuse. The kitchen worker didn't arrive til 8 am, and night crew did not seem to be interested in customer service. Everyone who stays in West Yellowstone is there for the YNP, and gets up early to enter park. I blame management for NOT planning or picking better workers. We stayed in a similar hotel elsewhere. They had a better covid breakfast plan, properly staffed from 6 to 10 a.m. with hot breakfast available too. I did not feel the Kelly Inn attempted to provide value. This place is lucky people are willing to travel and patronize, show some consideration.

The Kelly Inn West Yellowstone was a comforting sight to stumble onto after a long day in the park. We had just arrived to our comfortable, clean, and cutely cabin decorated room before the first snowstorm of the season started coming down, derailing our plans for the weekend. The Kelly Inn was the perfect spot to be snowed in for the night, warm and cozy to watch the snowfall.
Because the snow derailed our plans, we ended up hunkering down in our room for the day. We went down to their breakfast bar to check it out and collect some snacks for the day, and everything was well organized for a COVID-safe breakfast. Bread, bagels, waffles, and breakfast sandwiches were all pre-portioned and individually wrapped to be taken back to the room; even condiments like syrup and fruit for the waffles were pre-portioned! After staying in a number of supposedly "COVID friendly" hotels, it was nice to stay in a hotel that was taking actual percautions.
We had to leave the hotel a day early due to the snow, which the front desk was super helpful and understanding about and gave me a refund for the extra night immediately. I would stay here anytime I was visiting Yellowstone!

We enjoyed our stay at the Kelly Inn. We stayed in the new Grizzly building.
Pros:
Comfortable bed and pillows
Super clean rooms
Friendly and helpful staff
Pool and hot tub is amazing!
Great location with many restaurants within walking distance
Cons:
Due to covid, no breakfast Buffett. The to go breakfast bags are disappointing. It seems like they could do better. You get a bagel, orange, and small juice.
No full service housekeeping- you have to ask each day for towels, toiletries, and a trash change.

Good evening kcnicolehardy, Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Kelly Inn West Yellowstone! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Kelly Inn! We do apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. Unfortunately, the county is not allowing any buffets to operate, so we have improvised to make to go bags in the meantime. When the restrictions are lifted, we will be running our full breakfast. Regarding housekeeping, we are limiting the contact between employees and guests to keep everyone safe, and will gladly service rooms if requested. Again, once restrictions are lifted, we will be going back to normal full service day to day. We hope you have a great remainder of your vacation! Warmest Regards,

Stayed a couple of nights. Our room was in the grizzly building and was not outdated. The main building (checkin, breakfast) did look outdated (windows and AC of rooms from the parking lot) but Grizzly rooms are nice.
We checked in past midnight. Unfortunately, at 6am, the guy starting his shift called our room to (quote) "check that we had checked in". That was not exactly smart and we did not appreciate it... ( reason for the -1 *)
The room has a very clean feel with white bedspread, black headboards, pictures, ...
Instead of the traditional closet, there is bench with hangers for coats, gear,... quite convenient. There is also a little sink (outside of the bathroom) to clean dishes, fish, shors, whatever. Convenient again.
Toiletries provided seemed of good quality.
Breakfast is provided. Our experience: day 1, hubby went came back with bags with a bagel and an orange, ok, better than nothing/ day 2, I go: the lady gave me a tray with bagels, yogurt parfaits, fruits and eggs! The person before me got the same but I saw other people in the dining room with only the paper bag. They were looking enviously at my tray !
Lots of people at the pool, which is by the dining room.
This place isnt cheap (we paid in the range of 250/night), but for the location (Yellowstone, and actually, just a right turn and short drive to the entrance) and overall service, we would definitely book again.

We stayed here for a recent visit to Yellowstone. The hotel is in a very convenient location near the West Gate and close to restaurants in town. They offer the standard hotel breakfast fare (eggs, sausage, assortment of cereal, etc.) and all the staff we met were nice and polite. The room was clean and spacious. On the negative side, the shower was bad (spray was weak and shot everywhere and the curtain was mildewed and smelled). Also, we were informed when we checked in that daily maid service was discontinued due to covid and staffing and would have to get our own towels and such if needed….however, we were still charged full price. Other than those two things, our stay was pleasant.

This is an ideal location for visiting Yellowstone, but there are some issues. We were in the Grizzly building across from the main building. It is a newer building, but it is unattached and there is no staff member that is at the front, so if you’re worried about safety, this may not be the building you’s want to stay in. When we first walked in the room our kids loved it. You can tell it is a newly decorated room and it is very cute with lots of places to hang your items. What I realized later is that there is no closet or drawer space, so I don’t see how people would unpack in this room for a longer stay. Other than that the room was a good size and fairly clean (the walls had unknown remnants on them). The issues we had were the beds and noise level. The walls/ceilings are thin, we had someone above us stomping for hours each night when we were trying to sleep and the beds were not very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning while hot was not that great and about half of the staff we encountered were not very pleasant. One staff member was annoyed to bring us extra towels even though rooms aren’t being cleaned and one staff member was bothered my husband went down to breakfast prior to the official start time. We did laundry while we were there and it cost $2.50 a load for the washer AND the dryer, so we paid $15 to do 3 loads of laundry. They worked great, but I definitely don’t recommend doing it at night as it was a busy place with just 3 machines. Overall, it was an average accommodation with a perfect location.

With 2020 being a strange year for travel this hotel was doing everything possible to make travelers feel safe and comfortable while staying within the guidelines for Covid restrictions. The room we had had two entrances - one entrance went directly to the outside parking while the other entrance led into the hotels hallways and lobby. The Hotel's location was perfectly placed- a couple blocks from the west entrance to Yellowstone and within walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping of West Yellowstone. Quiet spot and would highly recommend.
